Guns & Ammo Bodyguard 2.0 First Shots

Purchased on sale from Cabela’s about a month ago. When I went to pick it up it wouldn’t lock back so I refused it. Luckily they had another one. I’ve dry fired it and racked the slide a bunch but didn’t get to the range until today.
150 rounds of Blazer and 20 rounds of Federal Punch ran without any malfunctions. Still working on my grip with it since it’s so small. And getting used to the trigger which is noticeably lighter than my Shield Plus. Got a blister on my support thumb from resting it on the takedown lever.
Overall I’m happy with it and seem to have gotten a good one. Need another range day or two before I’ll be comfortable with it I think.

Guns & Ammo Has Kimber figured their stuff out already? Anyone have experience with the Micro .380?

• Upvotes

Kimber suffered under Ron Cohen for quite some time, but have they normalized now? Is it back to being a legit company or still making crappy guns?
I ask about the micro .380 bc i like the way it looks, if i were to buy one it wouldn't be because i think it beats anything else, just think it looks neat.

Manager followed me to the front of the store to see how it rang up. He was cool tho and sold it to me for the price on the box.🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m not usually a big fan of rural king, but they did good today.

Guns & Ammo 22 trainer for fundamentals?

• Upvotes

So I’m looking to pickup a 22 for some fundamental practice. I’ve heard lots of folks talk about some regular .22 practice really helped them.

I’m between 3 guns.

S&W 22x, ruger mk3/4 and the 22/45 mk3/4.

Not here to debate dry fire, or the fact the smith is a trainer and the other is a target pistol, just curious if anyone has a strong preference. Leaning toward the ruger, but unsure which grip style to go for.

Thanks!

Holsters & Belts Belts for office carry?

I’ve been carrying a Glock 45, holosun EPS red dot, streamlight TLR-7 light for 3 years. I typically use a T-Rex arms holster, just what I bought early on in my CCW journey.

I recently started a new job, (finally got away from night shifts) and the leather belt I wear with my suit has stretched horribly and no longer conceals well enough for the office. It’s a gun friendly office, two others carry, so typically it’s not a big deal. But a client noticed and complained a few days ago, boss stood up for me, but asked that I take steps to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I need a rigid core leather belt, currently eyeballing the Nexbelt Rogue.

The belt should be dressy-ish leather to avoid another client incident. Any suggestions? Holster feedback is also welcome, Lord knows I catch enough shit for it already.

M&P 2.0 Compact 4” FDE
Floyd’s customs edc magwell
Floyd’s customs +2ag base plate
Stream light TLR-7X in FDE

If you’re on the fence about the Magwell for the compact frame & worried about how comfortable it’ll be I think it depends on how fat your fingers are in all honesty, my pops has hands just as large as mine but has way fatter fingers & he could only get 2 fingers on the grip with the magwell installed😭😂

Getting Started Which is the better pick? Glock 19 gen 6 or Springfield Echelon 4.0c

Hey guys, I’m looking to get a new pew. Glock is obviously very proven and I really like the gen 6 updates. However, Ive also heard and seen great things from the Echelon 4.0c.

Reliability/durability is my most important metric. Second would probably be ergos or just everything else.

Some people have experienced or claimed to experienced mag durability issues with the Echelon. Beyond that I can’t find any other real faults. I’ll also be mounting a red dot, not sure which one yet. Keep that in consideration because some mounting systems are superior/inferior to others in regard to durability/reliability I hear.

Let me hear your thoughts. TIA

Floyd’s customs Magwell & +2 base plate.
I’ll be throwing some “custom classic” irons from Ameriglo on this as well & I’ve got a certum 4 from Tenicor on the way too

Put about 300 rounds of some blazer 124 grain and a few mags of some federal HSTs through it yesterday without a hitch & mann this thing is sweet 😮‍💨

Getting Started CCW Ammunition Selection Bingo

Post image

If anyone has any questions about ammunition, please refer to the card. It's about what you're gonna get here, no matter how you phase it, with the possible additions of:

-Unpromped plug for high energy .357 Magnum from Buffalo Bore/Underwood.

-Reccomendation of non-expanding projectiles based on a questionable 2017 whitepaper.

-Random comment of "I just use X because that's what was in stock at the local gunstore during COVID".

-Heavily downvoted comment of "i dunno, i use whatever it all works i guess"

-Highly upvoted, similar, but more authoritative comment of "Just about everything works good enough, just use what works for you."

As a side note, the HST/Gold Dot are legitimately decent reccomendations.

Guns & Ammo Shadow CR920 - Worth the Buy?

Hey all. My LGS has a CR920 with the bronze barrel (Elite version?). It also comes with a Holosun EPS carry. They have it listed for $530. Serial number is 043XXX, so maybe a more recent model?

I've heard mixed things about reliability with these. I loved how it felt and fit my smaller hands, and the optic is a huge bonus.

What do y'all think? Worth it, or is "just get a Glock or M&P" still the answer that reigns supreme?

Other Equipment Mantis questions

Since they’re not cheap I want to get some input on these systems. The MantisX and the Laser Acedemy are different systems but both are interesting to me. I can see the benefit of both for someone working on trigger control as well as practice. Yes, they’re cheaper than ammo overall but I’d consider getting both since they work on different areas. Any input is appreciated

Anyone know of a good Kayden IWB holster for a G43x MOS with an Olight Baldr Mini attached? Seems to be the one combo that doesn’t have a standard holster.
