I realize many here are young and may not know but the Brewers were originally the Seattle Pilots. Long story, and I encourage you to research it, but the franchise was essentially set up to fail and be moved out of Seattle as soon as possible.

This led to a lawsuit in which MLB admitted that it had wronged the city of Seattle and promised them an expansion team. This was in 1969 and eventually the Mariners were created as a direct result of this lawsuit for the 1977 season. But for those (my grandpa among them) that were looking forward to Seattle baseball at the highest level after 1969, the Pilots were stripped away in a series of events that share many similarities with the forced move of the Supersonics almost 40 years later.

I know Vogelbach and Bauers are on the Brewers and yes they are Really Fun To Root For, but some historical context shows that any true Seattle fan should never, ever, root for the Brewers.

Just as you should never ever root for the OKC Thunder.

Is it really down to just these two now? Yesterday it was reported there were unknown candidates still in play. I can’t get around the paywall as I normally do so am not sure if the title is misleading.

LETS FUCKING GO!!!!
