Fallout 1.5: Resurrection is the hardest Fallout experience I've ever experienced.

First of all, I want to say that this isn't a hate post about this mod. On the contrary, I've put in about 20-25 hours playing it so far, and I'm really enjoying it.

I'm Czech, so naturally I knew about this mod right away, and it was really interesting to play the classic Fallout with a fully Czech UI and everything else. I also appreciate that the mod is more like the first game than the second, because personally, I prefer the smaller scale and the more seriously dark writing of the first game. Of course, there are aspects like the lack of talking heads or new features that games like Sonora or Nevada introduced, but it’s still a great experience for me.

For me, the biggest problem, but also a great feature, is the mod’s difficulty. Even though classic Fallout was always hard, I always felt like I was actually gradually improving my character and managing to rise to every challenge. Unfortunately, with this mod, I ran into the problem for the first time that I had to put off any combat-based quests until later, and even toward the end of the game, I still can’t really survive any tougher fights.

I also feel like I had trouble getting good loot at first, and the prices are ridiculously high. But this actually fixes one of the things that ruins the later parts of Fallout for me, where the character starts to become way too overpowered. For example, after looting “The Glow” in Fallout 1, I felt like I didn’t really need to do anything other than follow the main storyline.

This is really just me writing down my thoughts, and I plan to keep playing this great mod. Thank you to the developers, and I hope everyone reading this has a great day.

Short animation I made of an NCR soldier, this was kindly commissioned.
I tried to stylize it a bit like the OG Fallouts, particularly the aspect ratio.

Is this the inspiration for the masters speech patterns?

This is a stretch for sure, but I couldn’t help but hear the similarity in contrast between the male and female voice ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It kind of looks like a megaphone or a speaker, but I don't think it is. Kind of reminds me of the book cover illustration of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream

Golden Wind Run

Hello, Wastelanders!
I’m a huge fan of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and *Fallout: New Vegas*. The other day, I had a completely absurd yet fascinating idea: what would it be like to play through the Mojave as Giorno Giovanna himself? (Yes, the favorite son of that metrosexual vampire, DIO).
I’ve put together some rules, stats, and an aesthetic to ensure the playthrough feels 100% canonical and fun, without breaking the gameplay. I’m sharing them here in case anyone else wants to give it a try—or just let me know what you think!

  1. Character Creation and Stats (SPECIAL)
    SPECIAL: S: 4 | P: 6 | E: 4 | C: 8 | A: 7 | L: 6 (A charismatic, agile character with good luck—slender in build, yet lethal with his bare hands).
Traits: Small Frame (to reflect his slim physique) and Good Natured.

Key Perks: Confirmed Bachelor (naturally—he’s got that irresistible charisma!) and perks focused on pistols and melee/unarmed combat.
Tag Skills: Guns (revolvers only), Unarmed/Melee (bare fists or stylish brass knuckles), and Speech.

  1. The Golden Rules (The "Golden Dream" in the Mojave)

  2. No drugs, no alcohol: Giorno is underage and detests narcotics. He may only consume non-alcoholic beverages, Stimpaks (strictly for survival), and purified water. No trafficking or selling drugs.

  3. A Gentleman of the Wasteland: Never initiate combat—whether melee or armed—against humans or factions; let them speak or fire first (true "golden justice" doesn't strike the innocent from behind).

  4. High-Fashion Style: You must wear tailored formal suits (ideally in pink or vibrant colors—use mods if necessary) and sport a bright, blonde hairstyle. No heavy armor or ugly Wasteland helmets allowed (at most, a stylish fedora).

  5. Limited Weaponry: Use only revolvers and your bare fists (or fancy casino-style brass knuckles). Shotguns, automatic rifles, and heavy weapons are strictly prohibited.

  6. Neutrality and Dominance: Do not align yourself with the NCR, the Legion, or Mr. House. Your goal is to side with Yes Man to rule New Vegas like a true \*Passione\* boss—commanding respect and bankrupting the casinos thanks to your high Luck stat.

  7. Dealing with Monsters: You are permitted to take down Deathclaws, hostile creatures, and rogue robots as a necessary survival measure.

Extra The Gomorrah Takeover: Infiltrate the Gomorrah casino, deal with their corrupt operations, and make them idolize and bow down to you—ultimately establishing yourself as the supreme mafia boss, proving that your version of Passione runs this town

What do you think of this build? Would you add any other rules to make it more challenging or more faithful to the anime? Let me know in the comments!

I am aware that many people have shared their Claude projects and I'm sorry for piling on, but I would like to get some feedback on what I have created. I am currently developing it just for fun and as a personal mod, but maybe it could be useful for others? Just let me know if you consider it to be slop.

Fallout 2 patches/mods

After so nice feedback on my Hughwayman model here, i got a horrible ithch to re-complete a game once again (if not mistaken, for a 5-6th time now :D) and wanted to ask - do any of you, wastelanders, ghouls and ghauls (;D) know any good mods/patches for a game, that fix some of the pesky issues, that fallout 2 sadly has, but without braking the immersion to much. By that i mean mods, like one that adding a broken quest-line of finding Suliks sister, wich got forgotten in original game.

Don't get me wrong, i know, how to google, but if someone already have working set of them, it is much better than mix and match blindly :)

Stay safe out there, and don't walk on toxic waste without your trusty rubber boots :)

Fallout 2 RPU 2.4.34 Sulik keeps unequipping power fist. This a bug?

So I dunno if this i s a bug, but its incredibly annoying. He is set to Unarmed, has over 200 cells for it, so ammo is no problem. Pressing use best weapon, he will indeed equip it.... for that screen. As soon as i leave the area im in, he unequips the power fist and will be using nothing, punching with his bare fists if there is a fight.

...why? I have to tell him equip it every single time i go anywhere.. Also, he sometimes will unequip it mid battle for no reason at all. Suddenly going from 40 damage hits to 0 damage.

The mega power fist is so much better than the ripper for him IMO.. its really weird he wont use it correctly. Never had the problem in the other RP versions. Anyone know whats up with this? I'm probably just gonna have him use the ripper instead.. Still found it odd.

I ported Fallout 1 Community Edition to Wii U—with touchscreen inventory and dual-screen support!

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on an unofficial Wii U port of Fallout 1 Community Edition, and the first public test release, v1.0.0, is available now.

I wanted to make good use of the GamePad while keeping the game comfortable to play with a controller.

Features include:

  • Expanded-world mode with gameplay on the TV and the HUD on the GamePad.
  • GamePad inventory, Pip-Boy, and automap.
  • Touchscreen inventory drag-and-drop and dialogue selection.
  • Mirrored dialogue, character, barter, Skilldex, and pause/options screens.
  • Controller support with fast and precise cursor movement.
  • Quicksave and quickload, with confirmation before loading.
  • An in-game controls reference.

Download and installation instructions:
https://github.com/cody4504/fallout1-ce-wiiu/releases/tag/v1.0.0

Aroma and RPX packages are available. You need your own legally purchased copy of Fallout and its original game files—those aren’t included.

This port builds on the work of the Fallout Community Edition contributors and the existing 3DS port contributors. Thanks to everyone whose work helped make it possible!

It’s a public test release, so bugs may remain. I’d love feedback on the controls, GamePad layout, and any issues you encounter. Please report bugs through GitHub Issues, ideally with steps to reproduce them.

Hope you enjoy exploring the wasteland on Wii U!

Fallout Sonora installation

Hi all,
I was wondering if any of you installed Fallout Sonora from this github: https://cambragol.github.io/Fallout-Sonora/download/, I have heard that it’s the most convenient way, and the installation package is already in English. I’m a little bit afraid if it’s 100% safe to download and install it, I have heard that one of the resource packs for Fallout engine might contain a trojan.
If you have any experience with it, can you please share if it’s really the best and safest way to experience Sonora?

Thank you all in advance!

What could a bad/evil ending to Fallout 2 have looked like? (Fallout 1 style)

In Fallout, the bad ending was the VD joining The Master and betraying their Vault, no doubt leading to The Unity becoming the undoubted rulers of the Wasteland.

In Fallout 2 though, apart from the induvidual bad endings for each settlement, there's no overall bad ending or cinematic unfortunately.

Fallout 3 addresses what a "protagonist siding with the Enclave" ending, with the player accepting President Eden's FEV and poisoning Project Purity with it, might've looked like, although that should have led to the Lone Wanderer's death too given they weren't born in an unirradiated environment.

Thoughts? FO2's Enclave is hellbent on killing anyone that isn't them, including The Chosen One. Could the Chosen One have perhaps killed President Richardson and then taken over The Enclave for themselves, utilising their technology to dominate the Wasteland? I'm picturing a cinematic where they get elected on the Oil Rig, followed by fleets of Vertibirds flying over major settlements or something.

Community Edition On IOS

Ive installed the first two games on my iPhone via side loading. When run the second game creates a finder to put the game files in and when that’s done the game runs.

This does not happen with the first game and no folder is created and thus I have no where to put the files.

I can’t find any contact info for the developer or a forum specific to the community edition so does anyone have any ideas on how to get the first game to run?

Also does this version support stall at all?

Fast shot ability vs being able to aim for fallout 2?

Which deals the best damage per turn? Is it better to deal as many attacks in a single turn as possible or is it better to use the aim mechanic to target specific body parts?

And if aiming deals the most damage, how do I know which body part I should target?

Extremely dumb question but

How do people get thrown into the Mariposa military cells? I have so much time in this game and I've never had it happen. And no matter what I try Lou just beats my ass. So I'm just curious.

Made myself a Highwayman

Just wanted to show off model of Chryslus Highwayman, that i made out of birch ply sheets. And was thinking it can be appreciated here :)

Im not a fastest worker, but in totall, from blueprint (cause could not find any dimensions, drawn partly from Cadillac series 62 '59 and partly Chevy bel air) to fully coloured, in a over half year.

I tried to keep it as close to "game-looking" as possible, but managed to do few mistakes here and there to material and skill limitations, but still, kind'a proud of result. So, here is a vehicle from one of my favourite games ever:

Are big guns and energy weapons as useless as small guns in the endgame?

I played fo2 for the first time earlier this year. I ran a small guns/hand to hand character and was very frustrated with how useless small guns were towards the end of the game. Despite having over 120 skills and the best gun (P90) i would still miss half the time when fighting people in power armor, aliens, centaurs, and related late game enemies. Even when I would hit it would often be “hit for no damage” which, whoever programmed that should go to jail.

So I eventually gave up and would fight with the super power fist with several layers of hand-to-hand perks I would actually hit the enemies and damage them. I suspect melee and guns are calculated differently. But I still needed a full set of followers.

This has me thinking about replay ability. There are several required boss fights with no option to talk your way out of like the first game had. I mean vault 15, basement of the oil rig, Harrigan. So I need some kind of combat skill.

Will big guns or energy weapons actually hit endgame enemies? Or will they be as useless as small guns which means you have to do super power fist every game?

edit everyone is telling me what small guns I should use instead, which is not what I’m asking. I’m done with that playthrough. I’m asking will big/energy work on late game enemies and general advice on how to run a big/energy character. I thought skills capped at 140 since my hand to hand wasn’t going up past that, so I thought 120 was high. People have already said it goes higher but you have to add multiple points. Don’t keep telling me 120 isn’t high.
