OK. I thought this meant "the shoes are with me." But I'm told it means "the shoes are at my place." Is it both? Isn't there a better way to say the latter?

What does the phrase "נפרדתי מהפרייבט" in the כוורת song "יו יה" mean? The best I can figure out, it means "I had to say goodbye to my car," but in context that seems… inconsequential. I mean, he's about to die, and is worried about his car? So I suspect there's another meaning I'm not seeing.
