transcription requested Title: Help with two difficult lines on a German postcard from Uruguay, 1900 (Kurrent)
I am researching a German postcard written in Montevideo on 25 August 1900, the 75th anniversary of Uruguay's declaration of independence, and sent to the writer's sister in Hannover.
I previously received very helpful assistance from members of this community with the transcription:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Kurrent/comments/1vzrj3d/transcription_of_german_message_on_postcard_from/ (BTW my title in this thread was wrong, the postal card was sent to Hannover, not Hamburg).
I have now obtained a much better scan of the original, and I am hoping someone might be able to decipher a short passage that remains unresolved.
The writer explains that special postcards were printed for the anniversary:
“extra Postkarten gedruckt wurden”
The following two lines appear to contain a reference to postage stamps and their possible future value, ending with:
“jedenfalls Werth haben.”
My main question is: What exactly do the intervening words say, and what is the grammatical subject of “Werth haben”?
In particular, I would like to establish whether the writer is referring to the commemorative postcards, postage stamps, or something else entirely.
I am preparing a historical study of early commemorative postal material, so an accurate reading is important. I would much rather preserve an uncertainty than introduce an interpretation unsupported by the handwriting.
I have attached both the complete message and an enlarged detail of the relevant lines.
Many thanks in advance for any help!
