Meta Get your /r/PartneredYoutube Verified Channel flair here!

Welcome to the r/PartneredYoutube voluntary channel verification.

If you would like to verify your channel and get flair like what I have on my account:

  1. Go to your YouTube channel's About section and edit the description to include your reddit username. For example I enter exactly: u/flammy
    1. Directions for how to edit your About section can be found here
  2. Post a link to your channel in one of the following formats as a top level comment in this thread.
    1. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXkf3kRpFeAx9mDCbfMS0MA
    2. https://www.youtube.com/user/flammy5
    3. If you use a different format (such as a custom URL with an @ in the URL) validation will fail.
  3. Wait, and our bot will process your request sometime in the next few days
    1. After the flair has been granted, you can remove your username from the About section and delete the comment if you're concerned about privacy. However, if you want your stats to continue to be updated, you should leave the u/ name in your About section.

FAQ:

What is flair, and how does flair work?

Flair is a reddit "signature" that appears every time you post in r/PartneredYouTube. Verification flair is not required to post, comment, or participate. A user lacking flair is not a valid reason to report them for breaking rule 2. You can remove flair at any time with Reddit's built in flair editing. The flair granted by the bot can't be edited. Verification is done via a bot, follow the directions above if you would like flair.

Why is the flair channels stats, and not partnered status?

Partnered Status is not supported by the official YouTube APIs at this time.

How long do I have to wait for verification?

Please wait 24-48 hours, and after checking you've followed all the directions you can send me a polite DM.

Is there a way to authenticate anonymously?

Will the bot update my stats?

If you leave the comment with the channel link and username in your description, your flair will be updated.

My stats are low!

The bot is only able to see your channel's public subscriber count and public total view count. If you have hidden videos, these views will not be reflected.

Can I verify with multiple channels?

Not at this time.

Is there a minimum channel size for verification?

No.

How can I remove my flair?

Yes, you can remove the flair via Reddit.

Hey guys,

If you are a member of the community, I wanted to share that there is a discord server: https://discord.gg/xvuNdNj

It is the Official Discord group for this subreddit. It is also one of the currently 2 recognized and featured communities in the Official YouTube Discord. we are also proud to be the most active of all the YouTube related discord servers. If you are looking for dynamic conversation, deep diving into stats, participating in case studies, and learning the deeper details of running a channel as a full-time or part-time job, then you will find the discord extremely helpful.

The server is Locked to ONLY Monetized channels, Managers of Large channels 100k+ subs, and occasionally some guest experts.

If you join the server, you will need to attach your YouTube channel to your discord profile under discord settings, connections. You will then submit your channel link to the verification bot and within 24 to 48 hours we will try to vett your channel and grant you access to the server. Until your access is granted, you will only see the waiting room.

We hope to see you there

Best Regards.

Question / Problem Automatic ad placement after 4 hours?

• Upvotes

Hello, I upload a lot of LONG videos, and always go with automatic ad placement. I noticed today that all the ad placements stop at the 4 hour mark, when a lot of my videos are 5-20 hours. Have I been missing out of extra revenue by using automatic ad slots because of this?

Question / Problem Random shorts youtuber with 5m subs hits me up with this message. Scam?

• Upvotes

I've never heard of this guy, and he makes shorts for kids. We actually have a mutual friend who is also very well known, which is why I even messaged him. Is it true what he says about Spotify?

Talk / Discussion Creating shorts from my YouTube videos seems to be broken recently?

• Upvotes

When I choose to edit a portion of one of my YouTube videos into a short, in the last few weeks the process seems to be broken. It used to automatically select the default frame, but now it's this thin blurry vertical line? And if you go in and manually select that default frame look, the quality is horribly low. Has anyone else noticed this?

YouTube App - Can’t Send Comments

Post image

Is anyone else experiencing this annoying thing where you can’t send comments because the send button next to the text box keeps spinning? I have to close the app and go back in and then it’ll show the actual send button, but if I try and send a different comment right after that the spinning loop or death returns. I’ve tried updating the app but nothing seems to work, if anyone has a solution please share!!

Question / Problem Having issues with YouTube Promotions

I've been using YouTube promotions to boost my channel for over a year now. And until recently, it has worked fairly well. My channel recently crossed 21,000 subscribers.

But around October 16th, something odd happened. I tried to promote a video like I always do. And even though it shows the promotion is "active" with no issues, no ads are being run. There's no impressions or views coming through. I've tried to use support, but they've been unhelpful. They just keep saying "Give it a few days because it's in the learning phase." But it's been nearly two weeks. Has anyone else been having similar issues? Is there a way to fix this? Please help me.

Talk / Discussion Seems YouTube just Bans People For Using Their Own Logos Now

The YouTube support system is so terrible.

Got my 2nd channel I’ve built since 2015 instantly banned for impersonation after I used the same logo I used from my main on my 2nd channel

This logo I created myself and been using on my main since 2014. Took 2 mins to get 2nd channel banned after using the same logo on my 2nd channel.

So just a word of caution for everyone, don’t use the same logo you use on your main on your small channels as it instantly bans them

I even appealed and they denied me. So seems I might eventually lose my main channel as well. As I know if one channels gets terminated you lose all of them eventually

And I make 100% original content and been making it on these channels since 2014

Informative Brand Account separation

If your channel is still sitting on your personal Google account and you're monetized or getting close to it, this is worth fixing before you need to, not after.

A Brand Account separates your channel's ownership from your personal Gmail/Drive/Photos. If your channel ever gets compromised, the attacker doesn't automatically get your personal email and files too — and vice versa, a personal account issue doesn't take the channel down with it. It also lets you add team members as Managers on the channel itself instead of literally sharing your Google password with an editor or manager.

YouTube Studio → Settings → General will tell you which setup you're currently on, and there's a built-in "move channel to a different account" flow if you need to switch. One-time annoyance, pays off the first time anything goes wrong on either side.

(Been looking into this stuff a lot building a YouTube channel security scanner — happy to answer questions if anyone's mid-migration and hits a snag.)

Question / Problem Channel shadowbanned.

I have a channel with 81k subs and since the end of last year my views dropped so bad that now I barely got 1k views per video. And I lose more subs each day.

I'm a 100% sure that my channel is shadowbanned. I have a channel about self improvement, I also show myself in key moments of the narration but with a mask on so I can stay faceless. After each yt update it got worse and worse. I try to touch the topics that people like but also come with new topics so people won't get bored.

I never had a strike or a warning.

I'm curious if anybody had this issue before and if they managed to fix it.

Channel 5 weeks old, 8-13k watch hours per day, how to get sponsorships?

I just reached 1000 subscribers today. I am waiting for monetization approval. My channel is ultra long form videos so the past 7 days I am getting 8000-13000 watch hours and views per day. How are people getting sponsors? I know my subscribers are low but I’m also getting about 100 new subs per day.

Question / Problem 1st paid collaboration inquiry a scam?

Hey guys!
I'm new, just applied for the YPP, they're reviewing my channel right now.

I started end of June with a German Gaming Channel and I have 2600 subscribers.

My video view counts vary significantly, as I’m still experimenting a lot with different formats. Recently, however, I’ve had videos reach between 1,500 and 6,000 views, with individual ones hitting 9k, 10k, 18k, and even 40k.

This information probably isn’t necessary for the question I want to ask, but I’m feeling quite excited. Could this inquiry be a scam? It seems too good to be true, and I’ve already read a few negative stories about things like this.

Youtube monetization rejected for reused content without the possibility to appeal

Post image
0 Upvotes

I do video essays about indie animation. My videos aren't automatically generated compilations or reuploads of other people's content. I write scripts record my own voice, research the subjects, and edit the videos myself. I use footage and other visual material to illustrate the arguments I'm making as is common in other and most video essays. What frustrates me is that hours of original research, writing, narration, and editing got overlooked by just "reused content" and also not allowing me to appeal. I'd appreciate it if you watched my videos before judging the channel. I'd like feedback on whether the videos demonstrate "original commentary and transformative work" and whether there's anything I should change.

Does the Algorithm have a cooldown for uploads in a 24 Hour pocket?

My question in better detail is how many hours should you wait before posting another short, and therefor how many shorts can you post in 24 hours, where the algorithm will still accept and push them? To my knowledge, the algorithm takes a short, pushes it to about 1k people, then pushes it further if that 1k watched, liked, and even commented on that short. However if you posts 2 shorts, or even videos, at once the algorithm will tank one and push the other or tank both even. I have never posted more than one short in a day for this reason. I bring up this question because making shorts for me is easy, so easy that I want to boost the statistics my shorts bring it by posting multiple. However I don't want to post them so close to each other that both tank or one tanks. So does anyone from their own experience know what that cooldown of time before posting another ideally is? And I don't mean you post multiple shorts in one day and they all only get 1-5k views. I mean you post multiple shorts in a day and they all get 10k+ views. I am in the gaming niche if that helps.

question about thoughts and feelings on memberships

my conspiracy theory brain is like...whenever i post to instagram, i run each clip through edits, so that instagram can show "made on edits" and that to me makes me think they will promote it more...
i have that same thinking on members first content.
i dont do members only videos, but i load my videos in 1-3 weeks in advance...
i put every long form video (i do 7 a week) in as members first. with the thinking that if someone is a fan they get a new video every day. but a bigger fan might be ok paying to see the videos early...and then youtube will promote those videos more because they get a piece of the membership money.
since doing this my numbers are all up on average....so i think its working...or should i be vain and just think my content is better lately?

vs the downside of people thinking im being greedy asking for memberships...which i get one comment every month saying as much.

Question / Problem YouTube Removed My 4,000 Watch Hours After I Applied for Monetization. Has This Happened to Anyone Else?

Hey everyone, how are you doing? On Thursday, I reached the 4,000 valid public watch hours required by YouTube to monetize my channel. At that point, the option to apply for monetization became available, so I linked my AdSense account and my application was under review.
However, today I checked YouTube Studio again and noticed that my valid public watch hours had dropped, and now I can no longer submit my monetization application.
As I mentioned, I had already reached the 4,000 watch hours on Thursday and started the monetization process. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know why this might happen or what I should do? I’d really appreciate any help!

Talk / Discussion Views Plummeted in October

Just wondering if anyone else in the Travel/Running community has seen this. Last year something very similar happened during September my videos where being pushed a lot 5-10k views which for my size of channel was good. However since 2 weeks ago my last videos impressions have just fell off a cliff on my last 2 episodes considering it’s a travel series i thought it would stay pretty much the same. Not really a complaint as such it is what it is i’m just happy to be monetized and growing slowly, was just wondering it anyone else had seen anything similar in the niche or knew of a reason why as the drop off was so sudden. Even my older videos seem to have dropped a lot.

Question / Problem What would explain this rise and fall within the first 48 hrs?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I posted this video on Saturday evening. As you can see, it started to plateau in views after the first 20 hrs, but now it has picked up again. Did YouTube find a new audience for it?

The thumbnail CTR is 3.5% and the AVD is about 26%.

Question / Problem If I work as someone else's youtube manager and something happens to his channel, will it affect mine?

Basically the title. I freelance online and I found a job listing for youtube manager. The job includes uploading, scheduling, and managing everything youtube related. If something happens to his channel, will it affect mine just by the IP address?
