Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to have a brand new one for basically free, but I chose the sentimental value option for a reason. It’s a little funny that they still sent back the old case for it, and not a new one.
I thought I had lost my silver Leatherman ARC, so I ended up buying the Talos version to replace it. Fast forward a few weeks, I was cleaning out my room and came across an old EDC backpack. Sure enough, there was my silver ARC sitting inside the whole time! 😂
Now that I have both, I’ve decided to make the Talos my everyday carry and keep the silver ARC for tasks around the house. Guess losing it temporarily worked out in the end! 🔥
Finally got my wave that I paid 3 bucks at the swap meet for back from warranty and it looks stellar! Fixed all the issues now I feel like it’s considered a wave + 😂
New to the leatherman arc, I keep it right hand carry in my front pocket. I slide the arc to the back most area of the front pocket and keep my wallet and other things also in my right front pocket. Going in to grab my wallet one of the tools (I think it was the scissors) was loose from the multi tool and stabbed right into my pinky 's nailbed. Extremely painful! I came from a charge so I never had that issue. I was looking to the forums and saw that if I tighten the screws it could lock up the arc and prevent it from opening. Is this a usual issue or will I just have to adjust the screws with loctite? Which screws should I be tightening? I don't mind slow rolling the tools out the side as long as I can do it with one hand.
I came home Sunday night and my fiance had packed everything up and moved out over the weekend without a word. Zero indication, cleaned out the safe of all the cash on the way out the door. Savings account is in their name. In hindsight stupid stupid move for me but I hopped online and sold some of my Leathermans.. I made nearly a grand in 2 days. Now I have breathing room. I know that's not the kinda thing that usually gets said in this room and this will probably get flagged and removed but I don't care. I love my tools and collected them but they seriously saved me when I wasn't expecting it. So these guys are an investment, I hadn't thought about it much like that before. I'd sold one or two extras here or there as I built my collection but when the chips were down and I was screwed they straight up saved my a**... Time to start building again I guess. Thanks Leatherman.
This isn't a huge deal, but I do think it's illustrative of some of the frustration I've seen around here. Leatherman clearanced out the Rustle on their website and Amazon, probably for maybe just under the price that it should have sold for. I happen to like this blade shape, liked the colors, do a lot of camping and cooking, and so I bought one of each color.
As the knives came over the span of a few days, I noticed that the sheaths are all pressed with a different level of retention. The black sheath, the first one I received, is almost TOO tight, which I didn't really think about bc it should loosen a bit over time. The orange sheath, however, arrived and is almost too loose - the knife can shake around and make clack-clack-clack noises, and finally, the blue-green sheath might be the goldilocks version - just right, no movement when stored and not too much pressure to remove.
The original MSRP of this knife is higher than the Arc, and yet they couldn't even get the sheath to a consistent spec.
These things are awesome for $120. I'd be very annoyed at nearly $300.
In addition to the sheaths, the "Alpine" knife arrived with glue all over it because the knife tray in the box had peeled apart and the knife had to be physically pried out of LM's premium packaging. I also got a clearance Trac, the button on the sheath had rubbed it's finish bare onto the scale of the knife in transit/before opening.
I really like Leatherman as a company and I guess my whining is just disappointment that these things cost so much and yet so much inconsistency gets by the QA/QC process.
On my way from my Ocrevus treatment, I stopped by my PO BOX and seen that my Leatherman Arc was waiting for me. This thing is nice! Will be a perfect addition to my edc, can’t stop admiring and fidgeting with it. Stay safe out there fellas!
Had to bust out 2 tools to get the job done. Toothbrush head on my gf sonicare was loose. Easy fix with some loctite on a loose screw. It also stopped working due to a leak which short circuit something and won’t allow it to charge. Now I potentially need to bust out the soldering iron as geniuses at philips just have to solder in a seemingly replaceable battery to the motherboard.
Yesterday it fell from a height while I was working up a ladder, today I needed to open an electrical panel, I couldn't find my panel key, and she went pop. I hope the warranty will take care of me. My wave has been my companion and never let me down.
Ive been rockin this charge+ for the passed few years as my daily carry, im looking at getting the surge+ pvd or the arc, im leaning towards the surge due to the strength of the tool and the pliers look beefy plus all the mods but i like the one hand operation of the arc but the pliers dont look that beefy lol my charge+ pliers i only use for medium duty task in fear of warp or break watcha yall can thinkin me for eh im in construction so i need something durable
