I remember back in 1988, a friend gave me a copied cassette and both sides were filled with mostly Ital Disco songs from that era. For example, one of the songs I clearly remember was Love Spy by Mike Mareen but the cassette was not labelled so I have no Idea.
I remember a DJ talking to people in a club called The Pig & Whistle. The music was really loud and I could not make out whether the DJ had a British or American accent.
Sometime during the early 90s, my car was broken into and my entire collection of cassettes were stolen.
This is going to be difficult to articulate but I'll try my best..... One of these songs was a sort of Instrumental Synth Trance type song (mostly synthesizer) and had a very calming but enigmatic feel to it. Not sad or overly happy yet slightly upbeat. When it haunts me it is like the melody is struggling to break the surface and it is so frustrating - I have tried to think where I was physically and mentally at the time for this song to haunt me but honestly, it is a mystery.
It has been almost 40 years and I have heard a few songs that remind me strongly of that song but not the song I'm looking for.
Below I will add a few links and I hope I am not infringing on copyrights - these links are merely songs that remind me of that melody.
- The first link is from a YouTuber who composed music for his own tribute to the Airwolf TV show of the 80s. In the link below, the music starts at 3 minutes and the feel of this is very similar to the song I am looking for (but not quite)

- The next song is by Tony Ann (Pulse). While this is a bit faster, the chord progression from 11 second to 22 seconds reminds me more of that song.

- Lastly, the first 10 seconds of Enya's Lothlorien, reminds me of that song's melody too.

That is all I have and I hope somebody in this beautiful world can end this mystery for me PLEASE!!!!!
