Lambda Chi Alpha (ΛΧΑ) – Secret Meanings, Greek Letters, and Delta Pi (ΔΠ) Explained

• Upvotes

I wanted to share a Quizlet study set containing six entries about Lambda Chi Alpha's Greek letters, meanings, and traditions.

Below is the complete information included in the flashcards.

1. First Degree

"By the eye that never blinks, by the shadow that has no owner, and by the moon that remembers no name, I bind my silence to the circle. What is buried shall remain buried, and what is whispered shall never see the sun."

2. Second Degree

"When the thirteenth flame burns without fire, and the faceless witness speaks without a tongue, I shall stand among the nameless. Neither bone nor dust, neither time nor death, shall sever the bond we have sworn beneath the unseen light."

3. Third Degree

"Before the serpent with seven shadows, I surrender the name I carried before the dawn. Let the silent bell mark my passage, let the blackened stars bear witness, and let no stranger know the path by which I entered."

4. Lambda Chi Alpha (ΛΧΑ)

Meaning: Our flame shall never die.

5. Delta Pi (ΔΠ)

Latin Words: Ducere Perstantes

Greek: Δύναμις Προόδου

Translated Meaning: Strength Through Progress

According to this Quizlet set, Delta Pi represents "Strength Through Progress."

6. ZAX (ΖΑΧ)

Offering tutoring in Greek (Attic, Koine, Homeric) and Latin

Hello!

I am a native Greek speaker and a graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), Department of Classics. I have also worked in my apprenticeship in Historical and Palaeographical Archive of the Cultural Foundation of the National Bank of Greece (MIET) as a curator for manuscripts (mainly psalters of the Comnenian era).

I offer online tutoring in Attic Greek, Koine Greek, Homeric Greek and Latin.

Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some knowledge of the language, I can help with grammar, syntax, translation and reading the original texts.

For Koine Greek, I can help with reading the New Testament and Septuagint in the original.

For Attic and Homeric Greek, we can work directly with the classical authors, depending on your level and interests. The same applies to Latin.

I currently have some availability for November and am looking to take on a few more students.

Lessons are normally two hours, and I offer a free 30-minute introduction first, so that we can discuss your level, what you would like to study, and how I can help you.

Pricing per hour:

1hr per week 40€,

2hrs or more 35€

If you are interested, feel free to send me a message and tell me a little about yourself, your level and what you would like to study.

Thank you!

Question about FSI Greek course

This is what the website says and I am just curious if someone were able to elaborate further on the “Greek language question” and if the course would still be efficient?
