😡 Venting Just realized how much of my life has been taken by trump
When I graduated high school on 2013 I was 18. Trump admin started in 2016. So from the age of 18 I only had two to three years of life without trump. Since then I have been dedicated to putting out the wildfire that is trump and the gop. It has been lonely at times but at least I'm proud of myself.
Realizing that basically my entire life has been dedicated to stopping trump is upsetting. He stole 10 years. He stole my 20s and now he's stealing my 30s. I've dedicated so much and the GOP keeps getting stronger people keep getting dumber. In other ways things have changed a lot in 10 years and we have made a lot of progress. I never thought I would see such a mass anti genocide movement for a long time.

💸 Raise Our Wages Weeks ago, unionized staff at SEIU voted down management’s “last, best, and final” and brought management back to the table but still no deal. Today we took action at SEIU HQ in DC to tell the SEIU President’s senior exec team that we demand a contract that ensures a fair cost of living adjustment!

😡 Venting Does reducing poverty also benefit the broader economy? What IMF, USDA and other research shows
I've been looking at research on the economic effects of reducing poverty and improving financial security.
One IMF study found that a larger income share for lower-income households was associated with stronger economic growth. USDA research also estimates that SNAP spending can generate additional economic activity during a slowdown.
The findings made me interested in how we evaluate the benefits and costs of public programs.
What measures should we use to determine whether a program benefits not just its recipients, but the broader economy?
