This is my 2nd try and tbh this is 80% like street momos the good ones.

I've been eating momos for the past 10 years almost once every week and I try to buy from different shops to understand the art of momos. I have only one addiction and that is momo.

Everything is made by me from scratch.

Momos - very thin coating to get the juiciness and full flavour of the chicken.

Soup - Simple veg soup with beans and cabbage and lots of black pepper

Chutney - Homemade firey sauce. The spiciness will F your brains out.

I think this is my best achievement this year apart from getting a job and quitting it after 2 months 🫪.

I am not born and brought up in kolkata. And I am living here since 2022 due to work and initial years I couldn't explore or travel much, but very recently all the old buildings, historical buildings and everything as the asthetic view of kolkata hit me. I try to see things visit places more.

I was entering kolkata (by sbstc bus) and this is what I could capture with whatever phone I have. At the end of the bridge when it actually enters kolkata, i saw the skyline and it was great, i couldn't capture it and there were guardrails, but it hold all the things side by side.

Howrah Bridge, Victoria, Big small buildings, The 42, and many more I don't know the names, but it was very wonderful to see.

So an 18 yr old gets caught kissing a 13 yr old ....that's a crime in itself. Clear case of grooming and POCSO.

But no one is mentioning their age in the news.

But the outage is more about that guy and his father being paraded naked. I think

In my opinion that's deserved.

And bengal needs to get serious about these lowly scums going after minor girls.

Underage marriage was already a problem.

I had a displeasure of watching the Emperor vs Sarat Chandra a few days back and goddamn its soo bad.

So the film has very nationalist undertones and tries to loosely adapt Pather Daabi by Sarat Chandra. Pather daabi follows Sabyasachi and his espionage in Burma and is meant to be a stand in for reali life revolutionary Rashbehari Bose. Srijit Mukherjee's take appears to be a way of blurring the lines between realife events that inspired Sarat Chandra to write pather dabi and the actions of sabysachi aka Rashbehari Bose in Burma, in the hopes of painting the picture of the freedom struggle in the eastern part of the british Raj. A niche that is often not discussed in media.

Does he succeed? No absolutely no.

Key pitfalls-

Very poorly written narrative. This film cannot construct a coherent narrative trying to jump from Sarat Chandra and Sabyasachi. The narrative comes of as extremeley broken and without any tension.

Any pace or tension is spoiled by intercutting with sarat's biography.

Childish dialogue. I have seen better stuff amongst film school students.

Bad reading of history. Srijit frames Rabindranath almost as a Raj apologist. This Far from the reality. This stems from srijits bad understanding of 'gora' and unverified letters allegedly written by Rabindranath to Sarat.

Extreme cringe use of ai. 20 percent of this movie used ai. Not only for scenes and actors but also for dialogue. They could have voicedubbed the ai actors but they chose to go with the shitty monotonous ai slop dialogue.

Extreme narcissism. He in the ending scene put himself beside Deshbandhu Chittaranjan using ai. The deshbandhu Chittaranjan was also recreated using ai but the ai probably misunderstood the prompt and made deshbandhu look like Subhas Chandra Bose.

Extremeley bad use of ai. The ai used itself was very cheap. Most likeley Google nanobana in adobe firefly. The prompts could have been better as they look like those cheap IG reels.

TLDr

Emperor vs Sarat Chandra is a embarrassment to not only the bengali film industry but bengalis themselves.
