I acknowledge that genuine leather is the lowest grade of "real" leather, but how bad is it?

Can anyone help me to understand what is happening to this leather couch, and if there is any way that I could fix it or reverse the damage? This is in Florida, if that makes a difference. It was my father's before he died, and I really hope that it isn't ruined completely.

looking to buy a leather belt for jeans and 1 for docker slacks. bought a belt where the back was not smoothed down and raw and rough natural and what a pain in the ass it is to sleeve in the loops on the pants. never again so looking for belts only that have this done

I need help finding some hides that match this coat. I have been looking for hours.
