This post might be a little late, but I still wanted to share my thoughts on the long-awaited launcher update. After all the waiting and speculation, it's finally here, and I'm genuinely happy with the changes. Hopefully, this is a step toward making the Epic Games Launcher even better in the future.

I've been using the updated launcher for the past few days, and honestly, the improvements have been pretty impressive. Navigating the store feels much faster, the library loads almost immediately, and I love that you can set the launcher to open directly to your library. The new look of collections is great, too, and I really like the changes to the downloads section.

Overall, I'm happy with the update!

Now that we've got some improvements, I'd love to hear what features you'd like to see added next. Personally, my biggest wish has always been more customization, flexibility, and useful features.

Here are a few things I'd love to see:

• More customization: The option to hide or collapse the social tab instead of having it permanently take up space. I'd prefer it to work more like the downloads section, remaining accessible whenever I need it.
• Developer and publisher pages: An easy way to view all games from a specific developer or publisher.
• More control over downloads: The option to choose which DLCs and additional content get downloaded with a game.
• Better sorting options: For example, being able to sort achievements by date.
• Customer reviews
• Game prices in search results

I recently heard about the very Pro-AI stance of the CEO of Epic, and I also heard they entirely vibecoded the current Epic launcher. Now ive read of some people where the launcher itself led to bad stuff happening to your computer, one even said his PC got bricked entirely.

Thing is, I really want to play Alan Wake 2, but I wanna dodge as much AI and potential problems with my PC as possible.

Now, I need to know, how bad is the new Epic Launcher in its current form? Can I just go on and buy the game or should I wait until the launcher is in a better state?

Slow download speeds on a fresh epic launcher install from today, every game I tried to DL was worse than dial up speed, had a long conversation with a real human support. After giving up, I decided to try their new beta vibe coded launcher and download speeds were normal..not 12 hours to download a 3 gig game. So, yes, they were blocking download speeds in the legacy version...the same game downloads are on the exact same server, same firewalls etc

I recently purchased an EGS card (Purple card with the battle bus on it) and i tried to use it to buy Dead By Daylight DLC but neither my account funds or my rewards were able to be selected. Now I know these cards and rewards were able to be used before, but now nothing on the EGS is eligible except to buy Vbucks or packs for FN. Did they change the rewards system?

Tim wants everybody to use AI, because it's much easier and faster. It is already leading to a massive increase in "games" that are flooding the market.

The issue already existed before AI games, because people only have a limited amount of time and money that they can invest in games. There is no infinite growth.

How are developers supposed to sell their games and make $200000 each when there are soooo many titles out there? Nobody is going to buy this stuff.

Can now keep your games if you uninstall the launcher and some fixes for Linux systems.

Epic trolling as well, what's after 0.99, 1.00 of course, wrong it's 0.100

and when you reinstall EGS launcher the client will automatically finds those games.

In v2 launcher there's no more percent after update is downloaded and its being installed. That's not good. I hope it comes back.

On the plus side you can watch in real time how much storage is being taken which is nice I guess.

Current one looks awful, especially with that big ass social tab.

I have about 15 bucks in epic rewards. What should I get from the sale, or should wait for a better sale

Epic need fast buy.

The biggest change of course collapsed friends list which can be expanded when needed.

Interesting information with the game having done 160k sales so far and the majority of those sales being done through Epic, with every ten copies being split with six through Epic, three through Steam and one through Xbox.

They also talk about how the reduced fees helps massively too. Glad to see an indie doing well!
