I have these two old Intel i3-10100 CPUs lying around, and I thought it would be fun to do something creative with them and print the print on them.

The problem is I have no idea what kind of design would look best on them šŸ˜‚

Would you make one big design that continues across both CPUs, or draw something different on each one?

I'm open to literally any ideas, whether it's tech-related, anime, minimalist art, or something completely random, you can take reference from the second image.

If these were yours, what would you make? I'd love to hear some creative suggestions!

Liquid cooled Title: My Corsair 1000D Project — Dual-System, All-Metal EKWB Water Cooling, and Completely Overkill

Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on a pretty ambitious Corsair Obsidian 1000D build, and I figured I’d share the project and some of the plans I have for it.
My goal is to build something different from the typical RGB-heavy, hardline tubing setups. I’m going for a more industrial, mechanical aesthetic with black and gunmetal components, exposed metal fittings, and a massive custom water-cooling system.
Current Build & Plans:
Case: Corsair Obsidian 1000D
Main Motherboard: ASRock X870E Taichi series
Main CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D (planned)
Second System: ASRock B850I Mini-ITX
GPU: Currently running an RTX 4070 Ti, with plans to upgrade
CPU Water Blocks: 2Ɨ EKWB Velocity²
Pumps: 4Ɨ D5 pumps
Fans: Up to 24 Arctic fans
Radiators: Multiple large radiators, including external cooling
Reservoirs: EKWB Kinetic reservoirs and distribution components
Fittings: EKWB extensions, rotary fittings, and adapters
Power Supplies: 1600W + 1000W for the dual-system configuration
Displays: EKWB Lumen 7-inch screens, with plans to add even more
The Interesting Part:
One of my biggest goals is to eliminate traditional visible tubing as much as possible. Instead, I’m using EKWB metal extensions, rotary fittings, and adapters to create a rigid, mechanical-looking cooling system.
Nearly every fitting in the build is EKWB. The only exceptions would be specialized adapters needed for analog pressure gauges and potentially temperature gauges, assuming I can find ones that fit properly.
I’m also planning to purchase the CPUs soon so I can move forward with installing the EKWB Velocity² water blocks on both systems.
Another part of the project is expanding the number of EKWB Lumen screens throughout the case. I want multiple displays integrated into the build to complement the overall mechanical aesthetic.
The Cooling Setup:
I’m planning a fairly extensive cooling configuration involving four D5 pumps, multiple radiators, EKWB reservoirs, and a large number of metal fittings.
The challenge is making everything fit together cleanly while maintaining proper coolant flow and keeping the layout as symmetrical and organized as possible.
I want the final result to look almost like an industrial machine, with visible metal connections, large cooling components, and very little conventional tubing.
What’s Next:
I’m currently working on finalizing the cooling layout, purchasing the CPUs, preparing the Velocity² blocks, and expanding the Lumen display setup.
This is definitely a long-term project, and I’m taking my time with the components rather than rushing to finish it.
The goal isn’t just performance. I want to create something unique that takes full advantage of the enormous space inside the 1000D.
I’ll be sharing more updates as the build progresses.

Scratch build Mac case mods

First time documenting something like this,
I started off with a old mac tower that I gutted. I made a custom acrylic motherboard tray that sat low enough that it would allow me to use the original pcie supports to mount the graphics card and I made templates for where it needed to go to allow fitment.
I used a laser hive front panel kit as trying to repin the original apple config seemed like a bad choice of weekend activity.
The first build that went into this was a x870 with a noctua dh15 cooler and 6900xt paired with a 9800x3d but I subsequently removed the components and soled those in a fractal north case.
I mounted some t bar unistrut and fitted the PSU on top on a 3d printed bracket as I wanted to keep the layout of the original Mac the same. I threaded the holes in the unistrut and then opened up the holes in the case to allow a bolt through that not only supports the power supply but adds lots of strength to the case.
I had fitted a air cooler previously so I wanted to do something different, so I mounted a AIO cooler and stripped everything back as much as possible to give a more open layout so in its current form it’s got a b550 motherboard, 5600g apu, 16GB 3200mts ram and a 1tb nvme with the 240mm aio

I understand spray paint has its advantages and acrylic has its own disadvantages but if we can use things like clear coat and others I don't see why literally no one is using them you can do way more then just plain colours something like shown in this photo which will look much better

My second custom loop project is ready šŸ‘ŒšŸ»

It's collab project with FSP, Alphacool and Gigabyte.

FSP U580 case, FSP MEGA GM 1000W, Gigabyte B850M Aorus Stealth.

All cooling parts from Alphacool.

Even it's big case there is not too much space with mATX motherboard 😁

2x360mm HPE radiator, DDCzero 200 pump+res combo, Core1 carbon Aurora CPU block, carbon fiber hard tubes, custom panels.

Earlier CPU block was Apex 1 but I think that Core1 carbon fits better and even it's smaller than Apex 1 the cooling performance with 9800X3D is almost identical šŸ‘ŒšŸ»

PSU PSU/GPU Mod on HP Pro desk SFF 400 G9

Hello, I have an old office PC (HP Pro desk SFF 400 G9) that I picked up for basically free, and I've been trying to upgrade it to be decent/average for gaming. Currently I'm trying to upgrade the GPU from an Nvidia T400 to an MSI GEFORCE 2080 SUPER. I am very new to the PC building world and also an idiot because I did not do any research about my PC and already purchased the new GPU.

I have since done my research and know that my PC's PSU (250w) is not good/strong/high enough to support the GPU. I currently plan/want to install a 650w-750w PSU, but those numbers are just a guess. I also know (now) that my motherboard has a proprietary pin layout that isn't compliant with the standard ATX PSU. I also know very well that the new hardware I'm thinking of using will not fit into the case/chassis, and I do not care; I am fine with cutting it to fit what I need.

I've tried AI (against my better judgement) and it's not really giving me a straight answer. I've gotten a range of "your pin layout allows you to buy this $15 adapter that will let you use any ATX PSU that you want" to "you'll need to solder and modify the cables, PSU, and other stuff in order to get this to (maybe) work." So, since I have an inherent mistrust of AI and don't know enough to tell when it's telling me straight BS, I came here. My main question is basically what I need to make this work. I also am not 100% on what the PIN layout of my motherboard is, which is part of why I'm so confused. Any and all help would be appreciated, especially advice for the future when dealing with my PC.

TL,DR: I messed up and bought a GPU that needs a stronger PSU that isn't compliant with my motherboard and I really want to brute force this into working.

Edit: I found this step by step (https://www.instructables.com/Use-ATX-PSU-With-HP-Motherboard-That-Uses-Propriet-1/) that sounds like it will work for exactly what I need here. Can anyone confirm if that's right?

This is the absolute BEST atx case I have ever built in before, and will absolutely be my go-to from now on. Modern fish tank styling with panoramic glass sides and special panels that adapt to whether it's a full sized ATX Motherboard or a mATX board like I have pictured here (Asus) Plenty of room for three fan full sized GPU's and gorgeous RGB strip accents. SUPER NICE šŸ‘šŸ» even has an included ARGB / Fan hub.

Case Pelican PC

I Designed and printed a custom PETG chassis inside a Pelican 1600.

I wanted to keep the Pelican completely unmodified while fitting a full ATX system and RTX 5080 inside.

The GPU has its own two-piece cradle, connected through a PCIe riser. Both the GPU and motherboard brackets are independently mounted on rubber bobbins (using m6 hardware) for shock and vibration isolation.

Cooling is 3 intake fans through a 360mm radiator and 1 exhaust. I designed the surrounding PETG to channel airflow through the components instead of leaving alot of open space.

The bottom frame is secured with 3M VHB, but everything above it is press-fit (aside from before mentioned computer board brackets). So, I can pull out individual sections and replace them without tearing the whole thing apart or damaging existing components

All the I/O is accessible inside the case, so there are no permanent holes cut into the Pelican.

Running a 265K, RTX 5080 SFF, 48GB DDR5, and a 1000W PSU.

Still making adjustments here and there, but it’s fully operational. Been a lot of trial and error getting everything to fit.

Thought you guys might appreciate it.

3D printed custom riser mount to get the GPU sitting 2mm off the bottom fans, 5mm below D15-G2 (in upper CPU mounting position)

Also moved GPU 30mm right to allow 2 exhaust fans at the rear instead of 1 in the cases upper MB mounting position.

Cosmetic Question on snow blind mod

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey guys.

I'm currently working on my first snow blind mod with an old monitor i had lying around. I've run into a problem regarding the rewiring of tje power cables . In the guides i'm using it only reffers to the 5V and ground cables. The monotor i am working on appears to habe a 12V cable as well on top of that.

Now my question.

Can i ignore it and proceed with just the 5V and ground or do I somehow need to connect the 12V to a power source as well?

Thank you for any helpfull input!

General Pc Mod advice for newbie

Hi everyone,

I am new to pc customization, basically just decided a few minutes ago to actually make my pc look like something I've wanted for a long time.

The problem is I dont know where or how to start. I upgraded my case as an early birthday present, and now the ideas are flooding in. I recently saw someone post a cathedral build on instagram and said that the kit they used was from ZombieTech gaming. I checked their website out but they don't do those kits for the case I bought (and its sold out anyway). It is a CoolerMaster Elite 302 Lite. Currently I have three ideas, one to make it look like its straight outta The Divine Comedy (its a thing, i am a literature dork and honestly my fav book series has so much intertextuality with Dante's work that I truly feel like making something cool). The second idea is something to do with vampires (hence the cathedral idea) and the third is DeathNote and bleach (its kind of a joke between me and hubby, he loves Bleach, I love Death Note - both has Shinigamis and well idk i just like the idea of making my pc a Shinigami battleground lol).

I am not a Blender guru, and I am by no means an artist. I dont own a 3D printer but I can get access to one. I just want to know where I can find or get something like that so I can build what I see in my head? Also that hopefully doesn't cost six arms and 12 legs. We live in Japan so I can't really import.

Thank you in advance :)

Cosmetic I have an issue with a snowblind mod and I'm hoping someone can help!

I have an issue with a snowblind mod and I'm hoping someone can help! I'm working with an LG2007fpb monitor and a Lancool III case. I've gone through several 19inch monitors and it just wasn't the exactly right sized and kept finding monitors that weren't exactly the COB you'd want. Yesterday I walked in to a shop and found the perfect monitor. Got it home and disassembled it and found out that powering it isn't going to be as simple as I was used to. In previous monitors I've disassembled on the LCD controller there is an obvious 5v and ground wire from the power supply and that is not the case here. After some research I found out the LCD controller takes in a 19v from the PSU, and then uses a separate USB board to stepdown to 5vs and also 3.3v to power the LCD control chip and honestly... I don't even know where to begin soldering. I want to power this via USB like every other monitor can but I'm running out of optimism that's possible as I've asked so many different AIs what they recommend and wind up running in circles.

If anyone has worked with this set up can you assist with a guide or what I need to do to get this off the ground? So far the options ive seen are
1) use a 19v 3.2amp laptop DC unit to power the 19v and let the chipset handle everything. To which.... I don't know where to locate the ground
2) solder in to a 5v fuse on the USB chip at q14 but I don't know how to use an ohm meter to tell which side is 5v and which is 19v.

Pics provided for all boards attached.
