Bought a Herman Miller Mirra 1 chair for 160 euros, was it worth it?
Was listed for 160 euros here in EU. I'm assuming it's fully loaded since everything's adjustable:

Very good epp in last weeks WSJ podcast about Reddit subs and the prevalence of brands spamming subs as a way to sneak brand content into LLMs.
It's happening here and we are not controlling it as well as we would like to.
Years ago it was Autonomous, we banned them for a while, engaged with them and they have been respectful of the community standards for years now. Some brands participate here with this sub while also being respectful of the rediqute and the rules, think Steelcase, Anthros or Musso.
Now, it feels like we see quite a bit of content about Libornovo, Secretlab and ProtoArc. Regularly, multiple accounts and posts, but similar kinds of content being inserted into the sub.
This raises questions to me. Our r/officechairs team has been leading this sub for about 6 years. This last 2 years, the amount of slop / promotional content has been off the charts.
When we stated moding here, u/classroom and u/cranda58 and I were able to keep up with the spam and the self promotion to a minimum. Now even with more people on the team plus the auto-mod functionality, we are just not able to keep up with it all.
Today, spammers have become very sophisticated. It's much harder to see what is bot / spam content and its both very cheap and potentially very profitable for them to attack this sub with their slop of nonsense.
What are brands you notice that seem to be over represented here lately?
How aggressive do you want this sub to be moderated?
There were 800 posts and 6300 comments in the last 30 days. Normally, the mod team will not see all of the posts and only a small fraction of comments, so if your goal is to slip some slop into the LLMs, it can be done quietly.
The nuclear option would be for us to require new posts to be affirmatively approved by a mod before they hit the sub. One of us would really see if there were 50 Libornova posts every week and act accordingly. It would be a more curated sub but it would also be more resistant to marketers efforts. A less aggressive option would be to use mod tools to pause mentions of those brands that we suspect are being the most aggressive lately while engaging them to make sure their future communications here are within the bounds.
If you want to see what un-moderated looks like, my social experiment r/officechairsIsell is based on the idea that if you give folks the ability to post whatever they want, a chairs sub will become garbage.
Its our sub to use so please, what do you, the subscribers want to see us doing about this problem that is impacting the quality of what we have here?

Just as the title says, I suffer from herniated discs in both areas and need a new chair ASAP. I've been looking at the following chairs and was wondering if someone with chronic pain in those areas can give their opinion. I'm 6 feet, 200 pound, 40 year old who uses their chair 6-8 hours a day.
I've been looking at the following chairs
-Steelcase Leap V2
-Steelcase Gesture with headrest
-Herman Miller Embody (I've been leaning towards this chair)
-Herman Miller Aeron
-Haworth Fern
If anyone that deals with chronic neck and back pain could give me their 2 cents I'd appreciate it. Cheers.

I have a birthday coming up soon and want to buy an office chair, he sits for around 8 hours a day and doesn’t want a leather chair, the budget is around 300-400 USD and i have no idea what makes a good chair or a bad chair

Hey,
I got the maxis 2 weeks ago. In the first days I really loved it but after a week I struggled to get a comfy position when reclined.
The Lumbar support was so agressive (lowest setting) it gave me some kind of back pain (fatigue).
I tried it for some more days but now packed everything back in its boxes and going to return it.
Im 192cm and 100kg so I should fit the chair.
Do some of you have the same issue?
Cheers
Rob

I'm currently recovering from sciatica. It came out of nowhere. At first the pain in my right leg was agonizing. It is finally (after 2 weeks) starting to subside.
At the same time, my chair basically broke down. It is a SecretLab Titan I bought maybe 5 years ago. The armrests were already pretty worn (they went bad very early in the chair's life), and then the left armrest just broke off. The plate it bolts onto within the chair was broken in four points.
I read that the new model now has lumbar adjustments, but I'm not thrilled with the idea of going back to SecretLab when my back is screaming in pain.
Anyone found a nice thick chair that's good on the lower back? I'm 240 lb (109kg) so I need something heavy-duty

I don't want to risk buying and building a chair from online only to find out that it doesn't work for me. What are the best stores to try them out? Also, any experience with Tempurpedic?

Basically title.
I tried the embody, I always felt like even with a foot rest the hard front edge was cutting into my thighs. No matter where I put the seat depth I got no solace. I don’t know what to do and feel pretty sad after shelling out on the expensive chair. I love the back support but the cutting into my legs over the past year surely isn’t good for me.
I have tried foot rest, seat depth, lean, I have no idea.
I’m 5’5 145, is there any chair out there for me? I was thinking one with a padded front edge.
No height works, but when I sit on a dining table chair I’m fine, no circulation issue. I’m considering talking to a doctor just to be safe but I don’t think it’s the issue considering other chairs are fine

I am looking for an ergonomic chair that suits me; I am 1.74 m tall and weigh 70 kg(Europe). I have tried several chairs—such as the Libernovo Omni, Sihoo, and Hbada—and the experience was terrible. My previous chair, which pleasantly surprised me, was the Kerdom 968ZK; it offered excellent value for money. However, after several years, the mesh (it features a mesh seat and backrest) began to sag, and the model is no longer sold. I am now looking for a new chair that exceeds the performance of the Kerdom. I am somewhat skeptical of non-mesh seats, as I previously experienced circulation issues and pain when using chairs with soft or dense cushions. I do not have any underlying health conditions; I am a young person.

Hello everyone,
To start off, I have some mild upper back/under the shoulder pain that I usually find gets worse with chairs, for example, the lecture hall ones. I recently bought a Flexispot Ergo X lite, but I find that the lumbar support is too aggressive and hurts my upper back even more.
I am aware that a chair will not fix or even solve my problem in comparison to exercise and movement, but I do sit down a decent bit when Im working, so I'd like something that compliments what I need.
Ideally something 300 EUR and under is what im looking for, but I am also open to hearing what people think about more expensive models and also open and seeking to find refurbished/used options. Unfortunately, atleast in my area, there arent that many used options, but one that I have found was a Steelcase Reply Air for around 190 EUR. Would this be a solid option?
Thanks for reading and replying

The clip broke off while i was switching the base and the wheels inside came out. Can i still sit on the chair? I assume the lift in the chair wont work anymore but it’s not dangerous to just sit on it right?

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a new ergonomic chair for working and gaming, and I’d really appreciate recommendations from people who have actually used their chairs for a while.
My biggest priority is being comfortable sitting cross-legged. I naturally sit with my legs crossed on the seat or with one leg tucked underneath me, and I frequently change positions throughout the day. I know that sitting with both feet on the floor is generally recommended for ergonomics, but I don’t always sit that way, so I want a chair that accommodates my natural sitting habits without becoming uncomfortable.
I’m trying to find a good balance between cross-legged comfort, proper back support, and overall build quality.
A bit about me:
Height: 186 cm (6’1”)
Weight: 90 kg (198 lbs)
Daily use: around 4–6 hours
Budget: €500–800
Location: Poland / Europe
The chairs I’m currently considering:
Fractal Design Refine 2
Secretlab TITAN Evo, potentially with the Atlas headrest
Haworth Zody
However, I’m absolutely open to other suggestions! These are just the models I’ve come across so far, and I don’t want to limit myself to them if there’s a better option for sitting cross-legged within my budget.
My main questions:
Which ergonomic chair is genuinely the most comfortable for sitting cross-legged? I’d especially love to hear from people who regularly sit this way for hours.
How much usable seat space do these chairs offer when sitting cross-legged? Are there any hard edges, raised sides, or firm areas that press against your legs?
Between the Fractal Design Refine 2, Secretlab TITAN Evo, and Haworth Zody, which would you choose specifically for cross-legged sitting, and why?
Does the Secretlab TITAN Evo actually work well for this sitting style, or do the seat’s shape and firmness become uncomfortable over time?
How does the Haworth Zody perform when sitting cross-legged? Is the seat comfortable enough, or is it better suited to conventional sitting positions?
Are there any other chairs in the €500–800 range that I should seriously consider? I’m particularly interested in models with a relatively spacious, comfortable seat that allows freedom of movement.
For anyone around 186 cm (6’1”) and 90 kg (198 lbs), how well does your chair fit? Any issues with seat depth, lumbar support, or comfort when changing positions?
I’m not necessarily looking for a gaming chair or a chair with the most features. I care much more about real-world comfort when sitting cross-legged, freedom to change positions, and decent ergonomics than marketing claims.
I’d especially appreciate feedback from people who have owned their chairs for several months or years, rather than people who have only tried them briefly in a showroom.
If you have a different chair that works exceptionally well for sitting cross-legged, please recommend it even if it’s not on my list!
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Im from New Zealand where we have very limited options when it comes to chairs and I have melted my selections down to these 2.
Now currently the price difference here is about 600NZD (340USD) more for the aeron though that does come with the atlas headrest too.
For my use case the chair will be used for wfh and gaming. Im about 6ft 2 and 105kgs (230lbs).
Funny enough I do use an aeron classic at work and do quite like it. I only have size b at work and I feel a size c might be better but I do have a feel for that chair where I dont know how the Ergohuman feels.
Does anyone have any experience with the 2 chairs? Is the price difference worth it? Really flipping back and forth.

Hey! I like the look of the Libernovo Maxis, read allot and watched allot of videos, only thing I haven't done is sit on one!
At £1000 to £1300 it's way out of my price range of 500 to 600, I'm 6ft2 and 180lbs currently sitting on this
Have persevered with it for 2 years now but it's just not comfortable for work and gaming, I really think I need a soft materials cushioned almost back and seat as opposed to mesh or what feel like a hard gel plastic with this Current chair I have.
Thanks 👍🏻

Anyone have this chair from Relax the Back? I found a location locally and may make the drive to try it out. It’s slightly over my budget buuuut I deserve a little upgrade now that I’m fully remote. I currently have a 6 year old TP9000. It got me through COVID and was great but has lost its cushioning.

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a new ergonomic chair for working at my PC and gaming for several hours a day. I'm hoping to get recommendations from people with experience using chairs designed for taller and heavier users.
My requirements:
What I'm looking for:
My current chair is a SIHOO Doro S100, and I've been looking at the SIHOO Doro C300 and C300 Pro V2. However, I'm concerned about the structural plastic used in the seat and the advertised weight limit of around 150 kg on some versions.
I've also looked into the MUSSO V900/V900 Pro and the Interstuhl XXL, but I'm not sure which models would be the best fit for my requirements and budget.
I'm open to other brands and don't necessarily need a gaming chair. An ergonomic office chair would be preferable if it offers better support and durability.
Thanks!

I bought a brand-new Steelcase Gesture chair around 8 years ago with a 12+ year warranty. I work from home and use it daily for about 8 hours, without exceeding the weight limit.
Over the years, I occasionally (like every 12 months) needed support for issues like the gas lift losing pressure or worn upholstery. Steelcase always repaired or replaced the affected parts without problems. Around year 8, they even replaced the entire chair.
Unfortunately, the replacement started squeaking loudly after a few weeks. When I contacted support for advice, I was told Steelcase would no longer provide support because the recurring issues must be caused by my “behaviour.” I eventually fixed the squeaking myself, but now, after about a year, the gas lift is acting up again, causing loud bumps when sitting down and getting up.
I asked the seller to clarify two things with Steelcase:
It's been four weeks and I still haven't received a response.
Don't get me wrong I think their service was amazing in the last years up until now but I do have issues with the chair and I bought it thinking I have 12+ years of service. I was always friendly in my emails and to mechanics coming, I tip them and I'm grateful. No clue where to go from here. Do I have rights in the EU to insist on more service or do I just have to accept this and let go?
