NASA Unprofessional Hiring process

I applied for quite a few positions at NASA and had 4 interviews. I found most of the hiring managers to be quite unprofessional and in some cases straight up rude.

I had one hiring manager email me saying I was selected and would recieve an offer... only for it to turn out that they actually wanted to hire someone else that happened to have the same first name as me. Another interviewer told me straight up that they weren't interested and they only interviewed me because they were required to interview a few veterans for each posting. Another interview half the panel couldn't even bother to pretend to pay attention to the interview at all. I thought this place was supposed to be top notch. Its disappointing that this is the reality.

Self Degree Pivot.

Good afternoon everyone! I’m currently studying Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT). I’m at an impasse right now. It’s my first semester back at community college, and I really love the future prospects for NMT. There seems to be a future market with the degree, the pay is very well, and you get to work with (seemingly) cool technology with patients. I see myself happy with the work, but I think I would want to do more in the future once I get a job in NMT; meaning I would want to go back to school for something.

However! My mind keeps wandering to want to work at NASA. I really like the idea of being a researcher of some sorts, working on spacecrafts, etc. I’m told that there are more careers at NASA than just being an aerospace engineer/mechanical engineer. My heart just really wants the challenge, I suppose.

I also ask this question very early on since I do not want my FAFSA assistance to be wasted. I’m literally taking any advice, as this is my first time asking this out loud to people.

Thank you all! Much love.
