Hello, i am a lebanese living abroad particularly fond of military history and archive footage. As a result, i tried many times to investigate the complex history of our armed forces through the evolution of its units, uniforms, equipments etc...

Its not an easy task at all because almost all the documents whether it be writings or photographs about the army pre-1975 are scatterred across the web and often not directly shared by the official lebanese institutions.

However i recently made a mindblowing discovery when i came up across an article extract from the lebanese army periodical stating that the now diceased cineast Georges Nasser produced for the Orientation Office many movies aiming to display the army role and capacities throughout the 60s and early 70s. I wrote an email to the Orientation Office a week ago asking if those movies were still preserved and if they habe been digitized (which i'm already sure of because some bits of them have been occasionnaly shown in social media posts) and if most importantly i could eventually access a copy strictly for personal use. But to be honest i don't really have high hopes and I doubt i will even get an answer.

I'm still on a quest to acquire a copy of those movies. I want to know if I'm delusional or not. Have anyone on this sub ever heard about them or even watched them ? Which institutions except the army would be the most suited for a deeper investigation in Lebanon ? The subject is so niche I at least want to know if I'm not the only one to care about that.

I was given a pretty generous GA offer, didnt even need to do an interview. Thing is im 2 years graduated and i work remotely from 3pm to 12 (though timing and amounr of hours worked can be flexible). While I could probably afford it, I worry studying + GA + full time job would consume too much of my life atp lol

I work in branding for a decade now and this branding looks like some gen Z chase and like any random pop up tiktok ads tiny diner. It is soooo weak. The rebrand before the urban one was also mega ass. They should’ve built on their initial diner look! That was their winner one. It had personality and it was unique compared to everything around you and it was ALIVE 😅 what are we trying to chase??? Flat illustrations and stickers?? You could’ve invested that money and uplifted your Diner look you had.

So ASS 4/10 … 3/10 now that i just saw what they used to be.

Personally, I've met a few people from this community over the years and I'm genuinely glad that some of them have become friends I can appreciate outside of Reddit. I've also lost touch with a few along the way but I guess that's just part of life.

i genuinely cant find any place where they sell hot fresh donuts. there was a singular shop i used to get from about 7-8 years ago and he had amazing hot donuts and since then i didnt find any place like it.

its not like im on a treasure hunt and go out everyday to find them but in the last 2 months i visited a couple bakeries and non of them had fresh donuts.

also, i refuse to go to dunkin donuts, i never tried anything there and never will.

Hello, I have been playing tennis for the past 6 years and I never got any real coaching, I always learnt from youtube.

However, I want to level up my game and I am looking to see if there are any good tennis clubs around beirut / keserwan district that would allow me to play like 5-6 hours a day with a coach for like 3-4 months during the summer. And if so, how much I should expect to pay?
