Ink flowing through a slime-mould network [WIP, WebGL]
I've been working on this for a while. Thousands of particles carry pigment along a network of veins. The veins thicken where the flow is strong and fade where it stops, based on a Physarum model (Tero et al. 2010). The colours mix like real paint (Kubelka-Munk), the pencil grid is drawn first, and the whole thing runs in real time in the browser, never looping.
What's new since my last post: calmer, more brush-like motion, finer veins, and paint that stays translucent and deepens as the strokes pile up instead of turning into flat blobs.
Happy to answer questions about how it works.
