Meta Get your /r/PartneredYoutube Verified Channel flair here!

Welcome to the r/PartneredYoutube voluntary channel verification.

If you would like to verify your channel and get flair like what I have on my account:

  1. Go to your YouTube channel's About section and edit the description to include your reddit username. For example I enter exactly: u/flammy
    1. Directions for how to edit your About section can be found here
  2. Post a link to your channel in one of the following formats as a top level comment in this thread.
    1. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXkf3kRpFeAx9mDCbfMS0MA
    2. https://www.youtube.com/user/flammy5
    3. If you use a different format (such as a custom URL with an @ in the URL) validation will fail.
  3. Wait, and our bot will process your request sometime in the next few days
    1. After the flair has been granted, you can remove your username from the About section and delete the comment if you're concerned about privacy. However, if you want your stats to continue to be updated, you should leave the u/ name in your About section.

FAQ:

What is flair, and how does flair work?

Flair is a reddit "signature" that appears every time you post in r/PartneredYouTube. Verification flair is not required to post, comment, or participate. A user lacking flair is not a valid reason to report them for breaking rule 2. You can remove flair at any time with Reddit's built in flair editing. The flair granted by the bot can't be edited. Verification is done via a bot, follow the directions above if you would like flair.

Why is the flair channels stats, and not partnered status?

Partnered Status is not supported by the official YouTube APIs at this time.

How long do I have to wait for verification?

Please wait 24-48 hours, and after checking you've followed all the directions you can send me a polite DM.

Is there a way to authenticate anonymously?

Will the bot update my stats?

If you leave the comment with the channel link and username in your description, your flair will be updated.

My stats are low!

The bot is only able to see your channel's public subscriber count and public total view count. If you have hidden videos, these views will not be reflected.

Can I verify with multiple channels?

Not at this time.

Is there a minimum channel size for verification?

No.

How can I remove my flair?

Yes, you can remove the flair via Reddit.

Talk / Discussion Seems YouTube just Bans People For Using Their Own Logos Now

The YouTube support system is so terrible.

Got my 2nd channel I’ve built since 2015 instantly banned for impersonation after I used the same logo I used from my main on my 2nd channel

This logo I created myself and been using on my main since 2014. Took 2 mins to get 2nd channel banned after using the same logo on my 2nd channel.

So just a word of caution for everyone, don’t use the same logo you use on your main on your small channels as it instantly bans them

I even appealed and they denied me. So seems I might eventually lose my main channel as well. As I know if one channels gets terminated you lose all of them eventually

And I make 100% original content and been making it on these channels since 2014

Question / Problem YouTube Removed My 4,000 Watch Hours After I Applied for Monetization. Has This Happened to Anyone Else?

Hey everyone, how are you doing? On Thursday, I reached the 4,000 valid public watch hours required by YouTube to monetize my channel. At that point, the option to apply for monetization became available, so I linked my AdSense account and my application was under review.
However, today I checked YouTube Studio again and noticed that my valid public watch hours had dropped, and now I can no longer submit my monetization application.
As I mentioned, I had already reached the 4,000 watch hours on Thursday and started the monetization process. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know why this might happen or what I should do? I’d really appreciate any help!

Question / Problem 1st paid collaboration inquiry a scam?

Hey guys!
I'm new, just applied for the YPP, they're reviewing my channel right now.

I started end of June with a German Gaming Channel and I have 2600 subscribers.

My video view counts vary significantly, as I’m still experimenting a lot with different formats. Recently, however, I’ve had videos reach between 1,500 and 6,000 views, with individual ones hitting 9k, 10k, 18k, and even 40k.

This information probably isn’t necessary for the question I want to ask, but I’m feeling quite excited. Could this inquiry be a scam? It seems too good to be true, and I’ve already read a few negative stories about things like this.

Does the Algorithm have a cooldown for uploads in a 24 Hour pocket?

My question in better detail is how many hours should you wait before posting another short, and therefor how many shorts can you post in 24 hours, where the algorithm will still accept and push them? To my knowledge, the algorithm takes a short, pushes it to about 1k people, then pushes it further if that 1k watched, liked, and even commented on that short. However if you posts 2 shorts, or even videos, at once the algorithm will tank one and push the other or tank both even. I have never posted more than one short in a day for this reason. I bring up this question because making shorts for me is easy, so easy that I want to boost the statistics my shorts bring it by posting multiple. However I don't want to post them so close to each other that both tank or one tanks. So does anyone from their own experience know what that cooldown of time before posting another ideally is? And I don't mean you post multiple shorts in one day and they all only get 1-5k views. I mean you post multiple shorts in a day and they all get 10k+ views. I am in the gaming niche if that helps.

question about thoughts and feelings on memberships

my conspiracy theory brain is like...whenever i post to instagram, i run each clip through edits, so that instagram can show "made on edits" and that to me makes me think they will promote it more...
i have that same thinking on members first content.
i dont do members only videos, but i load my videos in 1-3 weeks in advance...
i put every long form video (i do 7 a week) in as members first. with the thinking that if someone is a fan they get a new video every day. but a bigger fan might be ok paying to see the videos early...and then youtube will promote those videos more because they get a piece of the membership money.
since doing this my numbers are all up on average....so i think its working...or should i be vain and just think my content is better lately?

vs the downside of people thinking im being greedy asking for memberships...which i get one comment every month saying as much.

Talk / Discussion Views Plummeted in October

Just wondering if anyone else in the Travel/Running community has seen this. Last year something very similar happened during September my videos where being pushed a lot 5-10k views which for my size of channel was good. However since 2 weeks ago my last videos impressions have just fell off a cliff on my last 2 episodes considering it’s a travel series i thought it would stay pretty much the same. Not really a complaint as such it is what it is i’m just happy to be monetized and growing slowly, was just wondering it anyone else had seen anything similar in the niche or knew of a reason why as the drop off was so sudden. Even my older videos seem to have dropped a lot.

Question / Problem What would explain this rise and fall within the first 48 hrs?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I posted this video on Saturday evening. As you can see, it started to plateau in views after the first 20 hrs, but now it has picked up again. Did YouTube find a new audience for it?

The thumbnail CTR is 3.5% and the AVD is about 26%.

Question / Problem If I work as someone else's youtube manager and something happens to his channel, will it affect mine?

Basically the title. I freelance online and I found a job listing for youtube manager. The job includes uploading, scheduling, and managing everything youtube related. If something happens to his channel, will it affect mine just by the IP address?

Question / Problem AdSense for YouTube rejected 5+ times with no reason given. Duplicate closed, everything checked, still stuck

Hi all! New here, hope this is okay to post, and that everyone’s doing well.

Sooo a few weeks back, after dilly-dallying for years and always making “I don’t have enough time” excuses, I finally dropped my first YouTube video. I’m very pleased to say it popped off... enough to make the monetisation threshold in a couple weeks. Which is still insane to me.

I’d love to think about this being a full-time thing a couple years from now, maybe, so I naturally wanna get a sense of cash flow ASAP, but...

My AdSense for YouTube account keeps getting rejected with the generic "Your account wasn't approved. You need to fix some issues" message. The only thing on the page is a "Meet AdSense Program Policies" checkbox and a Resubmit button.

No specific reason, no details... I've had the same "Action needed: Your AdSense application" email at least fiev, six times.

What I've already checked or fixed:

Found a duplicate AdSense for YouTube account on a second Google login (half set up, stuck at phone verification, wrong country). Closed it properly and got the "successfully closed" confirmation.

Checked every other Google account I have. All show "No AdSense account", so there's now only one.

The payee name matches my bank account exactly.

The channel is on one Google login and AdSense is on another, which as far as I know is allowed.

Google's help panel tells me to use the Policy centre, but AdSense for YouTube accounts don't have one, so I can't follow that advice...

The "Blocking controls" page just errors out ("unable to process your request").

So, yeah, feeling a bit stuck?

Is this kind of a known loop people get mired in, or, am I missing something?

Thanks!

Consistency was the key. Video flops? Make another one. Thumbnail bad? Remake it. I just kept uploading and eventually I made it. 1.5 years working full-time with 2 kids!

For people doing IRL streams, how do you usually find someone to hold the camera?

I've been seeing people on Reddit looking for cameramen for IRL streams, and i'm tryna figure out how most streamers handle this. Some seem to just have a friend behind the camera, while others actually pay someone to come out and film. however, for those who have done it before, did you find someone through friends, Reddit, Discord, etc.? Did you end up keeping the same person for future streams, or do you have to find someone new every time?

Talk / Discussion Genuine advice needed

Hey all

I have tried several YouTube channels but never got monetised.

My first channel was for gaming and the content was shit so it was bound to fail.

The second time I just tried to copy paste from a religious channel who did not used to give copyright and kept all the discussion as well as thumbnails similar to theirs to get some traction but that failed too.

Finally I made another channel and started uploading shorts. I took the consent from the parent channel to use their clips and they agreed but asked to give credit to them at the end which I did and in the beginning everything was going good but I discontinued after a while.

I posted the same reels on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook at the same time which helped me get 22k on Facebook, 6k+ on Instagram and ~600 on YouTube the last time I posted.

So recently I tried to revive that channel again and started to post new reels. To my surprise everything was going well and my shorts were averaging 30k+ views and I was happy until the bubble burst.

My recent shorts are struggling to cross 20+ views despite being consistent and all and hence I stopped again thinking this might be any algorithmic/update issue which will be sorted after a while and I'll start posting again.

Now I need an opinion from you guys, should I continue posting or try something else?

Also, is it viable to earn a decent amount from YouTube to support oneself during their student life without being super crazy edits type video editor?

I don't want (and I can't) to make facecam videos or some new initiatives or vlogging etc videos, I just want to use the content and edit it to post coz I can't devote much of my time to edit (it hampers my studies) but I really need to earn something to support my finances.

Genuine advice needed. Please help a fellow out.

Edit:- thanks everyone for your kind advice, I think I have my answer now.... I'm really surprised to have such good advice (and some reality checks) within half an hour to answer my query.... Cheers to you all.... ✌️

Informative Deplatformed over a video game mod - Word of Caution for Gaming Channels

Last night I had an unlisted YouTube stream with a channel of 1,700 Subs when we were experimenting with Skyrim mods.

After downloading a modlist, there was an unintended explicit mod that made it into the footage. Even though it was never intended to ever be recorded, even pointing the camera away during the incident that was roughly 30 seconds in a 4 hour unlisted stream, and had no plan to be publicly shown. Not only was our YouTube channel terminated, but every account sharing the same email address which also got hit by YouTube's "Circumvention Policy". It's not only posting, but even watching YouTube while logged in is no longer possible.

Just a word of warning, especially with a much more graphic game like GTA VI coming out. YouTube's response is no joke, you can lose everything you ever worked for in a flash. So be careful out there
