The sixth track from Cyan, the fifth studio album by Polish band Closterkeller, released April 29, 1996 by Izabelin Studio, a division if PolyGram Polksa.
Closterkeller have played many styles of music, starting as a goth rock and new wave band, this album is a mix of goth rock, hard rock, and gothic metal. This specific song has a lot of bluesy doom metal riffing, and is quite atmospheric -- if you like The Gathering or The Third and the Mortal, this track might be for you.
It has come to my attention that this band recently released a re-recorded version of this album (ReCyan) to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Find it here: ( https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lrj-ZOZ94jFeZPDIG3NiX-0_D6mHqfX98&si=5ACSvhWZcIy_bnEW ) or on your streaming service of choice.

Hey everybody,
As the title of this post suggests, I'm curious about what your all fashion choices have been like lately. Now that it's getting colder out, I've been able to stop wearing my general casual fitness aesthetic and back more into my proper goth wardrobe. I'm thinking about adding a couple rings and necklaces to my accessory inventory and am planning on dying my hair this weekend.
So I'm just curious what everyone in the goth metal world is wearing these days and if anyone has any fun plans to look their best with Halloween approaching!

Delightful death-disco. Kind of 80s flavor.

Classic gothic metal track from 97.

"A Vision They Shared" by Italian (and Romanian?) gothic metal band Mandragora Scream. This song comes from their sophomore record A Whisper of Dew, released by Nuclear Blast Records on February 10, 2003.
A perfect song (and album) for the Halloween season, it's almost cheesily spooky and vampiric. Add it to your playlists now!

These ladies used to perform as the band Dogma before some management BS happened. They started their own band called Vindicta and this is their second single they’ve released. I love this track.
I can hear some Manson influence at the beginning, some vocal delivery that reminds me of Graves-era misfits or AFI (like kind of haunting, I guess) and a Mick Gordon, DOOM-like breakdown in the second half.
Great track

Such a classic! wish they were active still. Love this song the atmosphere and the violin work. Truly different times back then for this music 🖤

This little gem got recommended to me today when I was just shuffling Spotify. I’ve never heard of them before.
MidnightDate is a Polish band formed in 1997. They’ve released a few EPs, and released their first full album Disease of Mutual Hatred in 2020.
Other than that information I acquired from the Metal Archives, I know absolutely nothing about this band. If you know more, please feel free to share. I hope you enjoy!

One of my main surprises of this year was the new album "Vaketimen" by Evig Natt. I was never a major fan of their previous work, but after a hiatus of 10 years, they seem to have returned stronger than ever. It's the classic 'beauty and the beast' sound with clean female vocals and male growls, but the sound goes beyond gothic metal, rather being a blend of gothic, doom and folk metal with lyrics in both English and Norwegian. I was really impressed with this one, to the point of liking it more than the new Draconian album!

This is a release that I completely missed. I understood that Weeping Silence had undergone some lineup changes between previous albums and this one, making "Opus IV: Oblivion" their standout release for me. You can expect classic 'beauty and the beast' style gothic metal with heavy doom influences, not unlike Draconian. Diane Camenzuli has a wonderful voice, and the music is great too. A very nice surprise for a rainy Tuesday!

All The Beauty… is Mortal Love’s first album, releasing in 2002 under Massacre Records. This is a band I never really listened to a ton, but as I’m lying in my bed with my cat it just clicked. Something about this listen makes me want to break down in tears, the emotion pouring through my speaker is something I had to share.
If you haven’t listened to this album in a while, do yourself a favor and throw it on. I recommend a warm bed and a cat for support.

"Healing Hearts", from Dark Love Poems, the third and final album by German gothic metal, alt rock, goth rock, nu metal fusion band Bloodflowerz. Another album that recently had a 20th anniversary, DLP was originally released June 23, 2006, on Silverdust Records.
This album was produced and mixed by Alexander Krull, and it definitely sounds like it. Its less dark than their debut and less thunderous than the sophomore, but there is an elegance to this album's sound. The way the faux-orchestra keyboards are incorporated feel very reminiscent to early-Leaves' Eyes, and the programming reminiscent to early-Elis, both DACH+ bands Krull was producing for around this time.
"Healing Hearts" is not my favorite track from this album, but it has grown on me a lot. It's a nice piece of gothic fluff.
For fans of: Mortal Love, HIM, Evanescence, Dark Princess, The Crest, Entwine, Lacuna Coil

"Dead Loves" by Greek alternative/gothic metal band Elysion, taken from their fourth studio album Identity. This new record was released Friday, October 16, 2026 on Massacre Records.
This is their first album in three years, which is actually this band's quickest turn-around between releases. You'd think that'd make them easier to keep up with, but I still haven't listened to 2023's Bring Out Your Dead. Part of the difficulty comes from the fact that they got booted from the Metal Archives a few years ago (which is a trend of melodic, commercially viable female fronted acts from the 2000s).
Does anyone have opinions? This is definitely a heavier record than the one single I heard of the last album.

I got this recommendation from my Dad. We both love Gothic Metal a lot and he recommended this one. It's definitely very dark in tone and lyrics, like a mix of Goth/Doom basically.
I haven't checked more of their discography, but this marked a strong 1st impression as someone who enjoys the slower and darker variants of Gothic. I recommend this album a lot.

There is nothing I love more than an album that hits me in the right spot, even though it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. It feels like my little treasure that nobody else has discovered yet.
The Black Opera: Symphoniæ Mysteriorum in Laudem Tenebrarum by Opera IX is something I really enjoy putting on. This album isn’t a secret, however this entire band isn’t really talked about. It’s probably their most popular maybe besides Sacro Culto. This is Opera IX’s third studio album released in 2000 under the record label Avantgarde Music. It’s a really nice fusion of black and gothic metal. If that’s your sort of thing, here you go.
Whats your favorite underrated album? If it’s too hard to choose, then what’s a band you feel deserves more love? I’d love to check them out.

Hi folks, have you ever heard about the band Pinhead?
They are phantastic in my opinion.
