Need Design Advise Dining room light help
Title: Help me choose a dining room light that complements our entryway chandelier!
I need help deciding between two light fixtures for our dining room!
Picture 1: The chandelier we’ve chosen for our entryway.
Pictures 2 & 3: The two dining room lights I’m trying to decide between.
Picture 4: Shows how our dining room is visible from the entryway, so both fixtures will be seen together.
Picture 5: Our current dining table and chairs for reference.
I’m going for an organic modern look and want the two fixtures to complement each other without being too matchy-matchy or competing for attention.
Our ceilings are 10 feet tall, and our dining table is 72” x 30”.
Which dining room light would you choose—option 2 or 3? I’m especially interested in whether the fixtures will look cohesive since you can see both spaces at the same time.
Open to other suggestions, too! I’m having such a hard time deciding!

Need Design Advise Looking for high-quality G9 LED bulbs without visible LED hotspots in frosted glass fixtures
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a really high-quality G9 LED bulb that provides smooth, uniform light distribution without visible hotspots.
I have a ceiling light fixture with a frosted glass globe (approximately 12 cm / 4.7 inches in diameter), containing a single G9 LED bulb.
The problem:
As you can see in the attached photos, several irregular bright spots are visible through the frosted glass. I suspect these are caused by the individual LED chips shining through the diffuser.
I find this quite distracting, especially since I’d like the entire glass globe to glow as evenly as possible, without visible LED dots, hotspots, or uneven brightness.
Has anyone found a G9 LED bulb that actually solves this problem?
Do fully frosted/opal G9 bulbs make a significant difference, or are there particular brands or designs that provide exceptionally uniform illumination?
I’m especially interested in specific product recommendations based on personal experience rather than generic suggestions.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations!

Need Design Advise Office lamp shades recommendations
I would like to use this lamp on my desk and am considering a lampshade that feels modern and slightly sleek. Ideally, I intend to position it in the window. The existing lampshade is the familiar white tapered drum.

Need Design Advise 0-10v dimmable wired fixture for t8 bulbs.
Trying to do some shop lighting connected to my home automation. It is a 16x55 building, planning on running 6x8foot lights (2 rows of 3) to the south of center, and same to the north, for a total of 12x8foot fixtures. I'd like to be able to dim them if possible.
I'm looking for an 4ft or 8ft T8 fixture that is prewired to use 0-10v dimmers. I'm planning on using a leviton z-wave switch, ZW15S-1RW, in combination with a PE300-D0W Power Extender, 0-10VDC Ballast Only to provide the dimming. I don't think i can use the native leviton z-wave dimmer ZW6HD-1RW, to do the dimming with or without the pe300-D0W.
I know i can get t8 tubes that support 0-10v dimming, but i need the fixture to be wired with the hot and neutral at one end, and the pink and purple from the pe300 on the other end. (ie single ended tubes). But i am trying to find a fixture that already has the un-shunted posts with the pink and purple wires. so far all i can find is single ended un-shunted fixtures, and would have to add the wiring for the pink and purple ends./
Now, if i can use the native zwave dimmer, without using the pe300, and either single or double ended tubes that support dimming, again i would like to know what fixture to purchase and what tubes?
I was planning on using 2200 lumen, 5K temp tubes, either 8 foot (4 tubes) or 4 foot (2 tubes). Assuming 8 foot fixtures, 6 fixtures, 24 tubes per circuit.
My home automation is all z-wave based, so don't really want to add anything else unless there is no option.

Need Design Advise Under cabinet lighting
Hello, I'm in the process of kitchen remodel and would like to do undercabinet lighting. The problem I'm trying to figure out is how to span a 5 foot gap between upper cabinets. Is there a led strip light product that you can terminate back to wire to span the gap, then back to lights for the rest of the uppers?

Need Design Advise Smart lighting recommendations?
For a while I have been using Ikea's (what I have recently learned) now old smart bulbs. The color selections weren't amazing or super vibrant but they were very easy to use and setup and the warm color choices were great. Most importantly, you could pair them to a physical remote and control them from there. I had a remote for each room.
However, as of today I went to buy some more for a new lamp and found out they do not sell them anymore and have instead replaced them with a new line of smart bulbs. they are pretty inexpensive so I considered moving to the new ones, but they reviews are very bad to the point of it putting me off from buying them.
Onto my question: I am looking at probably replacing the bulbs in my apartment with govee brand as phillips hue are a bit expensive right now. Is this a good move? any other recommendations?
Ideally, I would like to have a physical remote(s), that is pretty high priority for me so are there any suggestions? I do not have an alexa or anything similar and do not want to get one

Need Design Advise Feedback on basement lighting layout
Finishing my basement and looking for some feedback on my lighting layout. Attached a rough drawing and a couple pictures of the space.
Ceilings are 7.5’ and will be drywalled. Living room is roughly 15.5’ x 17.5’, with the bar on the other side of a beam that drops about 10”. Bar area is roughly 11’ x 17.5’ and flows into the stair landing.
Going for a warm, cozy feel without being too dark. I want it bright when needed but also able to dim down for a cozy feel. Planning recessed lights throughout, pendants over the bar island, and under-shelf lighting on both TV walls (living room built-ins and bar shelving).
My biggest headache has been working around the floor joists, HVAC, and plumbing. There’s not a lot of room in some of the joist bays, so canless recessed lights seem like the best option.
Current layout has lights roughly 55” apart. Does that seem like too many? Would you change the spacing or placement? How does the distance from the walls, beam, TV/built-ins, and HVAC drop look?
I’m leaning toward the 3” or 4” ELCO Koto Canless, but I’m open to cheaper alternatives that still have good light quality and dimming. Appreciate any input!

Need Design Advise Shopping for vanity and bathroom ceiling fixtures
I'm shopping for some new bathroom light fixtures, using mostly Lumens and Lightology. What is the specification I should be looking at in order to understand how much light the fixture generates?
I want to make sure that in addition to liking the fixture, it will produce enough watts/lumens/whatever to function well.

Need Design Advise Thoughts on these two lights?
Trying to illuminate the front of my garage/driveway for security purposes. I’m liking these two lights. It seems like they’re the same but one is bigger.
120 W would be awesome, but I suspect it may be overkill. Apparently, you can limit the brightness when you need to, but I’m also concerned it would look ridiculous on my one car garage.
Would love to hear everybody’s thoughts.

Need Design Advise Wall Sconces Set Lighting
amazon.comHi All,
Not sure what to make the flair exactly, but I bought a pair of Wall Sconces that come with these LED pucks with a magnetic bottom for lighting control. Their batteries unfortunately last maybe 4 hours max and I am curious if anyone knows a brand or website of similar LED light bulb with remote control that would be a quality replacement? Skip to 4th image in link to see what I am referring to.
Thanks!

Designer Thoughts How much gear do you think is in Amsterdam during ADE?
Random question, but does anyone have an idea of how much lighting and sound equipment is spread across Amsterdam during ADE?
I’m talking speakers, subs, moving heads, LED bars, lasers, the whole setup across all the clubs, warehouses and parties.
Does anyone have a rough estimate, or has anyone actually worked at events during ADE? Just curious about the sheer amount of gear that must be out there haha.
Probably millions of fixtures

Need Design Advise Recessed lights in stairwell location
I’m putting in 2 recessed lights in the slanted ceiling to illuminate my treacherous stairwell.
The stairwell is:
Wall - 2.5 ft of stairs - 1.5 ft of gap (that goes doesn’t to the ground floor.
My plan is to center is over the stair treads; so 1.25 ft off the wall. Alternatively I could center it on the slanted ceiling which is 2.5 + 1.5 = 4 ft or 2ft off the wall.
Just want to confirm the typically placement is centered over the stairs treads.

Find Me This Fixture Floodlight height question
Most Lowe’s and Home Depot floodlights recommend being mounted at 8-10 feet high. Are there motion sensor floodlights that reliably work mounted 20-25 feet off the ground? I want to put floodlights under my roof eaves but want to make sure they reliably detect motion.
Do the box store lights work well with motion detection?

Need Design Advise My Lights Are Too Bright
I've moved into a new apartment and the ceiling lights are way too bright and way too white for me. I'm not allowed to change them or install any kind of dimmer. I do have a lamp, but I would like to be able to still use these lights occasionally. They have a diameter of 13 inches and the silver accent circle is something I can attach a magnet to.
Is there any kind of product out there that can dim and/or warm this light up? Something I can stick to it or the ceiling so that it doesn't hurt my eyes so much? Something that's also not going to be a fire hazard so the building lets me keep it.
