I was blindly dating a married man.
Once upon a time, there was a girl who had been blindly a mistress for almost two years. That girl is me 🥲 The exciting part is he wants to marry me and be his second wife lol he was good at hiding and lying for almost two years!! Now he keeps on messaging me and telling me to legalize our relationship. He keeps on repeating he will fight for me and will not stop until I will say yes as he loves me so much.
Now I don’t want to be involved in that Nationality who married their cousins!! Never again. It hurts when you trust the person so much but keep on lying to your face. Second wife?? For what?? To legalize his cheating face? Also, I cannot even imagine the feeling of him coming home to his other wife if ever. Like no woman deserves that treatment. Gosh where are the real men now????

Buying an iPhone 18 Pro in UAE and using it in Europe. Any experience with FaceTime restrictions?
Hi everyone!
I’m based in Europe and will be travelling to Dubai for a few days. I’m considering buying an iPhone 18 Pro there since it’s cheaper than in Europe.
However, I’ve read about FaceTime restrictions on iPhones sold in the UAE, and I’m trying to understand whether these restrictions still apply when using the phone outside the country.
My plan would be to:
- Buy the iPhone directly from an Apple Store in Dubai.
- Activate it using my European eSIM.
- Set the country/region to EU Country.
- Use it permanently in Europe.
Has anyone purchased a UAE iPhone and then used it in Europe with a European SIM/eSIM?
Does FaceTime (both video and audio) work normally once you’re back in Europe, or are there hardware/region-specific restrictions that cannot be bypassed?
I’m particularly interested in recent experiences with newer iPhone models, rather than older ones.
Also, have you noticed any other limitations compared to European models?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

Gymnation Reality Check
Dear Gymnation,
Thank you for all the support that you have shown towards my subscription of your membership. I am not justifying my action here but there has to be some rules and laws to protect the users right ? While joining i was offered a package to good to be true and I simply put my apple pay. Due to some reasons I had to shift to a much more farther location but still I was paying because the amount was not that big but after 3 months suddenly the fees doubled. I was still paying again but I tried to cancel and everytime they asked me to pay the upcoming month then some weird account team will contact me for my cancellation and they would ask 100s of questions along with justifications. Fast forward to 9 months of payments I cancelled my card because I lost my job due to war situations and could not afford another extra dime. Explained the situation to gymnation team again and same robotic answer pay the upcoming month then we will transfer to cancellation team. OK another 2 month paid. So now its 11 months paid out of 12 months contract and mind you I have used their facility only for 2 months and since I did not read the offer conditions I am paying extra for last 8 months. Since offer was valid for only 3 months.
Now my message to gymnation i will not pay the last month and never going to cancel my membership please continue to charge me until I am alive and if ever you decide to goto court because I am seriously not afraid of your internal threats, lets fight this in court of law. And I will make sure you loose not the case but definitely your reputation as a subscription based provider in UAE.

Can a UAE employer end your 6-month probation early without consent and force a 3-month notice period? MoHRE giving conflicting advice
Posting on behalf of a family member working at a private school in Dubai.
Her signed contract explicitly states a 6-month probation period, during which she can resign with 14 days’ notice if leaving the UAE.
Less than two months into employment, the school unilaterally confirmed all teachers had passed probation, without their agreement (they’ve also done this in previous years). This effectively changed their notice period from 14 days to 3 months. The 3 months is also not effective till the end of term, so would be effective after 31st December taking her notice to 1st April 2027.
She challenged this, as her contract specifically states probation lasts six months and confirmation takes place at the end of that period. HR insists they can end probation early without consent.
She’s now resigned to leave the UAE entirely, giving the full 14 days’ written notice under her original contract.
She visited MoHRE, who registered a formal complaint and verbally advised that the school couldn’t override her contractual probation period.
However, the school claims MoHRE told them the opposite and is threatening to pursue compensation for the unserved 3-month notice period.
Neither side has written confirmation of MoHRE’s advice.
My questions:
Can an employer legally shorten an agreed 6-month probation period without consent, particularly when it increases the notice period?
Can the school enforce 3 months’ notice despite her original contract and the 14 days she’s already served?
Has anyone experienced conflicting MoHRE advice or dealt with a similar dispute?
Would really appreciate any advice, especially from anyone familiar with UAE employment law!

I built a free UAE credit card comparison tool, v3 is live: 173 cards, 24 banks, cashback calculator
Hey everyone,
A few weeks ago I shared CardSouk here. Thanks for the feedback, it shaped this update.
I'm an AI Transformation Manager based in Dubai, and I built this for the community to help you pick the credit card that actually suits your needs, without signing up for anything.
What's new in v3
- 173 cards from 24 banks.
- Cashback calculator : enter your monthly spend (groceries, dining, fuel, bills...) and it ranks the cashback cards by what they'd really pay you, after caps and minimum-spend rules
- Cards I qualify for: pick your salary band and cards above it drop to the bottom. Filter by cashback, miles, lounge, Islamic cards, no min spend
- Compare up to 5 cards side by side: fees, waivers, min salary, reward rates. Shareable link
- Redesigned, cleaner and faster, with card art
Free, independent, no sign-up. Figures come from each bank's own pages (checked October 2026) and were organised with AI. Please confirm with the bank before you apply.
Here is the Website 🔗 cardsouk.site - Enjoy!

Who the Hell Designed This Battery Packaging? Even Hulk Needs a Tutorial 💀😂
Bro, I just wanted to open a tiny battery pack, not unlock a secret military weapon. 😭
This packaging is tougher than a bank vault. I tried my nails, scissors, and every tool available, and this thing still refuses to surrender.
At this point, even Hulk would be standing there confused, looking at his hands and asking, “HULK SMASH… BUT HOW OPEN?” 💀
WHY DOES A BATTERY NEED MORE SECURITY THAN A NUCLEAR LAUNCH CODE? 😂
I swear, the battery will probably die of old age before I manage to get it out.
Has anyone else fought a battery package and lost their dignity in the process? 🤣

Visas for Lebanese - Rejection rejection rejection… 🫷
So I’m curious, how’s it been for my Lebanese fellows?
I work at a company based in the UK, I am based in Lebanon, and I manage clients in the UAE.
I have applied for a tourist visa multiple times to the UAE with the intent to:
- Visit the many friends I have living there
- Connect with my clients who.. love me :)
I’ve lost count but I can safely say I’ve gotten rejected over 8 times now, with the last one being today (I waited 5 months since my last rejection but nothing changed).
What exactly is it that UAE is worried about? Especially when they should know I’m happy in my home country and have no bad intent, assuming they have all the data they need. I’m going, coming back, and life goes on.
It’s not the worst thing to happen in the world, but would have been nice to be able to visit the UAE and meet the people I want to meet and then come back to Lebanon, my home country.
Anyone here shares a similar story? And anything you were able to do that helped you?

Why South asians are looked down Upon in Dubai?
I've been living in Dubai for a while now, and there's something I've increasingly noticed that genuinely bothers me: the casual prejudice towards South Asians and how normalised it seems to have become.
Whether it's scrolling through TikTok and seeing some Arabs mock each other by calling someone "Indian," as though it's an insult, or witnessing subtle stereotypes in everyday interactions, it makes me wonder why certain nationalities are treated as inherently less sophisticated than others.
Today, I experienced something similar at Barry's, a well-known premium fitness studio. While a trainer was explaining how the workouts operate, he randomly asked where I was from. When I told him Pakistan, he responded with a smirk, "Your accent doesn't sound Pakistani."
I immediately called him out and asked whether he would make the same comment to a white European. He apologised, but only after I called him out.
What bothered me wasn't the question about my nationality. It was the assumption behind his reaction. What exactly is a Pakistani supposed to sound like, and why should my accent surprise anyone?
It also made me question something broader: Why are South Asian accents so frequently stereotyped or ridiculed, while British, Italian, Spanish or other accents are often perceived as charming or sophisticated?
Everyone has an accent. English isn't the first language of many Europeans or GCC nationals either, so why are South Asians so often singled out?
I genuinely wonder why, in a city built on diversity, we still struggle to treat that diversity with equal respect.

3 pet health myths I hear all the time as a vet
Here are three that come up constantly in the clinic.
- “Diarrhoea needs antibiotics.”
Most of the time, it doesn’t. Antibiotics are often reached for out of habit, but many cases don’t need them, and they can upset the good bacteria in the gut and make things worse. Veterinary guidelines have moved away from using them routinely for diarrhoea. If your pet has diarrhoea, especially if it’s bloody, lasts more than a day or two, or comes with vomiting or tiredness, get them checked. And if your vet has prescribed something, finish the course they gave you.
- “Let them lick the wound, saliva is antibacterial.”
Not really. A pet’s mouth carries plenty of bacteria that are harmless there but can cause real trouble once they get into skin or deeper tissue. That’s why bite wounds can turn serious so fast, and why cats in particular can end up very unwell from a wound that looked minor. If your pet has a wound, keep them from licking it and have a vet look at it.
- “My cat needs milk.”
Cats don’t need it, and many of them are lactose intolerant, so it can give them an upset stomach. Fresh water is what they need.
What other myths have you heard? I’m happy to look into any of them.

Does Starting Life Without Money Put You at a Huge Disadvantage Today?
With wars, global uncertainty, inflation, expensive living costs, and growing competition, I sometimes wonder how an ordinary person can get ahead today.
If you’re in your 20s, entering professional life with no family wealth, no connections, and very little savings, do you feel you still have a fair chance of becoming rich?
Living in a place like Dubai, you see wealthy people everywhere, and it can seem like money makes almost everything easier for them, while others work hard just to survive.
Do you think hard work and smart decisions are still enough to build wealth from nothing, or does your starting point matter more than ever?

Weird encounter in Meena Bazaar, Dubai. Did | get scammed?
Yesterday, a Pakistani guy approached me in Meena Bazaar, asking to use my phone because he was lost and wanted to contact his friend. I refused, saying I wasn't comfortable sharing my number. He then asked for my hotspot, which I also declined.
Next, he asked for AED 1 to buy water. Feeling bad for him, I opened my wallet and gave him AED 5. He started praying for me, we shook hands, and I left.
Later, I discovered that the AED 500 note I had folded and kept inside my wallet was missing. I clearly remember having it, and I can't recall anything suspicious happening. I also felt there was enough distance between us for him not to reach my wallet.
I've replayed the whole encounter in my head, but | still can't figure out what happened.
Has anyone experienced something similar in Dubai?
Could this have been a distraction scam, or did I simply misplace the note?

UAE: Can my employer force me to pay visa costs when I resign despite what MOHRE told me?
Hi everyone,
I need some advice regarding my employment situation in Abu Dhabi.
I am currently working for a private company, and my employment contract includes a two-year commitment, a one-month notice period, and a clause stating that I may have to pay visa-related costs if I leave before completing the commitment.
I have now received another job offer in the UAE and am planning to resign from my current job. However, I am worried because I know my manager will likely ask me to reimburse the company for my visa expenses.
I have already contacted MOHRE and explained the visa-cost clause in my contract. They told me that I should not have to pay these costs because charging employees for visa expenses is against UAE labour law.
However, I am still concerned about how things will go when I actually submit my resignation, as my manager may insist that I pay despite what MOHRE told me.
I would appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation.
My questions are:
- Has anyone been asked by their employer to repay visa costs after resigning, even though MOHRE said the employee should not have to pay?
- If my manager insists that I pay, what should I do?
- Can my employer deduct these costs from my final settlement or delay my visa cancellation if I refuse to pay?
- Does the two-year commitment in my contract change anything if I serve my one-month notice period?
- Would you recommend contacting MOHRE again if the employer demands payment?
I am willing to follow the proper resignation process and serve my required notice period. I just want to make sure I understand my rights and know how to handle the situation if my employer insists on charging me.
Thank you for any advice or for sharing your personal experiences.

Job opportunity?
Hello people of UAE!
I am Furqan from srilanka!
So I plan to apply for jobs in UAE around mid 2027.
Specifically for IT Support roles (L1, L2, or L3)
L1 - 3 years experience
L2 and a bit of L3 - 2.7 years experience
I did a bit of research and found out there are jobs for approximately 5 - 7k dihrams. I know that's not enough and its gonna be suffering for one year but i just want to get my legs on the dubai job market.
I heard that's its quite competitive, but nothing goes wrong in applying right?
Also I wanted to mention that I do have a advantage which is that my brother already lives there, I dont plan on living with him since he has his own family and i dont want to be a burden.
So what do yall think? Can I survive (atleast barely) on that salary or is it fake? And whats the typical amont for the position I am looking for? Also any advice I need to know?
