Religion So what exactly is Biblical marriage for men?

Post image
• Upvotes

I took this picture a few weeks ago. As I was eating my lunch, this old frail couple came and sat. I unwittingly start observing them. So this guy leads the prayer for the food. He then starts carefully unwrapping that kebab and hands it over to the wife then goes for his. Oh I just noticed the ring on his finger as well.

You see in Scripture men are commanded to love their wives and the model is how Christ loved the church. The moment you marry your wife is the moment you die to self. She is your primary focus. She comes before your kids. You know I was reading 1 Peter and it said treat your wife with honor and understanding so that your prayers may not be hindered. Can you imagine that badly treating your wife can actually hinder prayers!

So if you are going to strive to please God in your marriage, you basically have to become a 'simp' by these stupid worldly standards. You simp for your wife hard. Love her with every fibre of your being. Imagine a situation where you are actively and unconditionally loving your wife and giving her all the honor, then she also actively submits to your authority as the husband, respects you, which is of course is another explicit command, that's how you end up like this couple right here.

Casual Heartbroken over a talking stage I never even got to meet in person.

I made a reckless post on here while drunk, and he slid into my DMs cos of it. We flirted a little, exchanged contacts, and kept talking.Conversations with him felt so natural. Everything flowed effortlessly. We’d text until 3 a.m, talking about everything and nothing. I let him in on my problems, and he listened, offered his perspective, and made me feel understood. He let me in on his problems too, and somewhere along the way, I started feeling safe with him.
After a few days of talking, we noticed how complicated our circumstances were, and we mutually agreed that neither of us was in a position to give the other what they wanted, so we ended things amicably.
But damn, I was happy for a moment there.
It’s strange grieving someone you never met, and the potential of what could have been.
I don’t regret it, and I know we made the right decision. But I wish the timing had been different.
For a moment, I was happy. And I wish it had lasted a little longer.

Casual Friends.

So I have this friend... He calls me to check on me. We start talking and he asks me how I got into the predicament I am in. (Struggling with life). I start explaining and he finds it humorous. When I tell him about a particular situation he chimes in and starts to talk about himself.

I didn't even finish talking and excused myself.

I want to port away from telkom due to terrible network. I am informed by both Airtel and Safaricom that this is not an option any more. Any idea what happened and if this service will ever be available again?

Discussion 'helicopter class'

The critique of everyday life—or something like it—happens all the time in the disintegrating spectacle, but this critique falls short of any project of transforming it. The spectacle points constantly to the more extreme examples of the ills of this world—its longest commutes, its most absurd disparities of wealth between slum dwellers and the helicopter class, as if these curios legitimated what remains as some kind of norm. How can the critique of everyday life be expressed in acts? Acts which might take a step beyond Emmalee Bauer’s magnum opus and become collaborations in new forms of life? Forms of life which are at once both aesthetic and political and yet reducible to the given forms of neither art nor action? These are questions that will draw us back over several centuries of critical practice.

That passage is from page 21/221 of McKenzie Wark - The Spectacle of Disintegration. Good read. Chanced upon it randomly on the net. It's a challenging piece - non fiction.

Thought I'd share it with regard to recent riots in France and elections in Brazil.

The helicopter paragraph is about the elite in Rio who get ferried around in choppers to shirk traffic jams.

The Book is about the Situationists. Debord and the like.

Funny, the French are famous for their revolutionary riots. I digress.

Closer to home - we've got a 'helicopter class'; I wonder what the Kibra dwellers think when they see a chopper zipping through the sky above their abodes. Must suck. The chopper ferrying the đubrište class - who suck the public coffers dry to fund their lavish. Must suck.

Serbia has ended the rule of their authoritarian government today, thanks to their Gen Z led protests that started 2 years ago. Just like us.

Let this be hope that we can send the devil back to Sugoi. They ended a 12 year regime, so what's a 5 year term? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Casual Your social media is how people perceive you

As a recovering introvert I am learning that posting your achievements, ambitions, activities and thoughts will help people be curious and interested in you as a person. This is true for professional, casual and romantic relationships as people believe what you show then, not what you say. And as a person who is smarter and more talented than meets the eye, posting on social media has helped my relationships with people aligned to my lifestyle, ambitions, work and love life. Just try it, it works like a charm.

Discussion What do you do when you've been left with a handbag?

Today after work, I was just about to walk past the gate when I heard someone calling me. At that moment I looked back and I just saw it was my walking partner. We always go the same route so we just walk together till we reach the stage where we board a matatu.

She had a handbag and she told me to carry it for her. She said she was rushing to the toilet. I thought maybe it was an emergency or something similar to that. I was really reluctant to remain with her handbag because it was very feminine. It was pink and it had looked like those ones for bad bichess.

I wanted to ask her, " Mbona unaniachia bag, Bag ni ya nini?".

Before I could ask, she had already gone. I wanted to place the handbag on the ground but I said to myself that it'll get dirty. So I lifted it and tried to put it on top of a pillar. I was just not comfortable holding that bag.

I told myself that I'll guard that bag like a dog. I would just not touch it. It just seemed awkward because it was in front of the gate.

" Bothjob, unafanya nini na bag za wasichana?"

I heard one of the most feminine and suprano voices ask me that. I looked behind and she was cute.

" Ushaanza kubebea wasichana bag, umepata mtu sindio?"

I was left speechless. I really didn't know what to say. She smiled at me and went to board a matatu nearby. That is when my walking patner came and I just told her, " Karibu unitoe soko".

She just laughed and we went on to tell other stories.

Ask r/Kenya MERCY MASIKA MASTERCLASS

Why TF are women against their own when it comes to topics 'traditional?'

Hasn't the girl child been adequately empowered such that in big 2026, most women are very much capable to choose what to and what not to do?

If becoming a wife is insufferable, as some of you say (LOL), why not go for another masterclass that isn't about that which you proudly hate?

Are some women shocked that there actually exist other women who desire marriage and family-making more than they desire plush-independent-'fulfilling' office jobs?

This has been eye opening considering the vocal responses from the public on whether women even desire marriage, biblical or not, and if that's the case, won't men equally not desire the same since we're learning the hatred our spouses-to-be harbor for long-term commitment?

Equality is nonsense, IMO, in every relationship, there has to be a leader and a follower, not a partner as some of y'all love to canvas it, and I sure as Hell know no woman desires to be a leader in a marriage, so why not learn what you can from those willing to speak up and are in it and tailor your own desired path without this notion of bashing that which you feel doesn't resonate with your modern 'standards'?

It's becoming more apparent these women desire marriage on their own terms but lack the urge to actually be a wife.

Ask r/Kenya How is this guy still in, since 2000's buana?😂

In 2015 this dude gave us a banger, that I'd play till the day I die and the song was "Something for you" and that hit made me his biggest fan. Down the line, he made Oliel and TBT and some songs that blew up back then and today I decide to jump into his new albums and releases and I feel carried...Why? This guy has the same rap style and same music style and funny enough he even adds a little bit of kenyan local lingua to his music to make it more interesting and it's crazy how it really fits...

I'm wondering though, are the claims that he buys views and listens true, hakuna mtu anapenda this dude for real for real?

Although I give him my flowers, sometimes his music becomes boring because it's translation of English to swahili, I'm sure octopizo would something like "Wananiita octopus, Juu mi ni pweza, vile nimeweza namba nane, yani eight town"😂

Discussion Kenyans Vote For The Leader of Opposition

Hii itapita wengi. When Kenyans play fantasy football on election day, the first position they fill is the GOALKEEPER.

On election day in Kenya, Kenyans do not go to vote for a president. They go to vote for an opposition leader. Kenyans have always loved and valued the leader of opposition more than the president. This is something Sifuna needs to understand as the general election comes up next year.

Kenyans are emotionally drawn to the person who can fight government. When they feel you have integrity, ethics and rule of law, they make sure you become the leader of opposition by voting for someone else. They get attached to the fight and the rebel in you so they put you in a position where you will fight and rebel. Like Raila, Kenyans will give Sifuna the leader of opposition in 2027 because they love him and they are emotionally connected to him and they trust him to fight government more than they trust Ruto to fight government.

Kenyans did not go to the election to vote for Uhuru, they went to the election to make sure that Raila Odinga is the leader of opposition.

Kenyans did not vote for Kibaki and let Kibaki steal the election, Kenyans were just making sure that Raila Odinga is the opposition leader.

Kenyans don't trust government so they value the leader of opposition more than the presidency. They want someone they can trust to keep the government in check. They want someone who will fight for them and speak up against the government. This person is more valuable to Kenyans than the president. Kenyans will go out of their way to make sure that the person they love and trust the most is in the opposition.

For Sifuna to be president, he must avoid being loved. He must make sure that Ruto is loved more than he is.

Kenyan's vote emotionally. Then, after elections are over, they protest logically after voting. They put their full weight behind the leader of opposition so that they can protest.

Kenyans are not looking to change Ruto in 2027, they are looking to install the next Raila. Sifuna is the next Raila. Kenyans love Sifuna and they know he can be trusted to stand up for Kenyans and defend the constitution. This is why Kenyans will give Sifuna the privilege of being leader of opposition in 2027. Ruto is making Sifuna the next Raila. "Yule jamaa hana agenda. Yule fala. Yule hana mpango." Ruto is making sure Kenyans love Sifuna and trust Sifuna. At the ballot, Kenyans will put logic aside and pick a president and more importantly, they will pick Sifuna as their leader of opposition. That is the position Kenyan's have always valued.

Once again...when Kenyans play fantasy football on election day, the first position they fill is the GOALKEEPER SIFUNA. Hizo position zingine they will auto fill without caring.

Kenyans will joke with all elective positions BUT they will not joke with the leader of opposition role. Hiyo hawata bahatisha.

Food for thought.

Syntax!

Today I woke up determined to remove myself from the pits. I’ve had the toughest year yet. In fact I’m behind on my rent by a lot, you know how that one bill can depress the heck out of you. I’m surprised my landlady has not had my door locked yet, the Lord bless her fr.

Anyways, in an effort to raise my vibration I have committed to going back to the gym after a long hiatus. Do I have the money for this? No. Did I go today? Yes. Now I’m sleepy af😆. At least I have food ✅😊 My butt on the other hand is ON FIRE, and it feels a bit good to have burnt that excess energy somewhere else for once. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep this up one way or the other.

My fellow hoi pollois, how are we managing stress in the Kasongo’s economy? I think I have rediscovered mine.

Btw my title was inspired by the Taurus Riley song “Lighter”.

To be honest, mtuambie mbona mko obsessed na maandamano, juu hizi issues mingi zinaezasolviwa without, actually, most huwa za court ama parliament.

the only maandamano worthy issue huwa cost of living, juu hio hakuna place unaweza enda kupetition

lakini élection livestreaming jamani, hata haujui bill inasema nini, unaandamana

mbona hawa leaders wa maandamano, juu wanapenda Kenya sana, wasitumie the right process, wanaezaenda court tu na in a week wataelezewa vile kuko.

na mbona sijaona mkiandamana against tribal politics na politics za watu kusema watu wa wantam ama Tutam wapigwe depending or region.

Need some advice! 20M finished college in 2025 I live with my parents and I've been at home all this time. My bros got work and I'm the only one at home. Mzazi anatoka asubuhi by the time he comes back at home ananipata pale aliniwacha akitoka morning and he starts cursing me out giving comparisons with other people.

I've tried keeping myself busy looking for jobs atleast mzazi aone I'm trying but everything has failed and now I don't know what to do. Tried learning new skills but all I do the payback is not giving.

My former friends got their lives aligned up, now we don't talk alot they so busy. Tried making new friends but most of them are status based and I can't fit in.

Any help of how I can work out this I'll appreciate
