Really encouraging to see Domi skating after what was assumed to be a potentially career ending injury. Glad he's doing better.

Discussion Only on Sportsnet+ tonight ?
I’ve never liked Rogers much, but making hockey fans pay an extra $25-30 each month to watch Monday night hockey is ridiculous. Guess I’m watching the ball game tonight instead.

Dramatic wins, blowout wins, and a first career game-winner for Gavin McKenna. This was a memorable 4-0-0 week for the Maple Leafs, with plenty to talk about.

Article [Siegel]: Auston Matthews’ evolving dominance and Jack Roslovic’s wheels: Monday Morning Leafs Report
The Leafs are confidently winning the Matthews’ minutes again, scoring over 60 percent of the goals in five-on-five minutes. They outscored the Oilers 2-0 in the 11-plus minutes that Matthews’ crew went head-to-head with Connor McDavid and Draisaitl on Saturday.
It’s also worth noting that Matthews has been going about his business in a less physical manner than before. He isn’t throwing as many hits or absorbing as many himself as in his peak years. He is blocking fewer shots and executing fewer takeaways.
What this all points to is a player, in his 11th NHL season, after two turbulent, injury-riddled years, evolving and finding new ways to dominate.

Discussion Do we think nylander is a hall of famer?
Nylander already has 3 40 goal seasons at 30. All players with 6 are in the hall of fame. And most with 5 are in. So if he puts up 2 to 3 more strong seasons including this one. He will probably have a decent argument. Especially if he plays longer to pad the stats. So what do you think. Will he make the hall of fame?

Discussion Leafs Goaltending has been overlooked
I’m sure no one has been saying it recently with out win streak. People still say it though
The team save percentage is top 10 in the league
Stolarz has a percentage over .900
Bobrovsky is just under .900
Yes both goalies have had bad games but those happen and defence can be put to blame for most of it
Honestly, I feel like it’s less about our current tandem and more about the 2 goalies we gave away (Woll, Hildeby)
People need to shut up saying “Why did we trade Woll”? “Hildeby was our future”!
On Hildeby, remember who we have as our 3rd string… the Calder cup mvp Artur Akhtyamov. Now Artur hasnt proved himself at NHL level yet (I’m sure he will get chances), but he is dominant in the marlies. DONT FORGET HILDEBY GOT US PAUL, and he has been killing it for us so far and he MIGHT be our new 2C even if JT comes back (most likely goes back to line 3 but idk)
On Woll, Now I feel like Chayka just didn’t want Woll and wanted to dump him, the 2 guys we got back in the trade aren’t on the team anymore (Ersson to Ottawa shortly after, Andrae in the Marchenko deal after we got Blakenburg)
It’s clear Chayka wanted an experienced goalie in our tandem who yes may be old, but he can kill it at often times, and he’s our guy in the playoffs!
Bob’s contract may be a little high but honestly who cares the cap goes up soon anyways.
MAIN POINT: Our goalies aren’t a problem and the goalies we gave away aren’t a problem. And Akhtyamov is a very good 3rd string incase of injury
Anyways, Calgary tomorrow we move 👍👍

Shitpost / Meme CRAIG SIMPSONS IN SHAMBLES UPVOTE PARTY!
Once again, the Edmonton Oiler fan and leaf-hating broadcasting terrorist was in fine fiddle on Saturday night.
More and more people in the PGT are getting real tired of this broadcast team (shout out to Anthony Petrielli on the mapleleafhotstove going into detail on his podcast a few days ago), maybe we should launch a change.org petition.

Discussion Speed, fitness, conditioning and depth
No secret the boys have looked faster and more energetic this year, and made me wonder whether their training and physical preparation has been better managed. Also wondering how much impact the depth is having on taking the physical load off the top line guys. Or is it more the new hires and not having dump and chase corroding their souls every night? I’m not and expert and happy to be schooled on these questions.

Discussion Hats off to the fans outside Toronto
Was at the game last night and we owned that building. It was loud and rocking and the blue was bleeding true! Way to go everyone. Had lots of friendly Oilers fans in awe of how we show up outside of Toronto, one fan said we were even better then a Leafs home game...and they were not wrong. Gotta step it up back home.
I go every year to this game but this one was special and extremely loud. Well done
Edit: My favorite thing was walking the concourse and how everyone was first bumping eachother. Like every leaf fan I saw held out their fist. This was a new thing from previous years. I started doing to everyone too and every single fan obliged and stuck theirs out to make the epic connection!
Also the Jumbotron that kept putting the wrong score and giving the Oilers a goal after Leafs scored. Fans went lived and then when it was corrected would erupt with cheers. So funny. They did this like 3 times.
Love you guys!
