Hi, I have recently become an additional mod for this subreddit. Firstly thanks u/scislac for approving me.
I've made a few small changes to start off with that I think are small enough to not cause any trouble/warrant community approval, though if there are comments about this please reach out.
Please let me know if there are any issues regarding these changes or if you want anything else changed. I'll also consider revamping the look, for example adding a banner image. There will soon also be some optional user flairs available.

Hi! I'm editing a symmetrical, geometric fox logo in Inkscape. The logo consists of two separate vector shapes, each with a black outline.
The problem is that a black line appears down the middle where the two shapes meet. I want to keep the black outline around the outside of the logo, but remove the internal line completely.
I've tried adjusting the nodes, moving the shapes, scaling them, and aligning them, but I keep running into problems: either there's a gap between the shapes, the black line remains, or the bottom tip becomes misaligned.
What's the simplest way to remove the internal stroke while preserving the original shape and the outer black outline?
I'd really appreciate a step-by-step solution. I'm still learning Inkscape, so please explain which objects I need to select and which commands to use.
Below, the first image shows the logo with the black outer outline and the black line down the middle. The second image shows the design without the outlines or the middle line. The third image shows the original inspiration for the logo.
Thank you!

Hello Inkscape,
I've been working on a board game for some time, and it is played on a hex board of starships flying across the galaxy. I'd like to make a beautiful physical board for it, using some of the open source galaxy images (https://esahubble.org/images/heic0602a/ and similar).
Current hex map: https://imgur.com/a/SamjC7b
Is Inkscape the right tool for putting a hex grid on a photo like this and printing it at ~20x22 inches? I'd probably need to do some fancy shifting of hex grid edge colors to maintain contrast across the board.
I appreciate any advice or direction, thanks!

So I use inkscape and a brother sewing machine, HET PE500.
And I've had this repeated issue of my patches coming out misaligned. In the photos the suitcase isn't quiet meeting the satin line and there's a gap. Plus on the cutout patch, my first attempt, there's a few more gaps with the white, and the pink around the edges.
the one still in the fabric is my second attempt where I extended the suitcase and other objects to fill little past the satin outline but now there's areas that go over and the stupid suitcase still has that big gap.
I've had this issue with other patterns I've tried to make, the simulator always looks fine when i run it so i always think its safe to embroider away. At this point I just want to know if there's any way to work around it or any thing I can do ahead of time to know it'll won't align correctly.

HI all. Trying to resize the selection box to the selected object so it bounds within the background box. Reason why is when I export a png it's dimensions are off and I have to manually crop the image in post or re-export with different dimensions and crop again to the required dimensions.
Mostly I'm editing icons (vigorously trying to update oxymentary icons theme) and this issue really slows the process down.
I already found this topic:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Inkscape/comments/ijd3al/resize_selection_border/
also a youtube video of the same instructions, but it's not working how I would like.
I've been using inkscape on and off over the years, I'm no expert but I do enjoy the process.
Any pointers would be appreciated?

Hello, Ive been having issues with wanting to continue an already existing line from a node, but without a fail it connects the chosen node to the first placed one. It also seems to duplicate some nodes and lines as a whole. I added pictures for better clarity. Thanks in advance

Hello.
I've started making a few short (~3 min) videos demonstrating my Inkscape extension. I'm terrible at making videos, so they're basically just screen recordings.
One of my biggest challenges is explaining what the extension actually does and what you can do with it.
I'm planning to make about 20 more videos, so I'd really appreciate some feedback before going further. I'd especially like to hear from people familiar with Inkscape.
What I'd love to know is what you actually understand about this extension from watching some of these videos (i.e. only 2 or 3 first). What do you think it does? What kind of workflow and possibilities do you see?
I'm not really looking for video production advice (audio, subtitles, editing, etc.). I've already received useful suggestions about that. What I'd really like to know is whether the videos successfully communicate what the extension is capable of.
Here's the playlist:

Thanks in advance!

I have a file with lots of black shapes, with the opacity turned down to create shadows. To add this file into Canva, I need to remove all the transparent shapes. I'd like to keep the shadows, so I've been individually selecting the shapes I've used to create shadows, eyedropping the colour, and turning the opacity up to 100%. This is proving to take a very long time, and I was wondering if there was a quicker way to do this?
Example image shows a shape with the hex code #000000 and the opacity turned down.

I am new to Inkscape and I'm trying to learn if for permaculture site design. I downloaded the permaculture extension and have been following this tutorial from the designer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-cQuFCESmE
But when I try to use his extension to load the primary data from the Google Maps coordinates I get the spinning ball of death on my Mac, Inkscape freezes up, and I have to force quit. Is anyone familiar with this extension? What am I doing wrong, and is there away around this? I have never had any issues with memory and processing with my Mac before; it's fairly new. I messaged the extension developer about it and I'm just waiting to hear back from him.

I used an old, low-quality AI-generated image as an initial reference for the logo, then refined it until I achieved a suitable result. Afterward, I manually created a vector version of it using Inkscape (same as my "Future linux" logo)
what do you think?

should represent ideas of privacy and integration..(how much does this design represent them?)
inspired by lineageOS android's logo....everything is original, no AI use at all, made in inkscape, 2 color versions(which more suitable?)
What do you think?

I'm struggling with this object that contains other objects inside it. How can I cut it in half?
THIS IS THE ORIGINAL SVG FILE that I want to cut in half

After using the effect, two halves appears , but one of them looks to be the primary half since it has the xy settings and the other one has a button that takes me back to the primary! Is there a way I can decide which one is the primary before applying the effect?
Why? After applying the effect, the secondary half has an extra very thin fill along the entire length of the shape, it comes out of no where , I need the shape without it, but I don't want to waste time deleting segments and nodes. The primary doesn't have the extra fill, so if I can decide which one is, I can simply delete the half I don't want and do another slice again and delete the opposite half
