Technology/प्रविधि Anyone tried Loomisly as alternative to Buffer?

I’ve been looking into social media schedulers that work better for businesses in Nepal, especially when it comes to payments. Came across Loomisly and wanted to see if anyone here has used it for their actual business pages.

It supports scheduling for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and LinkedIn, along with a shared comments inbox, analytics and ad management with NPR budgets. It also supports eSewa and Khalti payments, which is what caught my attention.

I’m connected with the people building Loomisly, so I’d especially appreciate honest feedback rather than a sales pitch. How reliable has it been in practice? Any issues with scheduling, billing, customer support or connecting social accounts?

Would you trust it with a business page you depend on, or would you still stick with something more established?

Genuinely interested in hearing both the good and the bad.

Is it just me who didn't like the new update on hamro patro? It's weird like not even red on holidays like dashain and all. I tried to find for tihar date and the read box is gone, symboled only by dot red and international days and nepali tithis.

Which IELTS institute in Kathmandu would you recommend for Band 8

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for the best IELTS preparation institute in Kathmandu. My target is Band 8, so I’m looking for a place with excellent teachers, regular full-length mock tests, and detailed feedback on Writing and Speaking.
If you’ve attended classes recently, please share:
Which institute would you recommend?
How often do they conduct mock tests?
Do they provide individual feedback and band-score assessments?
What are the fees like?
I’d really appreciate honest reviews based on personal experience, especially from people who scored 7.5 or 8+.
Thank you!

Society/समाज How do you feel about not being able to invest?

I am an Australian and had the privilege to visit Nepal just 2 weeks ago.

I had a chat to locals who informed me that it’s illegal for Nepalese people to invest in the international stock market (any country or business outside of Nepal). And that they can ONLY invest in the Nepalese stock market.

I was shocked. I think this rule is so unfair and the government is keeping Nepalese people poor. The stock market is how I’ve personally made a sizeable amount of money and for many people it can be their gateway out of poverty. Why can’t a person have a choice? In Australia we can invest either locally or internationally.

Does anyone else feel this rule is unfair? Is the new government conscious of it?

Keen to hear your thoughts.

Nepal le khas khanepani privatize garnu parni ho

A country that has abundant water resources should not have cities where people struggle to get water. Yo sarkaar ko distribution problem ho, specifically Kathmandu upatyeka khanepani limited. If the state clearly is not able to provide something basic like water then it should be given over to private actors.

Help/सहयोग Need Advice: Affordable Business or Job Opportunities in Kathmandu for My Parents

Guys, my parents are planning to move to Kathmandu, but we have a limited budget and aren’t sure where to start.
My mom has a CMA qualification and 10+ years of pharmacy experience, and I’ve also completed a Diploma in Pharmacy. My dad is considering Pathao or a security job.
We can’t afford to open a pharmacy right now. Any suggestions for jobs, small businesses, or genuine investors/sponsors?
What would be the best way for our family to start fresh in Kathmandu? Any advice would mean a lot! ❤️

Technology/प्रविधि Khalti Virtual Card supports Shopify (NPR) sites but it takes 45 days for processing a refund

Post image
4 Upvotes

I generally use my USD card for payment on Shopify sites. refund usually takes 7-14 days (hasn't taken more than 7-8 so far). but ofc we all have been bitten by the notorious 500$ spending limit which absolutely sucks.

when I got a notification that i had paid for a khalti virtual card that needed to be renewed (everyone did apparently but i actually had chosen to get one iirc). I remembered all the times these shopping sites would show the payment amount in NPR so I tried it on the site that i recently ordered from using USD, not expecting it to go through. I tried paying for a 13k item and it actually worked.

Asked the merchant for a refund and they did it within 2-5 hours. waited 8-10 days but the refund never arrived in my wallet. then i contacted khalti, they give me bunch of stall the first day since it was past bushiness hours, the next day they said that it would take 45 days for the refund to arrive? like excuse me wtf kinda scummy thing is that, am i getting a interest on that money? what if it was wayy higher amount? it clearly seems fishy to me since I've never heard any financial institution take more that 14-15 days to process a simple refund. idk if this is an issue exclusive to khalti, since they probably go through more chains for incoming and outgoing transaction since they're not really an actual bank themselves.

can I do anything about it? is this allowed? do i have any consumer rights regarding stuff like this? let me know.

Question/प्रश्न Can Applying for the DV Lottery Affect Future Student Visa Applications?

Can Applying for the DV Lottery Affect Future Student Visa Applications?

As we all know, the DV Lottery is reopening, and I’m planning to apply this year. However, I have a concern because a passport is now required to apply.

If I apply for the DV Lottery but don’t get selected, could this affect my chances of getting an F-1 student visa in the USA in the future? Could it also affect student visa applications for other countries, such as Australia, New Zealand, the UK, or Canada?

I’m particularly concerned about whether simply entering the DV Lottery could be considered evidence of immigrant intent and cause problems under US immigration law when applying for a student visa later.

Does anyone know how this actually works or have experience with this situation? I’d really appreciate any clarification. Thanks!

Question/प्रश्न Does anyone know how to sell your products in etsy and amazon from Nepal?

Has anyone from Nepal successfully sold products on Etsy or Amazon?

I’m based in Nepal and exploring ways to sell Nepali products to international customers. I’d like to understand how sellers manage account registration, payments, shipping, customs and other requirements from Nepal.

If you’ve done this yourself, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience, what worked and what challenges you faced.
