Discussion Appreciation post for classic Hearthstone artwork. What was your favorite card art back in the day?

Just a small tribute post to appreciate and introduce newer players to the incredible art style older Hearthstone used to have! (Not trying to bash the current art direction, but it's undeniable that the style has shifted over the years)

Obviously, there are tons of other cards with stunning artwork, but these are just a few that fascinated me the most. What’s your all-time favorite card art from the past (even ones I didn't include)?

EDIT: My bad, when I said "classic" I just meant old artwork in general, not strictly the Classic set (sry)

Discussion This is the most fun I've had in Hearthstone in so long

I love this expansion so much. Im having so much fun playing this game again and its the first time i felt it worthwhile to play standard over wilds or battlegrounds in so long, the fact that everyone has a different old god in their deck instead of "deathwing or no deathwing" or "elise or no elise" is so much cooler. Feels like im part of a war or something and im picking my side

Nothing feels turbo unfair to lose against except for the +6/+6 kthix shenanigans but its not impossible to kill warlock before turn 8. A little sad that warrior and rogue are kind of mid but warrior was good for so long and I cant expect every class I like to always be good. Priest feels really good and I havent played much of it but demon hunter is apparently really good. I'll always be a little biased cause im a midrange gamer but this might be my favorite expansion in a very long time

Genuinely what am I looking at? Can we ban Warlock as a class until this is fixed? Not exaggerating by the way.

Discussion Demonic Project is crashing the game.

Post image

With all the N'zoth rogues I started running Demonic Project to counter them, but it crashes the game and the worst part is that I play on mobile and it takes me years to reconnect, thankfully most of them just surrender after their combo is gone, but it still is a problem.

Standard Not only do I find that he's op and overtuned. But it's also the only old god that got tons of insanely strong support structured around triggering its abilities multiple times in a single match

Post image

I really feel like that they should've limited to waiting a like two turns before re-using the same ability again the next turn. It's really fucking oppressive having 7 damage dealt multiple times or even twice in the same turn for unfair lethals. Or cap the abilities once per game, and the full C'Thun itself can utilize its own doubled/tripled abilities the turn it comes down.

Sure the other gods have tons of synergies around them, mostly N'Zoth after C'Thun. Y'shaarj is only conditional spending 30 mana just to gain immunity for one turn. Yogg, no real condition, you just slam it down and pray that he wins you the game but it can definitely screw you over and lose in some cases/scenarios.

Standard Was it the most practical choice? Perhaps not. But I just think it's fun

Was able to actually get all 5 Dreamcards 3 times and win this game, pretty nice to have a fun play with a Warrior deck again.

Discussion So is anyone really enjoying this expansion?

It's basically spamming minions and giving minions stats. That's the best develops could do. Spam minions.
That was his amazing work.
Anyone is really enjoying this ?

Been tweaking this summoner mage deck since expansion launched. I am having tons of fun with it.

... and I am winning but what scares me is I am winning too easily which means something will get hit in this deck soon XD

Gameplan is build huge boards with Code Violet or Chadgar with 6/6 dragons vs half the current meta and you will win.

If the game slows down a bit

*Deck Code in comments too.

Standard Well I finally did it.

I’ve played this game since launch off and on, and I’ve never gotten higher than probably mid plat. But finally I grinded and put my head down and got myself to legend! None of my friends play so I had to come tell someone 😂 Used new Zoolock to progress all the way from gold to legend.

Posting the deck if anybody is interested. Made a couple tweaks from the decks I’ve seen online and it’s pretty solid! The only thing I would maybe swap out just depending on how the ladder is looking would be Steamcleaner. I thought it would be good to mill out the decks from priests and also clear out my deck of Shreds of Time later in game if I hadn’t already won yet. I think I really only used it twice. And I ended up losing the game to priest anyways. I would probably cut it just to add another Cult Neophyte. Hope you guys enjoy let me know of any tips or ways to improve that you guys might have!

Deck Not saying I absolutely cooked, but Mastermind Yogg works REALLY well with Setesh and the Blood Fighter cards

Post image
28 Upvotes

Title. Decided to throw Yogg into a weird legendary mix-up deck and it ended up winning me game after game. Dropping Setesh on turn 7 almost guarentees a 10-30 stats Golem on turn 9 (considering you can even drop a second one on turn 8) which Yogg can then use to swing for lethal by basically giving it Charge.

The Blood Fighters are also a really nice way to ''guarentee'' a lot of stats on board for Yogg to use, and with Chainbreaker Hogger your chances of Drawing a Blood Fighter increase drastically.

Not sure about the Quest though, it won me a game once or twice but I'm considering dropping it for maybe another Land Ho!.

Any suggestions/changes are appreciated!

EDIT: Took out the Quest and the 2 Portal Vanguards for a second Land Ho! and 2 copies of Forge of Origination. Here's the latest list:

Discussion Noob question: what is the logic behind "dagger pass"?

hey guys, noob question (I'm horrible at card games).

I was watching some classic Hearthstone, and I started wondering about “dagger passing” (equipping a weapon and not using it right away).

For example: on turn 2 as Rogue, with no minions on board, you hero power and pass... Why wouldn’t you just go face?

I can see other situations where passing is beneficial (sometimes hitting a minion right away isn't good etc), but when is that early and there's nothing else to do, why wouldnt you just hit face?

Edit: thx, it makes a lot more sense to me now. Great answers all around
