Is there any way to force BEX to reset the flashpoints?

I have the DLC flashpoints, the BEX ones, and the optional additional ones.

The problem is that none of the Helm series or grey legion flashpoints have ever appeared. Some, like the one for the lostech items way in the east of the map appear in game, but as soon as I save the game, turn it off, and come back in, they are gone and never reappear.

I know some of these are time gated, but ones like the War of '39 still appear for decades after '39.

Im looking to buy the game, but I want to buy the version that has the most mod compatibility. Does the overhaul mods like Roguetech, BTAU and such need the Steam version or GOG version?

I'm at the point where I'm starting to tank pirate and Laio rep and building cash. I need to average visiting a new planet every 5.4 days while earning 119 C-Bill score per day.

I feel like I'm going to fall short on both, but I'd like a second opinion before starting over.

Waiting for computer repair to go back to BTAU, I'm back to Vanilla BT. Went max-difficulty + and have been getting some big mechs against my 55-ton and under lance of 4.
Took a "Titan Attack" on a 2.5 skull contract. Ran up against 6 bad guys defending a base. Nothing big. Hop-n-Pop, theyre gone and something blows off an arm of my PPC Griffin.
On the border behind us, an Annihilator. Quad AC10s.
Only thing I have close is a single-weapon UAC-10. I get one hex into range, use Called Shot...

New to the IP (I put off playing this for years because I thought it was ripping off the Mechwarrior IP lol), and new to this style of tabletop (DnD player mainly).

I can't seem to figure out how to manage difficulty. I'm playing the regular campaign with all DLCs and it seems like the difficulty marker is useless?

I just did 3 missions in a row with a 3 difficulty score and they were painfully easy (default settings), I don't think I even took damage, mostly vehicle based missions. Then I just played one with an ambush and I ended up 8v4, and all of their mechs bar 1 were heavier and more heavily armed than mine.

I hate saved scumming in games and prefer to just lick my wounds but I find I wanted to see if I could beat it and I'm finding it practically impossible. In some instances they are getting early initiative and just demoing some of my medium mechs before I even get a turn to react. It's not as though the AI is playing clever either or manoeuvring well, they are just walking forward, standing still and just playing out fire and I'm just being wiped.

How do you guys approach it, do you just accept you get team wipes every so often from a tough mission?

So I was playing The Baying of Hounds flashpoint last week (I'm using BEXT. No idea if that matters) and found it very easy. I moved forward and triggered the prime spot for an ambush talk.

But then, nothing happened. I killed the first Mech. Then the second. Still no ambush. Finally the two other Mechs woke up, but now being outnumbered two to one, they stood no chance.

The rest of the fight was a little harder, but I think it had more to do with my Leeroy Jenkins approach after the initial part of the mission had been that easy.

Trouble was, I ran out of time and had to shut down my computer, not realizing that the game doesn't autosave between Flashpoint missions.

Today, I tried my luck again, expecting an even easier victory. After all, I already knew what was coming at me. Oh boy, was I wrong. Again I triggered the ambush talk, but this time 50k LRMs kept raining down on me per turn and before I knew it, I was dead.

I have no idea why. Is this how the mission is actually supposed to be? Am I too stupid for this game? Did I encounter a weird bug during my first attempt? Or is there a hidden mechanic I'm not aware of?

I’m tinkering along on Haydes Rim and happen to be 1 day from the monthly finance screen, but also next day triggers a cut scene “lustful ballad” cutting in over the news.

That plays through, then the monthly expenses flash on screen and the game hangs itself…

Had to force quit and restart ~5 times and not sure how to get around this loop. Tried triggering travel first, or just chilling in orbit.

Any suggestions? It’s a hardcore file so only one real save to load.

Since I just got the atlas, I was wondering which mechs to keep, so far I had been using my the war hammer and trebuchet and the centurion and blackjack up until now…. I’d love y’all’s advic3…thanks.

BTA Wiki is Back!

So i found about Mechwarrior 5, and through that found out that this game exists. A friend owns it and i watched him play for a bit. Overal, it seems fun, and i'm considering getting it.

But it'll take a while to get a gaming pc, so right now i'm stuck with my MSI modern 15 laptop. And i can't figure out if i can actually successfully run the game on it. People with experience, can you tell me if it'd work?

I have no budget, but offer full salvage rights to any commander willing to take on the job :P.

I use to have a cheat sheet that explains what you might get with certain filters ( Mining = AC guns ) but for the life of me can’t remember what filter to use to find those things in Battletech the vanilla turn based PC game .

Howdy there folks. I just wanted to share i put together a Grasshopper and put six mech grenade launchers on it and its pilot has knife fighter it slaps shit apart. Just wanted to see what the community thinks and if ya'll have any builds you want to share

Like absolute highest single shot? I once got that mech from allying with the capellans (the one with 2 versions and one version has 2 MIRVs). I saw there was 8 missile hard points on it but they were all on the arms so the most I could fit was a 110 missile volley if I removed the artemis features. Is there anything else that lets me slap on more? (I don't mind if you have to overheat and remove all armor)

Hey everyone, bloodydoves here with a BTAU update for you, sadly not a good one.

As I'm sure many of you know, PHP is having a bit of a "main character of the day" moment today and much of the internet is being taken offline until vulnerabilities with PHP can be patched. This sadly includes the BTAU wiki, which does make use of PHP and has been taken offline until such time as we can get it patched. We're working on it now but it's gonna take us a bit due to small team size and a general unfamiliarity with the process. We'll get it done and when we do I'll be back to let folks know it's back online.

Which mechs have you had the most success with in melee? And which ones have you been able to combine into a lance? They can be mechs with or without melee weapons.

I just completed the campaign for the first time. Now what? Is it just an endless career mode? I have all the DLC. Do i just go for the Flashpoint missions?

Just trying to see if I want to continue or try career mode.

I know this happened a few updates ago, and is a super simple one, but the quality of life impact the simple Barracks mod of highlighting pilot skills that are ready to level up in green is phenomenal. No more clicking on every single pilot to see if they're ready to level up. Thanks bloody and the btau team.

But I know I'm not even CLOSE to the best. I'm unsure how to crack that Elite ceiling.

Am using a 5120 x 1440 resolution.

In steam, click on snowflake symbol -> properties -> Launch Options

-popupwindow -screen-height 1440 -screen-width 5120

For me this worked to fill the screen (no idea why, lol):

-popupwindow -screen-height 2000 -screen-width 7420

I just booted the game after not having played in like 5+ years and the interior of the ship looks like this, is this normal? The missions didn't have this kinda red stuff, it keeps moving. Not sure which settings would help.

Edit. I seem to have gotten it fixed by updating my drivers.
