There's been a lot of changes to Game Pass and Microsoft Rewards of late, so here is a breakdown of the current maximum points available in the program in the United States as of October 2025. These points will vary by region and may change in time.
Let me know if I missed anything and I will update the list.

You can earn over 23,000 points per month equating to ~$25. Per year this breaks down to being about $108 from Xbox Rewards, and $188 from Bing Rewards.
GRAND TOTAL: 23,451 points = $24.69 Microsoft credit (if buying $5 cards for 4,750 points)
BING TOTAL 14,906 Points
Bing Mobile Search (100 per day * 30) = 3000
Bing PC Search (150 per day* 30 ) = 4500
Bing Daily Set (~40 per day * 30) = 1200
Bing Daily Set 10-day Streak Bonus (150 per 10-days *3) = 450
The middle activity has been known to fluctuate between lightspeed quizzes through the week and just needing to be opened through the weekend. The lightspeed quizzes don’t need to have the answers guessed. [under review]
The right activity is a daily poll to open through the week, sometimes it requires voting for an answer, other times it doesn't. [under review]
Monthly punch card:
The current monthly punch card for the website dashboard is located below the daily set
This usually lasts for a month at a time, expiring at the end of the month. Some regions can do all activities at once. Some regions have to wait to complete one of the activities per day. This appears to be around 50 points for completion.
More activities: This normally consists of actions to complete
If you have these, you will find them underneath your daily set and/or punch cards, usually worth either 5 or 10 points each. The only ones you need to click on are the ones that indicate points will be added with a golden + in the top right hand corner. You might also find that you have previous quiz options for further points if you hadn't already completed them at the time worth another 30 points each.
When it comes to the actual Bing PC searches, all you have to do is exactly that. There are reported instances where there are delays to searching, from a 5 second delay to a 15 minute delay, this seems to vary from person to person. This can also help you attempt to complete a quest for bonus 1000 points for simply searching each day.
Some have noted it can take up to 12 weeks to actually get the 1000 points as you only get one puzzle piece each completed week and there are 12 puzzle pieces.
There is also streak protection but it's still confusing for a lot of people, this - Streak Protection explained - is the closest we've come to actually understanding it and even then people are getting mixed results.

Some of these activities have been deliberately added or removed from users and are are now deemed targeted as a result. May also include activities such as Weekly console bonus and other activities such as Game Pass quests which can also be seen from the Rewards area on Xbox console.
Some users are also showing/receiving incorrect points when it comes to individual activities such as the daily login.
Unless you wish to donate points, make sure on the Rewards dashboard that you have Give Mode turned off.
The redemption limit is 550,000 per calendar year, resetting the first of January every year. This has been confirmed. There is no limit to the amount of points that you can earn
Microsoft and Xbox gift cards both go onto your Microsoft account balance instead of a code sent to your email address
You get 20 points per $ spent for digital purchases like games if you have Live Gold (GPU), 10:1 if you're level 2 without Live Gold, 1 point for hardware per $ spent
When mixing Rewards Balance with credit cards/debit/paypal, STOP. People often have issues and their payment method gets the total charge to it. Buy gift cards online instead for the remainder (you can find them on sale too)
Design lab does not allow purchases with Xbox/Microsoft gift cards from the Rewards program or purchased gift cards according to support
Auto-redeem is usually DELAYED a few days. If you are getting GPU you will receive a code in your email or redemption history. You cannot turn auto-redeem on or off in the last 5 days of a calendar month
Technical issues may appear where your account may show it's lost a streak, whether it's a daily streak, a weekly streak or any other streak. In the majority of times for this scenario, it tends to be a glitch where upon completion of the week that appears lost, your next week should put you back at the streak you had plus the glitched week
If specific activities are not working, they may not be available in your region or they may have been removed completely.
If the answer you’re searching for can’t be found here, search the subreddit using the search bar function with the relevant keywords before posting in case someone else has mentioned it
'Today's points' are not based on what you've earned that day. They are based on what you have earned from all activities over multiple days.
If you experience a technical issue with your account, including but not limited to your account being suspended, punch cards not tracking or redemptions not being approved, ensure you haven't unintentionally broken the terms of service and then contact the Microsoft Rewards Support Team
The terms of service that you've agreed to which involves rewards can be found here
This month is my the first month I have reached gold since the new system, and my Bing star bonus has been at 3000 consistently this entire month. Today, it went from that to 800. I don't know what I did wrong to lose 2200 points, is there any way I can get them back?
im def making a support ticket... what a fkn joke is this program
(I forgot to mention this detail: this change happened from one day to the next—literally overnight. Last week it showed 1,800, and today, out of nowhere, I see 60... I don’t understand.)
I recently joined MR but I'm not sure if these prices apply in Mexico as well, Is any one here from Mexico or in Mexico that has been able to use your points to cash any reward?
I opened my Outlook and saw there was an easy 20 points to redeem
I tried searching the sub reddit to see if anyone has mentioned it, which I could only find people mentioning about reading their emails (Which I don't have) not this
I clearly got enough to get credit since both playing the game and gamepass are checked. I tried unsuccessfully at 2AM initially (when my timezone changes over and I first noticed) then later in the day and also just half an hour ago left both running but never did get credit.
I recently pre-ordered GTA VI on my Xbox Series X for CAD $109.99 ($126.46 after taxes).
Before purchasing, I spent a considerable amount of time grinding Microsoft Rewards points until I had enough to redeem a CAD $50 Xbox gift card (around 34,315 points).
My intention was to use that $50 credit toward GTA VI and pay the remaining $76.46 using my Visa.
During checkout, I specifically selected my $50 Microsoft account balance as the primary payment method, with my Visa as the backup. Everything looked correct, so I went ahead with the purchase.
However, after checking my order history, I noticed that the receipt shows the full $126.46 total, with both my Visa and Microsoft account listed as payment methods. When I checked my Xbox account afterward, the entire $50 balance was still there.
I’m now confused about whether Microsoft actually applied my credit or charged the full amount to my Visa.
I understand this is a pre-order and that payment processing might work differently, but I specifically redeemed those Rewards points to reduce my out-of-pocket cost.
My questions are:
Is it normal for Microsoft account credit to remain untouched immediately after placing a pre-order?
Will Microsoft automatically deduct the $50 credit when the game is charged closer to release?
If my Visa was charged the full $126.46, can Microsoft apply my existing $50 balance and refund $50 to my card without cancelling the pre-order?
Has anyone experienced something similar with Xbox pre-orders and Microsoft Rewards credit?
I’d really appreciate any advice. I don’t want to lose my pre-order or have those Rewards points go to waste.
