Discussion Has anyone applied for a Macao visa from South Korea?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone living in South Korea as a foreign national applied for a Macao visa?

I contacted the Chinese Visa Application Service Center, but they told me they don't accept my application. I'm having trouble figuring out where to apply.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this process. Thanks!

Discussion City of Dreams | Shady people?

So, I have been going around many casinos/properties in Macau, having had a overwhelmingly positive experience.

Recently, I spent a night at COD (City of Dreams) walking, eating and gaming. I found the main floor of the COD casino to be absolutely filled with shady people. Girls in the bathrooms offering chips for illegal transfer, very aggressive gamblers (had a guy literally tell me to go to "another empty table") unfriendly dealers, etc. To top it off, the surroundings of the hotels and Casino were PACKED with hookers. I mean, nothing against it, but seemed like a VERY different vibe from the more friendly environment of other properties, including also Melco-owned Studio City.

Am I tripping? Has anyone had the same impression?

Viva Macau!

Questions Sands Rewards | Comped rooms

Hey guys, so, I have been gambling with Sands group to the point where I have built a 14 point "Privilege" level, meaning I can book all rooms that fall within this category for up to 4 nights.

As I'm very new to Sands, I wanted to know if anyone can share some insights. Any comments would be appreciated, really.

However, if I may suggest some questions lol. What's the average point rate expected? Should I game every single day I'm staying in property? Is booking a higher "Privilege" room more costly points-wise? How many Privilege points you guys have and what level of play got you there? Any tips or tricks?

Many thanks!

Questions 1.) Restaurants and specialty coffee in Taipa Village and 2.) Egg tarts at the airport

Hi!

We're meeting friends in Macau this coming weekend. We get there first, so we have some time to kill for lunch before they arrive. We were thinking of going to Taipa Village (I think it's called) for Portuguese food. I know about O Santos, O Castiço, and A Petisqueira. Are there any other Portuguese restaurants we should consider in that immediate vicinity? (I'd like to keep it close to there because of Manteigaria egg tarts.) People on Google Maps rate those restaurants fairly similarly. Is there a noticeable difference between them? Is one better/worse? Any special dishes worth trying? And do we need reservations?

Also, I'm aware of Connect, Lamgo, Maison and Woop Woop, but are there any other good specialty coffee shops near there? I suspect we won't be able to find a seat anywhere on a Saturday, but somewhere with a decent medium or medium-light espresso blend for me and a flavored latte for my wife would be great. Any suggestions?

Finally, are there any fresh egg tarts available around 8-9 AM at the airport which we could take back with us on the airplane when we leave? Which ones are the best?

Thanks!

Discussion Who Waited In Line for IPhone Duo?

I am curious I saw that people waited for days outside to get the iPhone on release day. Was it normal residents waiting, travelers, or mainlanders? How much did they even make?

Discussion Question for people who play blackjack in Macau: do these table rules match what you see? (I'm an app dev, 中文在下面)

Hi, I'm the developer of Veintiuno, an iOS app (iPhone and Mac) for practicing blackjack basic strategy. No real money, it's in the Education category, just for learning at home.

The latest update added a Macau / Asia table with its own strategy chart. I built it from published rules, but I've never played there myself, so I'd rather ask people who actually have:

  • How many decks do the tables you play at use?
  • Does the dealer take a second card right away, or only after the players finish?
  • If the dealer gets blackjack, do you lose your double and split money too?
  • Is surrender allowed anywhere?

If something is wrong in the app, I'll fix it. Link if you want to look: https://apps.apple.com/app/blackjack-trainer-veintiuno/id6813226836

App 支援繁體中文。如果有地方不對,我會修正。謝謝!

Questions Boarding HK flight via skypier from macau

I’ll be arriving in Macau directly via flight since its visa free for me. I was originally planning to visit Hong Kong but won’t be able to make it due to visa issues.

So I’ve a Vietjet flight (+ valid Vietnam e-visa) from Hong Kong and planning to use airport transit coach.

I’ve a few doubts and looking for similar experience

- Has anyone checked in to vietjet at skypier (since they don’t support upstream checkin)
- Will not having a valid Hong Kong visa be a problem?

Tourism Turkmenistan passport travel to Macao while holding residency permit for Mainland China

Hi there. I have a classmate from Turkmenistan who obtained a residency permit from Mainland China while going to university there. Normally, Macao requires passports from Turkmenistan to get visas. Is there any way he can get some sort of exemption due to the residency permit?

Thanks!

Questions Anyone in Macau into doing concept art for video games and film?

I am Chinese and grew up in the UK but moved back to Macau for a few years because of my wife and kid decide to stay in Macau. I work remotely for UK companies designing film sets, and video games.

My local friends hardly know and take an interest in what I do and I would love to meet like minded people in Macau in similar profession. I know there is practically no real art and design industry here, but would love to know find any hidden circles out there by any chance!

Questions A Jewelry Dealer Visiting Macau for 3 Days 💎 Any Local Food & Hidden Gem Recommendations?

Hi everyone! 👋
I’m a jewelry dealer, and I’ll be visiting Macau tomorrow for a 3-day jewelry exhibition! 💎✨
Since I’ll be staying for three days, I’d love to explore Macau a little outside of work. I’ve heard so many great things about the local food, beautiful streets, and unique mix of Chinese and Portuguese culture.
I’d love to get some recommendations from locals and people who know Macau well!
🍜 Food I’m looking forward to trying:
The best Portuguese egg tarts 🥧
Local favorites like pork chop buns and wonton noodles
Authentic Portuguese or Macanese food
Any hidden local restaurants that tourists might miss!
📍 Places I’d love to explore:
Beautiful streets and charming old neighborhoods
Local spots with great views or photo opportunities
Interesting places to visit after the exhibition
Any hidden gems worth checking out in the evening
I’ll probably be busy during the day, so I’m especially interested in places I can visit after work!
If you were showing a friend around Macau for the first time, where would you take them for good food or a memorable experience?
I’d really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks so much! ❤️
Looking forward to discovering Macau and hopefully meeting some lovely people along the way! 💎🇲🇴

Questions Hard to find THE Spot in Macau. Where?

Where is your go-to spot in Macau where you can legitimately connect with people?

I might be asking too much since today is Monday, but what’s a bar/pub/club you’d go to meet new people? I’m finding Macau nightlife and even social life a too limited, especially compared to Hong Kong.

It’s usually very easy for me to meet new people but… dang, Macau has been tough in this regard. I love the city and would love to connect with more locals, but so far it’s been quite challenging.

Also, I’ve been avoiding going too close to the casino area since that’s not really my vibe. I’ve been to Old Taipa Tavern before but not sure how it’s gonna be there tonight.

Discussion Macau visa run / exit and re-entry

Hi there! I am planning to visit my partner who is based in Macau (we are long distance) and I would like to spend as much time with him as possible. We are not married. I am allowed 30 days visa on arrival.

Has anybody recently exited and re-entered Macau on a tourist visa, and how many times can I do this before immigration potentially has an issue with this?

My ideal plan would be to exit and re-enter Macau twice so that I can spend about 80-90 days with him total before returning home. I have sufficient funds to cover my trip and can prove this to immigration if needed.

Would really appreciate hearing anyone’s experiences and how this went for them. Thanks in advance.
