World I summoned a black dragon level entity 😭
So I was just grinding my HR to 50 in MR events and suddenly this person decided to help me. It was so fun to see a very experienced player in action.
How can someone even reach such a level 😭 anyways, thank you stranger or it would have taken a few more mins for me to finish it (it's my first sos flair as I only play with one of my friends as a duo)

MHFU My god...I get it now...
I started my monster hunter journey in Rise when it came out. It was really fun and I will always love my insect glave. After getting bored though I figured I would try a different MH title but this time from the older generations because all I hear about them is how they just "felt" better to play. I picked up MHFU aaaand immediately put it down. I didn't get why people loved it so much. It was "clunky" and for some reason unbelievably hard. So then I tried MHGU for switch. It was fun...but it just felt...idk, not as grand as everyone painted it out to be.
I've gotten a major hankering recently to play old school games in general (Seriously, f*ck modern Sony and Nintendo buisness practices) and decided to give FU another try and idk man, something just clicked. Please, allow me to be the fifty eight thousandth person to say this but, THIS GAME IS PEAK. The deliberate and "just enough" simplicity of combat, the feeling of accomplishment after hunts (even in the early game), the scale of the world, and the deliberate pacing choices in the village (the Pokke farm and inventory managment) strike such a balance and honestly provide an experience newer gen games don't. Hell even the difficulty isn't BAD, it's just demanding, which just adds to the feeling of accomplishment. Idk man, I just love this game so far and am sad that I slept on it for so many years.
Is there anyone still playing this game? Or am I too late to the party :(

In this concept art we can see the detail that went into bringing the monster to this generation, both with and without its Gypceros jacket!

Discussion So what do we expect from this big boy?
Pretty basic question for all my fellow hunters. With Lao coming back in Ascendance what do we expect for them to change up about the hunt?

Discussion The wild kratts could survive in monster hunter?
just out of curiosity, how well do yall think the wild kratts (and maybe the rest of the cast like aviva, coky, jimmy and the villains) would deal with the monster hunter world if they were to be teleported there, as hapenned with geralt?
heck, now i want a fanfic about this.

Art The Black God, Akantor / The White God, Ukanlos
You know those times where you laying to go to sleep and have sudden inspiration? Yeah, well there I was last night thinking of Gravios, as one does, when I realized the torso I built for him would be a perfect starting point for Ukanlos and Akantor. Cut to 1:30 this morning where a very tired me had a complete Black God and White God built, and second gen as a whole finished.
! Warning ! : The two parts shown in the last render were miscolored on Akantor. Those pieces don't exist in the dark tan used for his tusks and dark gray used for his hind legs. This is fixed in the parts list on Rebrickable, but the renders and instructions still feature him with the wrong colors. Also, these guys are far less posable than I'd have liked, with their legs only having limited vertical rotation.
Instructions - LEGO MOC-281643 Mini Akantor and Ukanlos by Kora8196 | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO

Discussion If these two fat chuds from gen 2 were going to be added, would they actually work in the Rimechain Peak and Forgotten Machineworks arenas? Looking at their old fights and behavior im thinking they probably need their own custom arenas to function.

Discussion MH World is my first MH Game and CB is the second weapon I tried and enjoyed
My first ever monster hunter game was Monster Hunter World(PC). My friend told me to buy it so we could play together. I have 0 knowledge on the franchise/gameplay/gameplay loop.
It's been out in console for months at that point so I watched a couple of videos of it and thought looks fun!
I then watched weapon video guides and most of the YouTubers said Sword and Shield is a very good starting weapon so I thought I'll just use that.
Release day comes, August 9th 2018. I did a couple of hunts and found the Sword and Shield "boring". I mean compared to what I've seen to other weapons on the video guides that has like explosions, jumping slashes and HUGE wind ups.
I then rewatched some video guides and tried Charge Blade next. Video guides also said "Charge Blade is one of the most complex weapons in the game." And I was like "How hard could it be?"
First few hunts were horrible! But it didn't take me too long to get the hang of the loop of Charge Blade.
No shield charge:
Charge → Bank → Charge → Charge Shield → Bank → SAED
With shield charge:
- Charge → Bank → SAED
- Charge → Bank → Charge → SAED → Bank → SAED.
- Etc (AED is here)
Having a shield is really nice too. As a beginner playing MH, i'm not familiar with the small details and attack animations of the monsters so having a shield really helped me out.
I then practiced how to Guard Point. I practiced on Diablos, since it has a very predictable move set. Once I got the hang of it, it became second nature AND IT IS SO DAMN SATISFYING.
Diablos rushing and getting its horns break upon hit. Nergigante dive bombing and getting KOed on impact. I feel like Gandalf shouting "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"
Tldr: I think if Charge Blade is one of the first weapon you've tried it wouldn't feel too complex 😂

Rise Is it necessary to learn more than one weapon? Or is it better to marry just one?
I'm very new to these games, I tried World before, but I didn't get very far, and I understand that every game is different
Right now, I only have two stars in Rise...
So I got curious. So... Asking this assuming that each weapon deals a different type of damage. I use Long Sword, but I've noticed that certain parts of some monsters take less damage, yet they are breakable. So... do hammers or weapons like that break them more easily? And... is that actually useful, or is it 100% optional, and do you consider it just as difficult?
Also, do weapons like the Long Sword deal more damage to unprotected enemies, or do hammer-type weapons still deal more damage overall?

Iceborne Iceborn is going great so far. It’s big and I’m loving it!
Im like 50 hrs into iceborn (I’m a slow player, I’m taking my time) and so far it’s great.
I may be going a little insane sometimes (ähem Brachydios is hell on earth, but it always gets worse… ähem Barioth) but most monsters so far are cool and fun to fight.
Special shoutout to my favorite dlc monster so far, Bonboro! Their armor is the best!
Special F*ck you to the Barioth, it took 10 damn hours from me, why is that thing so damn hard to fight?!?
