Team Needed [RevShare] I Helped Market a Game to 350,000+ Steam Wishlists And Now I’m Looking for Co-Founders to Build Our Very Own Indie Studio.
Hey everyone!
I have 3.5 years of experience in game publishing, including contributing to a horror FPS that reached 350,000+ Steam wishlists / Top 0.03% on Steam as part of a three-person publishing team. The game also secured multimillion-dollar funding after organically reaching around 200,000 wishlists.
I left the studio last year, and this year I've mostly been freelancing in self-publishing part-time while working something else IRL.
I have a strong understanding of how the Steam algorithm works and experience across pretty much everything that goes into self-publishing a video game: wishlist growth, community building, PR, influencer outreach, content creation, strategy, and growth hacks.
I also learned how to create trailers, cinematics, and devlogs using Level Sequencer in Unreal Engine 5 and DaVinci Resolve, alongside a little bit of development, so I can be as useful as possible within an indie team.
For this start-up, I'm mainly interested in people with existing industry experience in areas such as 3D art, animation, level design, technical art, or game design. (Realistic Artstyle)
The mindset I'm looking for is open-minded and experimental, people willing to focus on what actually works rather than becoming overly attached to a single idea.
You may have noticed that programming isn't on that list. That's because the studio would work a little differently from a traditional indie studio. From the very beginning, we'd be publishing and market-validation focused.
That said, if you're a programmer who has experience and is genuinely passionate about the idea and wants to participate, I'd still love to talk.
The goal is simple: Commit heavily and go full-time once we know we have something with real potential. I don't want to waste anyones time working on a video game for years without making sure the hard work will be rewarded.
Let's talk about RevShare, everyone involved would have an equal share, while initially retaining ownership of the work they create. Once we have a project with strong enough validation, the plan would be to formally establish a company in whichever region makes the most sense for the potential investors, go full-time and hire the team we need to finish the game and expand. As mentioned above, already have the experience in growing a game to such stage that attracts investors.
To be part of this, you'd need to commit around 2.5 hours a day, 5 days per week, on days of your choosing. We'd just need one shared day each week for a team catch-up, progress updates, and planning.
Feel free to DM me here on reddit, on my LinkedIn or on my discord: "bobthebingus". I prefer discord simply because we need to have a video call at some point.
P.S. Here's a picture of me at Gamescom with some fans of the game I worked on! I hid their faces just in case since i didn't get their permission to post em here.
