Hey everyone!
First of all, I’m really enjoying my Steam Frame so far! It’s my first VR headset, so I’m still pretty new to the whole VR experience. I’ve been using it regularly and I’m genuinely happy with it.
The only minor issue I’ve encountered is the initial connection with the Wi-Fi dongle. I usually have to unplug and reconnect it once or twice before the headset connects properly. I’ve already tried some of the Device Manager suggestions mentioned here, but haven’t found a completely reliable solution yet. Since my PC is in another room, I’m using an active USB 3.2 extension cable to position the dongle in my living room. Once the connection is established, everything runs smoothly, so it’s really not a big deal for me.
Anyway, my main question is about using the Steam Frame for media consumption beyond gaming, especially 3D movies and immersive VR videos.
I know I can access Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon Prime through the desktop, but what about actual 3D content?
Are there any convenient and legal ways to stream 3D movies or immersive VR videos without downloading files?
Ideally, I’d love something as simple as opening an app, browsing available content and watching it directly. Maybe I'm being a bit naive in hoping for such a simple solution, but I'm definitely open to alternatives if that's not possible. I'd just love to know what options are out there in the first place.
I’ve already come across a few discussions about VR media players and 3D content, but haven’t really found a satisfying answer. Maybe I’m just missing something obvious that more experienced VR users already know.
I’m also relatively new to Reddit. I actually discovered this community while waiting for the Steam Frame and really enjoyed following all the discussions and excitement leading up to its release.
So I’m curious: How do you guys watch 3D movies or immersive videos on your Steam Frame? Are there any apps, streaming services or platforms you’d recommend?
I’d really appreciate any suggestions or experiences you’re willing to share.
Thanks in advance!
