IPhone XR to 17e worth it?
In August 2018 I got an iPhone 6 32gb 95% health for CA$250 used it until September 2022 it had 83% left 28/32gb used and I went for an iPhone XR 128gb 88% health for CA$310 with case and screen protector included. It’s almost November 2026 still using XR it’s at 78% health, thinking of buying a new phone.
I decided go for my old pattern get a used 4 year old iPhone. So I looked at a 14. For the same storage, worse condition, worse battery health it’s $500-$600 which is ridiculous. I was thinking of 17e it’s more desirable than a 14 it’s base it 256gb 48mp camera usb type c, newer phone, 8gb ram. They were CA$900 at launch now they’re CA$1000 but like $850 ish open box. I was thinking of waiting Black Friday for a better deal like $600-$750 for an open box/new 17e. Is this a good plan?
Like I’ve noticed it’s very different from a XR (more than twice the storage, usb-c (it will use same charger as my tablet, keyboard, mouse, headphones, etc.), 5G, twice the storage, MagSafe, better screen, better battery (26 hours apparently), better front camera, better rear camera. However it looks visually the same, and I kind of wanted the same upgrade experience I got from the 6 to xr idk how different it will be. Has anyone who went from XR to 17e found it significantly different. The thing is tho the Dynamic Island phones with a proper storage upgrade and battery health are just as much as 17e used
The xr isn’t too bad Rn. Battery life is worse it does like 6 hours in a day which isn’t great icl, but it’s not that slow 95gb/128gb used 78% health. I was in a lecture hall and tried taking picture of whiteboard from front row my friend in the back row with a 14 got a way clearer picture. So yeah, thoughts? Should I meet thugging the xr out?
