Found this in my local gun store. I really want to get into the 2011 world. I want something that is going to be reliable though and I donāt much about the girsans. Thoughts?
Thank you

I got this inexpensive āaluminum bronzeā screwdriver on Amazon a couple weeks ago and itās made removing safeties quite a bit easier. It seems like I can put quite a bit of pressure against the frame of the gun and it doesnāt marr when popping safeties. Does anyone else use these aluminum screwdrivers? I originally wanted a brass one but misread the item description.

So pumped to get this new beast in the house. Weekend range day can't come soon enough.
What comparisons would the group like to see? Fowler Vanta9? Cardinal G2P? TTi Sand Viper? RCD RC9? Miller Precision Kovert X Miller, Atlas Apollo? Open to suggestions, Happy to throw top requests in the gun case for some friendly one-on-one.

I've never shot an Atlas Athena, so I'm genuinely curious to hear from owners who have both an Athena and other 2011s.
For example, I own an RCD Core, which has very similar geometry to the Athena, even down to the trigger. Let's say both guns have the same barrel length, recoil spring weight, and similar overall weight and balance. What exactly makes the Athena return to zero so much better?
I'm not talking about fit, finish, build quality, or aesthetics. Strictly shooting performance.
Is there something unique about the Athena's design that makes it perform noticeably better? Or could another properly tuned 2011 theoretically achieve the same results? Is there some secret Atlas magic I'm missing? Lol.
I'm really just trying to get some opinions before pulling the trigger on an Athena. I'm conflicted between saving up for one or going with something a little different and cool, like a Miller x Kovert.
Would love to hear from people who've actually owned and shot both. Is the Athena really that much better from a pure shooting standpoint?

My day started at 6am so I could be at the Cancer Center by 8. How lucky am I to have a best friend who had to start his day early so he could take me! Nick Chandler ensures that I make it! I was very lucky! When I was first diagnosed with stage 4 cancer my oncologist told me that no matter what I canāt stop living. That brings the second part of my day. At 6pm pistol league starts. I go even with my chemo bag attached. It definitely makes it harder but thatās okay! I got 4th out of 20 tonight and itās so much fun!! How lucky am I that I get to still enjoy my Viking Valknut! That dude Jacob is doing some incredible things! Then I get to come home to Vivienne and feed her snacks! What a great day! Cancer definitely sucks but Iām living life!!! Iām blessed!! #fuckcancer #chemotherapy #shooting

Im stuck between trying the 10 lb or 36 constant spring. Anyone ever tune the xp comp for pmc 124? If so, what spring did you end up going with?
Context: My fusion xp comp runs awesome through the first 500 but im still getting a touch of muzzle rise and sluggish slide return that im just trying to optimize for funzies. Only 1 fte on the 2nd round i put through it, other than that ive had no issues whatsoever and accuracy is on par or better than any other pistol I have. Getting about a 2-3" group at 15 yards (most likely my fault though, im not there yet).

Hey everyone,
got a TTI Sand Viper (bought March 2025) and just found a crack in the frame.
The crack runs along the slot of the Picatinny rail (where you mount a light like a Surefire), right in the area of the right fang (bladed stand-off).
Has anyone else seen this on a Sand Viper or Pit Viper?
Looking for similar experiences and how TTI handled the warranty.
Thanks.

Shout out to Trenton @TDSgunworks. Did this amazing job on my Kimber 2K11 Pro Royal and it came out amazing. I put a Wolff 9lb variable strength recoil spring and will be going to test it out later on this week. Turn around was super fast also. Send it to him on Thursday and got it back Friday the week later. š«š«

I bought one of these a few years ago traded it in on something else, walked in and found it had been traded back- for the price I picked it back up. For anyone wondering I have Probally 1200 rounds through it, no idea how many were put through when the other guy had it, but itās running great, very crisp trigger, and is a great gun. Should have kept it. If youāre on the fence and can find one it should be a consideration.

Hi all,
First post here but looking for some guidance.
Current 2011 lineup is an XC, GTO, and kimber pro comp. Had a chance to shoot an MPA ds9 ported hybrid (non TC), and a few guns from Alpha American. Really liked the Alphas but donāt really want to go that high price wise - although I could be convinced.
My local shop has a ported DS9 hybrid that I really like - Iām considering trading in the GTO and Kimber towards that since itād mostly cover the cost of the gun.
Has anyone shot the DS9 TC and the ported hybrid?
Curious which you liked better and why if so.
Iām thinking I can get 4k ish for GTO and Kimber - could potentially throw an extra 1-2k on top of that if thereās really something special but open to any ideas.
Purpose of gun is honestly just go fast range toy - not looking to compete but I do want to start building up a collection of a handful of higher end 2011s.

Took the reaper back out for its second running and shot without the distractions of the 1st trip. I will say, this time around it was more enjoyable. Itās flat, itās loud and itās fast, no doubt about it. Itās a fun ride. Iām gonna hold off on making any comparisons to anything until I get a few more trips out just to enjoy it. From a shooting experience still more time needed. From a quality review standpoint, I have my answers already.

Lunch time 1/2 hour pop in. My grenade ported Romulus thatās an iron sight gun, and a brand new prodigy 5 I took on a trade for some work. Shot it right out of the pouch.
I donāt like prodigyās as a general rule But I think Ima make this one stupid with some smithing, just because.
Romulus might end up getting a dot. Eyes just getting older but itās been a really fun bowling pin gun for 20k +.

Currently running an Sig Sauer P320 Spectre Comp (blackout) with a Trijicon SRO and an X300 Ultra. I want to get more into the 2011 platform for the better trigger.
I'm down to the Sig P211 and the Kimber 2K11 Pro Comp.
For anyone who's owned or shot both:
Trigger: Which has the better stock trigger (weight, take-up, reset)?
Flat shooting: Which tracks flatter and recovers faster with the comp?
Reliability: Any issues out of the box? What ammo do they like?
Value: Which is the better buy for the money, and what upgrades would you budget for on each?
Optic and light: Any problems mounting an SRO and an X300?
Appreciate any real-world feedback, especially from people with P320 experience.

Currently pondering if I make the switch to a Spitfire in order to be able to compete in Open Division with Major PF scoring. I am looking for viable information on how good this gun lasts with Major PF Ammo. Anyone here having issues with parts breaking and if so, after how many rounds? Also interested if you have no problems after 20k-30k rounds of 9mm Major with this gun.
