MHFU My god...I get it now...
I started my monster hunter journey in Rise when it came out. It was really fun and I will always love my insect glave. After getting bored though I figured I would try a different MH title but this time from the older generations because all I hear about them is how they just "felt" better to play. I picked up MHFU aaaand immediately put it down. I didn't get why people loved it so much. It was "clunky" and for some reason unbelievably hard. So then I tried MHGU for switch. It was fun...but it just felt...idk, not as grand as everyone painted it out to be.
I've gotten a major hankering recently to play old school games in general (Seriously, f*ck modern Sony and Nintendo buisness practices) and decided to give FU another try and idk man, something just clicked. Please, allow me to be the fifty eight thousandth person to say this but, THIS GAME IS PEAK. The deliberate and "just enough" simplicity of combat, the feeling of accomplishment after hunts (even in the early game), the scale of the world, and the deliberate pacing choices in the village (the Pokke farm and inventory managment) strike such a balance and honestly provide an experience newer gen games don't. Hell even the difficulty isn't BAD, it's just demanding, which just adds to the feeling of accomplishment. Idk man, I just love this game so far and am sad that I slept on it for so many years.
Is there anyone still playing this game? Or am I too late to the party :(
