That is all. I love Dobeš. He's a great goaltender, but Fowler's proving himself time and again with how calm he plays when the opposing team make their plays. The only other goalie I've seen play like this was Carey Price. Give this guy more ice time, and I think he'll prove himself again and again. MSL must have known this when he chose him to start at the Heritage Classic.
I watch games with a six hour delay, living where I am. So I have to watch a repeat rather than a live game. I make sure not to know the score before I put the game on so that it feels like a genuine experience. Two things struck me about Habs play this time: they racked up too many penalties (the most in one game that I've ever seen), and Caufield didn't get a single chance at scoring, only assists. Could it be that his awesome play relies too much on his teamwork with Suzuki?
It's my first time watching a Heritage Classic as well. The atmosphere is amazing. Definitely would feel like a more unique experience than playing at the Bell Center or any other indoor arena. Intensity is definitely higher at Bell, but this feels more homey. Like a lot of the times the commentators mentioned pond hockey.
What does everybody else think?
