You may or may not have seen the update posted by USPS earlier this week that they will be changing rates every single week in 2027 for fuel surcharges, so my shipping updates posted on this sub will be more selective from here on out.

I just a got hit with a payment dispute from a buyer. This is new for me so I could use some advice. The item sold Sunday. Shipped Monday. It is currently on the truck for delivery.

What info do I need to upload for this? It is suggesting pictures. Do I just screenshot things like the delivery tracking and the order info?

I sold a high value electric device internationally. The buyer claims it doesn’t work （with an error code that can’t be reset) and opened an INAD return yesterday.

I have evidence:
- The buyer had previously sent me a photo showing the device turned on without an error code.
- The buyer admitted altering the item. ( I think he probably broke it in the process.)
- The buyer said, “I’ll keep it if you give me a substantial partial refund or I’ll return it.” ( I believe this is against eBay rules?)

I haven’t accepted the return yet. What is the best course of action going forward?

Is it true the best I can do now is to accept the return, then appeal after receiving the item?

Or should I Contact eBay right away? Should I accept return before contacting eBay? Should I ask eBay to step in?

I just found out they have phased out eBay gift cards. Has anyone seen leftover stock at any specific big chain stores lately though?

I sold a designer purse over $500. It was authenticated and then sent to the buyer. The buyer is claiming it was damaged (it was not. 2/3 of his pictures show no damage, and 1 shows a spot that wasn’t there in my original listing, but alas). eBay automatically approved the return.

First the buyer asked me for a partial refund, and then said they wanted to return. I told them to go through eBay since the authentication process included confirming the item was accurately described.

Isn’t part of the authenticity process confirming that the purse was accurately described? How can the buyer claim INAD?! How is this possible?

FWIW I had no returns allowed on the purse, so INAD would’ve been his only choice.

I recently sold a pair of shoes and after all the fees were taken away i was meant to have made 10.87.
However when i go to my Ebay balance only 3.92 was available for me to withdraw and yes this is definitely the funds from the shoes as ebay said the money is available from them. Does anyone know the cause and what i can do?

I order almost everything on Ebay because I hate Amazon and Walmart. I usually check the prices to avoid drop shippers but this time I didnt.

Well I bought an item and it arrived in a Walmart bag with the sellers name on it. Pretty lazy drop shipping. I check the price and sure enough its $8 less on Walmart. So I message them and after some back and forth I finally get them to refund me the difference.

Now my question is do I leave them feedback? I hate dropshippers, I think its a lazy and scummy business model, so I'd like to leave negative feedback to warn other buyers. However, they did refund me, which they didn't have to do, but I'm not going to leave positive feedback. Do I leave neutral feedback? Or nothing at all?

I just sold two items going to Germany. The package is 30lbs and the price exceeded $1000 for both. Each item is about $500 but after fees and shipping it’s over $1000. So I guess that exceeds eBay’s policy’s eBay showed that I can ship it through them before selling them but after the customer purchased it and I tried buying a shipping label, it says “no services available”. What’s my best option here? I thought about shipping through UPS international shipping but wasn’t sure if that would affect something since it’s not going through eBay. Would the customer buying them separately help at all? The customer did want them shipped together for cheaper shipping.

Hey guys, newish Ebay seller here.

Just wondering about how to go about shipping a package from AUS to USA.

Someone from the USA has bought an item from me (Australian), and has only paid about 25 AUD for shipping. Ebay will not let me ship using their QR codes at auspost, it says no services available when trying to get an ebay label. last time i went to ship an item from Aus to USA it costed almost $70 AUD.

if i get to the counter after filling out all the forms and it ends up being over the price the buyer has paid, what do i do? Can i cancel the order without getting a strike on my account?

Also, i mainly sell 35mm film cameras if that is relevant.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

I’m fairly new to buying on Ebay, I typically stick with Depop. I recently bought a rare item at a good price, waited 2 weeks for the item to be shipped with no communication from seller, until i raised an issue through Ebay and was refunded by the seller with no explanation. The item wasn’t relisted as far as I know.

A few days ago, i got another good deal on another ‘rare’ item from a different seller, and have had no communication/ the item has not been shipped yet.

Is this common on Ebay? If so is there a reason for this?

ETA: How long do you usually wait after an item was purchased to message the seller about shipping?

Basically I started selling on Ebay. And I misinput my bank information. Ebay verified my bank information, however the bank account # does not belong to me, and my name was on it, but it still got verified. Called my bank, and the bank said no account has ever existed in my name with those numbers.

I called Ebay support and switched my bank account info to the correct information. Ebay told me that Ebay has held all these payouts as they never went through to the bank. And they tell me to call back a couple days later with an update.

I call back to speak with a different person, for them to tell me that all my payouts went through, and went to the old bank account. Basically the opposite of what the other person told me. And then when asked about what to do, they said they would give it to a supervisor.

Got a call back today basically telling me that I am SOL and that I need to contact my bank. My bank and I have talked 3 times now, and came to the same conclusion. No bank account with those numbers ever existed in my name, and the payouts should not have gone through.

When trying to talk to this Ebay lady, she refused me trying to get a hold of someone else and told me that there was nothing I can do.

Is there actually nothing I can do? Am I out of the failed payout that went to a bank account that doesnt exist? I wouldn't make it such a big deal if it wasn't such a large amount of money for a single payout. But this has been a 2 week ongoing battle now and I have gotten nowhere

Sold a beauty product, apparently customs in that country doesn't allow it.

Oct 8 they asked me for buyer's contact info for customs fees.

Oct 20 they said they are disposing of item.

Buyer hasn't messaged or asked me anything. Not the most expensive sale (under $100 including shipping).
Is there a deadline for a buyer to dispute it? (purchase date, delivery attempt date, disposing of item date?)
If she opens a dispute prior to deadline, would eBay side with me since it's buyer job to know what items are allowed to be imported into her country?

Been a while since I needed to ask for a return but today it happened. I was mistakenly sent the wrong item. Seller was apologetic and I initiated a INAD return as seller suggested. I was presented with an AI prompt. It had read my message with the seller and determined the issue at hand. It then walked me through the process to initiate the return. No waiting for the seller to accept, it sent me a label then and there. While the seller messaged me after our initial conversation that they would handle it when they got home it was done. I dropped off the package shortly after and a refund is already on its way just minutes after dropping it off.

The seller did not have a chance to do anything. In this case the item being returned was about $9 which would be basically the cost to ship it back so they double lost on this. Seems Ebay is removing the seller interaction from returns now?

Another annoying thing is that it sent me a label for FedEx, there are none near me and I had to drive out of my way to drop it off. The item was shipped to me USPS, why would it pick FedEx?

I purchased a Pokémon card a couple of months ago that was listed for way less than it was worth. It was a graded card (CGC 9) worth about $100 which was listed for $20. I didn’t initially know what the card was worth but I was looking for a graded card and found one I liked. The day after purchase, I get a refund notification stating that the card was no longer available. I then checked the seller’s page to see that the card had been re-listed at $150.

No word from the seller until I asked why my order had been cancelled. The seller said that it was a pricing error and seemed pretty short with me over the eBay messages.

I get that mistakes happen, but no communication beforehand and not owning up to their mistake left me with a bad taste in my mouth. They seem to be a medium to high volume seller so I decided to leave honest feedback about my transaction.

Immediately following my review, I get word from them saying that I ruined their 100% rating on EBay. After that, I blocked the seller.

The next day, one of the items I list on EBay gets purchased and I guess I may be a little paranoid because the address listed is in the same state as this seller (I can tell because they use a major city in their eBay handle) could this be the same seller wanting to give me negative feedback?

I do this as a side gig so I’m not super concerned with my rating, but I guess I can get eBay customer service involved if that happens right?

I haven’t used my eBay account for a couple of years, I went to log in and I couldn’t get in / password reset / OTP. Finally got a real person and they told me that I had to make a new account with a new email? Is this normal? Truthfully I’m pretty angry since I don’t have a second email and they can’t give me back access to the existing account. I find it hard to believe this is the actual policy, has anyone run into something like this before.

I got a notice of "UPS has some cost adjustments on your shipping labels." cost adjustment $2,420.58. We will be charging your account. I had used the ebay shipping calculator, and put in the correct dimensions and weight. I showed a price of $394. I double checked it to make sure everything was correct. It was, so I bought the label. Next week I get the "cost adjustment". I went back to the ebay shipping calculator and entered everything again. Same results, $394. (actual weight was 58 lb but used 60 lb to be safe.)

What the heck? I went to the UPS site and it showed UPS Ground $700.42. (retail price)

The UPS adjustment shows the length as 73", 2 inches longer than what it actually was 71". It was verified at UPS store when I dropped it off. They thought it was going to be too big. Ship weight 60 lbs. Filed a complaint with ebay customer service, he said they get a lot of UPS adjustment complaints usually not this big though.

We'll see how this one works out. Yes my checking acct got $2,420.58 deducted.

Item was a rear fender for a '57 T-Bird, 26 lb before crated. Actual boxed up dimensions 70.5 x 26.5 x 20. UPS says 73" after shipping. Then they can use dimensional rates instead of actual weight for 72" and under sizes.

So I have a question about what to do next in this situation. First thing to know is I am from croatia and I ordered some stuff for my NDS from a seller in France. Expedited tracked shipping advertised on the listing so I go for it. Get the tracking and that from la poste and a few days go by and I check ebay app and see delivered on oct 22nd. Now important thing is Croatian mail office takes care of deliveries in the final legs/steps of the packages journey, my other purchase from that same basket from a different seller I bought these items went trough DHL and are now with Croatian mail. But for this package with la poste, nothing to n the tracking suggests it was handed over to Croatian mail or some other courier. I opened a request with the seller and I have been ghosted so far, seller updated tracking to the same number I got the first time so literally no change there and I don’t know what to do now. I asked the seller to check with la poste but ghosted so far. I have not received the package, and I do not know where my package was in the last step before delivery because for some reason la poste does not show where the package is during the journey (like for example sorting center in Frankfurt, center in Vienna, etc.) I have checked around my flat nothing got delivered when I got the notification about delivery, my father was home and he heard nothing.

Send a package to a buyer. I double boxed it and bubble wrapped it. Unfortunately I had the package intercepted from the post office and mailed back to me. I had accidentally left something attached in the package that he did not pay for and that I did not want to give him.

I was going to remove the item and email the package back to the customer. The package arrived damaged and the item inside was broken beyond repair. Multiple parts were broken and one item that was physically screwed down was totally unscrewed somehow. Before leaving my hands the item was fully working and in near mint condition.I immediately apologize to the buyer and refunded his money.

I filed a claim through eBay and it said if I did not hear back from them by October 13th to give them a call. It is now October 27th I gave them plenty of time.

Do they normally give you a hard time about claims? I called them today and they said they are waiting for the customer to click that he never received the item. You can track the package and show that he never received the item. The customer wants nothing to do with me they are upset that the package is damaged and they are not getting their item.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I mainly sell low value sports cards, 95% go in ESUS envelopes. I also a buy a lot. NONE have scanned at all in the last 2+ weeks. I have a lot of buyers frustrated and think I’m ripping them off, and likely to lose repeat purchases from them.

I know they’re still getting delivered as I receive incoming mail, and see positive feedback left from some orders. It’s so disheartening. Makes me want to temporarily suspend my store until this is fixed.

I guess I’m just ranting. It sucks. I have a handful of INR claims against me currently for 8-10 day old orders. Ugh

I purchased a wheel spacer for my car but it didn’t fit on my car without ordering extra parts seperately. Even tho in the title it says “fits VZ Commodore” it won’t wont "fit" anyones VZ commodore.

The seller has a description on the item saying” check your wheel threads are long enough” when no body needs take their whole freaking wheel off to check the thread lol... because it simply doesn’t fit?? without ordering some other parts separately?? yet he wont refund me and my refund case request with eBay was denied which is just baffling to me and i have no idea what to do

This is literally like selling a playstation without a power cord. While also knowing everybody you're selling to doesn't have a power cord.. but you just don't mention it doesn't have a power cord so they buy it ..how is this allowed?

Basically I ordered a card worth around a pound and the item didn’t get delivered for 15 days and the delivery wasn’t tracked so I asked if there’s any chance if I can get an update and the seller refunded me.

I got the card today and I want to pay them and I messaged them if I can pay them, is there any way to do it through eBay?

I bought an item from a commercial seller on ebay. They contacted me and told me that due to a stock problem, they wouldn't fulfill my order. They actually do have more stock of the item I bought, but they'd had to restock at a higher price and didn't want to honour the lower price I bought at.

However, the seller is twisting and turning to try to avoid actually cancelling my order, presumably because ebay will penalise them for too many cancellations. Initially they asked me to request a cancellation, which I said I wouldn't do because the problem is theirs, not mine. There was a conversation where they told me a few lies about why they couldn't fulfill my order, before it eventually became clear it was just a price thing.

What they've done now is marked the order as dispatched (untracked), so ebay thinks they've completed the order, even though they haven't; and they've refunded my money with a reason of "postage discount".

Assuming the refund hits my account on schedule, this will have cost me nothing other than some time and frustration. But the dishonesty leaves a bit of a bad taste.

What would you do as a buyer in this situation?

• Forget about it and move on?
• Leave negative feedback?
• Raise an "item not delivered" case with ebay?

Worth noting I can't report it as an invalid cancellation, because they never cancelled the order.
