So pumped to get this new beast in the house. Weekend range day can't come soon enough.
What comparisons would the group like to see? Fowler Vanta9? Cardinal G2P? TTi Sand Viper? RCD RC9? Miller Precision Kovert X Miller, Atlas Apollo? Open to suggestions, Happy to throw top requests in the gun case for some friendly one-on-one.

This thing is sweet, smoov and fun. It’s hot too, hammer is satisfying as hell. I carry it concealed owb for now till I secure an x300 and an iwb holster for it. Love this weapon. Osight is surprisingly good too

Hey everyone,
got a TTI Sand Viper (bought March 2025) and just found a crack in the frame.
The crack runs along the slot of the Picatinny rail (where you mount a light like a Surefire), right in the area of the right fang (bladed stand-off).
Has anyone else seen this on a Sand Viper or Pit Viper?
Looking for similar experiences and how TTI handled the warranty.
Thanks.

Shout out to Trenton @TDSgunworks. Did this amazing job on my Kimber 2K11 Pro Royal and it came out amazing. I put a Wolff 9lb variable strength recoil spring and will be going to test it out later on this week. Turn around was super fast also. Send it to him on Thursday and got it back Friday the week later. 🔫🔫

Took the reaper back out for its second running and shot without the distractions of the 1st trip. I will say, this time around it was more enjoyable. It’s flat, it’s loud and it’s fast, no doubt about it. It’s a fun ride. I’m gonna hold off on making any comparisons to anything until I get a few more trips out just to enjoy it. From a shooting experience still more time needed. From a quality review standpoint, I have my answers already.

Lunch time 1/2 hour pop in. My grenade ported Romulus that’s an iron sight gun, and a brand new prodigy 5 I took on a trade for some work. Shot it right out of the pouch.
I don’t like prodigy’s as a general rule But I think Ima make this one stupid with some smithing, just because.
Romulus might end up getting a dot. Eyes just getting older but it’s been a really fun bowling pin gun for 20k +.
Kind of feels it should be right in their wheelhouse?
It feels like they could be right in that Kimber mass produced sweet spot.
LGS over the last year has had about four Kimber’s 2K11 in the case at one time. 5 inch, government length (one of each comp and not comped).
This past trip they had about 25 of them in the case and they were moving them.
It seems like every week 15 new builders enter the market. It appears the margins are there.
Do they hate making money?
The Colt 1911 was kinda of the standard for 100 years.
🤷♂️

Currently running an Sig Sauer P320 Spectre Comp (blackout) with a Trijicon SRO and an X300 Ultra. I want to get more into the 2011 platform for the better trigger.
I'm down to the Sig P211 and the Kimber 2K11 Pro Comp.
For anyone who's owned or shot both:
Trigger: Which has the better stock trigger (weight, take-up, reset)?
Flat shooting: Which tracks flatter and recovers faster with the comp?
Reliability: Any issues out of the box? What ammo do they like?
Value: Which is the better buy for the money, and what upgrades would you budget for on each?
Optic and light: Any problems mounting an SRO and an X300?
Appreciate any real-world feedback, especially from people with P320 experience.

Look, I'm that rare gun owner that keeps his collection low to the ground so I want One. I go to the range twice a week and this will not be a safe queen; I plan on shooting the hell out of it. Competition isn't out of the question, but it will more than likely just be a range toy. I have experience on the platform but I haven't shot anything particularly nice. I've been looking at all the usual suspects but I'm hoping for expert opinions from the dudes who know.
I'm looking for a very soft shooter, so almost certainly government length, ported or comped or both. I Don't want an island barrel, but island comps are great.
Must have an optics cut and front serrations. I like a rail, but it's not completely necessary.
If it matters I have smaller hands.
Lastly, I want a company with good customer service. That kind of thing matters to me.

Currently pondering if I make the switch to a Spitfire in order to be able to compete in Open Division with Major PF scoring. I am looking for viable information on how good this gun lasts with Major PF Ammo. Anyone here having issues with parts breaking and if so, after how many rounds? Also interested if you have no problems after 20k-30k rounds of 9mm Major with this gun.

The Lambo Safe Guy has DONE IT AGAIN!! I am bringing home Encore’s brother with the highly anticipated serial number: LAMBO SAFE GUY1. Shout out to Infinity Firearms for designing and building this Patriotic Masterpiece for all us to enjoy. 🔥🔥🔥
I ordered this non-ported as well. I made a decision that I can finally handle 9mm recoil 🤣🤣🤣
300 rounds in and am very happy with it.
Any recommendations or should I leave it as is for now?

Any idea how the fuck I did this?
Probably around the 80k mark for round count through this P. I saw Ben stoeger post the same failure but I never got any explanation.
Big shout out to the in town staccato guys for replacing it for no cost when I brought it in.

USPSA: Kusomworx Vulcan w/ Mercier custom trigger work
Back story:
For those that may have seen my original post showing off the trigger work from Eric Mercier, I figured I’d give an actual live fire review as I finally got out to the range yesterday to put it through its paces.
This gun always had a good trigger, 2lb pull, little bit of side to side play, close to no vertical play, good reset. I switched to a red dirt trigger and loved having a totally flat trigger. Long story short the second time fitting red dirt trigger, first was a staccato to red dirt that required almost no fitting, just a little removal at corners of trigger now, nothing on shoe. The first red dirt in this gun required shoe fitting and I thought it needed the tabs on the bow taken down, Well it turns out it just needed more shoe fitting, the first red dirt bow could move vertically, for all intents and purposes it worked and felt great but I was chasing the dragon so I decided to buy a new red dirt and do it again.
Catastrophe struck, while fitting I forced the red dirt forward into the track before it was the right size and I gauged my trigger track. This is where Eric comes in, he said he could fix it and when we got to talking, we ultimately decided I was going to be happier if I did a full custom trigger while he had it for repair.
Review:
200+ dry fire, 250 live fire
fitment: Wow…. 0 vertical play and I mean ZERO
Trigger pull: 1-2mm of pre travel (by request), glass on glass smooth, firm wall, glass rod break (super short semi roll) 2lb break (exactly as requested) he could make the trigger do what ever I wanted it to do
Reset: …. Just crazy, how he managed to keep the pull weight at 2lb while adding noticeably more positive force to the reset is beyond me, I thought I had a good reset before, now it’s another level. Bill drills thank Eric Mercier
Shooting: The control I felt with this trigger was amazing, having a trigger that can literally only move in one direction that breaks the exact same every single time is Awesome!
Total package: Receiving my gun back, I got a printout detailing all work that was done on my pistol including measurements for hammer hooks, exact parts that were used, etc. he also included a discount code for future work, patches and his business card
Time frame: my gun was out of my Hands for 1 month
Customer experience: Eric and I spoke via phone and the guy is just a wealth of 1911/2012 knowledge, super friendly, super helpful. Also incredibly responsive via email. A+ experience
Thank you u/EricMercier, I hope one day I can get a full custom build with you

Hey r/2011! Got a question about compatibility of 1911 parts with a Staccato P.
Can this Wilson Combat trigger be installed on the Staccato P?
Could I take off the stock trigger shoe of the Staccato and replace it with this 3-Hole off this Wilson trigger?
Forgive me if these are "common sense" questions when it comes to 2011's. I am new to the 1911/2011 world and am trying to get a Staccato P to look a little more like a classic 1911.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Looking to see how owners are liking their kovert x miller guns after shooting a few thousand rounds through them. How do they hold up against other 2011s like rcds, mpas, xcs, reapers, etc. thinking of picking one up with an additional not ported sight block barrel to run in lo. Any actual input would be appreciated.

Anyone ordered directly from LFA recently (last month or so) and actually received their stuff? I know about the bankruptcy and the alleged Century Arms buyout falling through, but I'm wondering if they're completely done.
My Apollo V2 has been running fine, and I'd love to get the copper LFA magwell to match the slide. I know Dawson Precision has options that can fit with some minor modifications, but I'd prefer the LFA one. Is it worth gambling on an order?
