Question Did you guys need another year of blocked account to get a residence permit?

I am currently on student visa for a year and applied for the residence permit. I was told to wait until a few weeks before my visa expiration date. In your experience, were you asked to provide another year of blocked account?

Meetup Request 23M looking for advice on meeting people and dating in heidelberg/leimen

Hi everyone, i am a 23M living in heidelberg. i am looking to meet new people and hopefully go on a few dates. I often see nice women at my uni or in my dorm, but I find it surprisingly difficult to approach someone and start a conversation, let alone ask them out. It's been about three years since my last relationship and honestly I feel a little out of practice when it comes to dating.

I am not looking for anything serious right now. I'd rather meet someone, see if we click and just go with the flow. The problem is that I am having a hard time meeting new people in the first place. I have tried dating apps but they haven't really worked out for me so far. I wanted to ask how do you guys meet new people and date in heidelberg? Are there any good places, events, or activities where it's easy to socialize and get to know someone naturally? And for those of you who have been in a similar situation? how did you get more comfortable approaching someone you're interested in?

Question Starthilfe am Auto (Überbrückungshilfe)

Hallo!

Lieben Dank!!

Work volunteering

Hey everyone!

Towards the end of October, I have 5 days free and I'm looking to dedicate my time to **volunteering with a local organization or charity**. I am honestly happy to help with literally anything you need!

Here is what I can bring along:

* **Transportation & Logistics:** I have my own car and am fully happy to use it as part of my volunteering (whether for deliveries, outreach, errands, or moving gear).
* **Language:** English-speaking.

If anyone can put me in touch with a charity, community group, or organization looking for an extra pair of hands (and some wheels) during that time, please drop me a message or point me in the right direction. I'd love to help out!

Please note I will not take any form of compensation for my volunteering.

Hallo! Fellow students or Germans (I’m not a German)

I’ve been crazily finding an apartment but I can’t find any , especially on immoscout24 or WG , none of them are getting back to me.

Does anyone know any single/shared apartments in Heidelberg? Whether its in Bahnstadt , Weststadt , Kirchheim , or somewhere close by to Bahnstadt?

It would be amazing if you guys were to help me , I’m sick of living in a hotel.

Sports Archery in Heidelberg?

I'm moving to Heidelberg for a few months for an internship and wanted to pick up archery again. I generally shoot barebow (and I have for 3 years), but I wasn't able to bring my gear from back home and I haven't shot in about a year. I was wondering if there was both an archery shop nearby & a group I could join on rather short notice for a while. Thanks in advance for recs 😊

Housing Urgent: Looking for Temporary Accommodation in Heidelberg or Nearby Cities from October 16

Hi everyone,

I’m an international student from India, and I’ll be arriving in Germany on October 16 to pursue my Master’s in Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at SRH University in Heidelberg.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find accommodation yet, and I’m getting a little worried as my arrival date is approaching. I’m hoping to find at least a temporary place to stay while I continue searching for a permanent room.

I’m open to accommodation in Heidelberg or any nearby city with a reasonable public transport connection to Heidelberg. Even a temporary stay for a few days or a couple of weeks would be a huge help.

A little about me: I’m a non-smoker, friendly, and easygoing. I enjoy gaming, and listening to podcasts. I’m respectful of other people’s privacy and always try to keep my living space clean and organised.

If anyone knows of available rooms, short-term rentals, student accommodation, sublets, or any local groups where I could find a place, I’d really appreciate your help. If you have a spare room or know someone who does, please feel free to DM me.

Any advice or leads would mean a lot to me right now.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Tourist Advice Unkonventionelle Restaurant-Tipps für Amerikaner in Heidelberg

Hallo zusammen,

Work How can I work at a Christmas market?

Hey everyone! I am new to Heidelberg and here on a fellowship with the Bundestag to learn German and experience German culture.

I’m looking for mini job and/or volunteering opportunities where I can practice my German (currently around A1/A2 level) and hopefully earn a little extra money while I’m here. I absolutely love Christmas markets, so I think it would be such a cool experience to work or volunteer at one this winter!

I’ve done some searching online and applied through a general Christmas market website, but I figured I’d ask here in case anyone has recommendations or knows someone I could reach out to. Are there any companies, vendors, or individual booth owners who might be looking for extra help during the Christmas market season? Ideally, I’d love to find something where basic German is okay, since I’m still learning, but I’m fluent in English and happy to help wherever I can!

I’d really appreciate any leads, contacts, or advice. Danke! 🎄✨
