Anyone know what's happening on Sussex?
I've just seen half the OPS drive past on the other side of the road
Currently just coming up to the New British High Commission.
Been sitting in traffic for 30 mins

lol, looks like Neil's canvassers are cutting it pretty close. Found this on my door this afternoon.
I guess they didn't care about mail-in or early voters. 🤷♂️

Looking for advice on taking a puppy for Santa photos for the first time. I was about to book at the Hazeldean mall on one of their pet friendly days - it's close to home and I've heard good things about both the Santa and the photographer there.
My hesitation is that it's a 5 minute booking and I'm not sure this will be enough time for the puppy to settle and take a good photo. He will be 10 months in a couple weeks and very excitable/not good at listening when he's excited and has a bunch of new stimuli. Hesitating to pay $60 to maybe get a blurred picture of him jumping on Santa.
For people who have done this with a young dog, how did it go? Would you say the photographer at Hazeldean has a knack for getting dogs to photograph well or no particular specialty and it's up to me to get my dog to sit still?
Any other suggestions for a place that might be better suited for us this year?

I’ve recently gotten into reformer Pilates (still very much a beginner, about 12 classes in), and I’m really enjoying it, but I am BEGGING for a class with a better playlist. 😭
I’m so tired of the soft, calming, yoga-style house music. Reformer is HARD…why am I listening to elevator music 😭
I am looking for fun, upbeat atmosphere where the music actually gets you going. Specifically hip hop/r&b or even top 40.
Any recommendations?
Looking for recommendations for a tennis program for a 10 year old with beginner knowledge.
Ideally within Ottawa excluding suburbs.
TIA

Where to buy braided sweetgrass in Ottawa?

is there such a thing as a well lit trail? I don't want to see or hear cars but I also need to see my surroundings. And it would be great if I didn't have to drive to the other end of the city for it (I live in Barrhaven).

So, it's voting day. The church on the corner of Fisher and Inverness is a voting station. The church on the corner of Viewmount and Fisher is a food bank. I had to visit both today. 2 separate city of Ottawa crews working on both sides of Fisher have signs up on both sides of the road, pedestrians use other sidewalk. Got yelled at by one crew for not using the other sidewalk. So I snapped right back maybe they shouldn't have signs on both sides. Basically they wrote "see other side" on both sides of a piece of paper. His response. Oh that's a different crew, we have no idea what they are doing but I'll get it taken care of. To his credit, he drove to the other crew and told them to take down their signs that were apparently unneeded.
Typical of Ottawa, absolutely zero communication between teams. Come on Ottawa, it's not that hard to use common sense and communicate with each other.

Hello!! I was born and raised here but moved away in the middle of the millennium.
Now that I’m freshly back in town and about to vote today, I’m leaning towards Jeff Leiper as he represents my area and I’ve read up on his platform which I think the city needs.
Sutcliffe I think has made the city worse.
Friendly and pointed debate please.
To add for context I am a woman with disabilities that has experienced homelessness in Ottawa the past year and has had horrible experiences using the public transit. Both need to have major changes asap.
Thanks!!

I need someone who can bill her insurance, provide at home massage for seniors who are mobile challenged (unable to lie down). Hoping to squeeze 3-4 sessions between now and the new year. And then another 3-4 sessions in January - February. Time is of the essence so I'm hoping to get something booked right away. DMs are open for this.

Good morning folks,
I trust you have been enjoying all the traffic brought to you by Mark Sutcliffe and RTO mandated nonsense. Well today is the last chance you get to choose your own destiny.
Jeff Leiper has promised to revoke the City of Ottawa RTO mandate, which will remove thousands of vehicles from the commute. Additionally, he has said he would apply pressure to the Federal Gov't to revoke the equally poorly research supported RTO mandate.
For clarity, the Mayor of the City of Ottawa cannot dictate federal policy - BUT - there has been a steady pressure game played by Sutcliffe to mandate workers back downtown to "save businesses" that simply did not pivot during the YEARS of Covid.
So please - GO OUT AND VOTE! 44% participation in 2022 is what lead to this Sutcliffe induced chaos. It only takes a few minutes, and the election workers are amazing! A few minutes can set the course for the City for the next 4 years.
To guide you in your choice at the Poll, please see the below chart on how City of Ottawa councillors voted in the 2025 City of Ottawa RTO Mandate.
Jeff Leiper put forward a motion attempting to remove the Delegate Authority for the City Manager to mandate a return to work 5 days a week. At the last minute before the votes were called, Councillor Curry, supported by Mayor Sutcliffe, put forward a replacement motion emphasizing support for the City Manager to make the RTO5 decision.
After watching Council discussions, the last minute substitution motion, and the final vote, it was clear some councillors were duped by the promise of "flexibility". According to people who are working for the City, the promised 'flexibility' is a myth. Where there is space for RTO5, employees are needlessly in the office 5 days a week.
More cars on the road. More needless congestion for people whose jobs cannot be done remotely. As candidates are trying to secure another 4 year position in City Hall, now is the time to get involved. Public pressure works. Motivated constituents can affect public policy.
Either way, please vote - it is quick and easy. You don't need your voter card, just your ID.

I get about 7 right now, but I would say if the weather is poor a few aren't the most watchable quality though (some interruptions to visual/audio with static)
My channels right now are
My biggest limitation is being in an apartment building with thick concrete walls and only south-west facing windows to pick up a signal through. I'm in the South-East of the city.
I believe I'm picking up the broadcast antenna to the northwest at Camp Fortune clearer than the one to the South in Manotick
I also will admit my reception antenna isn't phenomenal by any means so I'll take what TV I can get for free over the air. It's a cheaper model that is indoors by a window since I don't have a balcony, up about 4 storeys.
I'm curious what other folks are able to pick up and if they have any tips to improve channel reception. I know I theory with a good set up it's even possible to grab some of more far out broadcasts including American channels but I'm not getting my hopes up about that any time soon.
Using this website as my reference : https://otacanada.weebly.com/ottawa-info.html
ETA: got my directions mixed up in the original post and corrected them, I'm picking up Camp Fortune antenna well not Manotick

Does anybody know how long the waitlist is for an additional parking space at Briston Private condominiums? I noticed there are quite a few listings, all of then only have one parking space. How likely would a potential buyer find a second spot? And would parking on the side streets be extremely risky? Unfortunately we can't request an on-street parking permit as it is not within the zone. Anyone with information would be greatly appreciated!

Hey folks!
I’m looking to get back in shape and I love to dance. Looking for a private teacher that could potentially help teach me KPop choreo/moves/has a hip hop background?
I’m an adult woman for reference.
Thanks in advance!

Just drove by Sussex and noticed a protest that seemed to have an equal number of protesters to police.
Anyone know what it's for? I didn't have time to read any signs.
Also steer clear of driving westbound on Sussex. It's a mess.

Hi, looking for recommendations for rust proofing. Have you done it for your car, what type, cost, and do you think it was worth it? What are some commendable businesses in Ottawa for it?
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if CTV/CBC or any news site has election results video or is it just the online poll trackers with no analysis?
Thanks!

Any local feed online that I can use to follow results tonight? I don't have cable, so hoping to find something on YouTube.
