Honestly I'm posting this for two reasons, I want to be able to tell SOMEBODY about my life/struggles and I also want to be able to use my experiences as a way to help others if they are struggling with the same issues I did when I was younger.
(I have skipped out on a good bit of stuff for privacy and whatnot)
When I was 11 I realized I wasn't a boy, despite being raised in a very Christian and conservative family (in the Midwest usa in small towns of 14k-400 people) it was just a fact I knew. Right after I turned twelve I came out to my parents (divorced, shared custody).
When my mother found out she immediately kicked me out and I had to move into my father's house. From there my father put me into therapy where I spent 4 years with a therapist who diagnosed me with MDD, Anxiety, Anorexia, and insomnia.
However when it came to Gender Dysphoria my father insisted my therapist go through every other possiblity before diagnosing me. After the 4 years of talking to this therapist and her deeming we have gone through every other possibility I was finally diagnosed with gender dysphoria a few months before I turned 16.
When I was diagnosed with GD my father immediately cut me off from not only the therapist I gained a connection to, but also off my sleeping, anxiety, and anti depressant medications.
This lead to a massive fight leading to my father kicking me out right before I turned 16.
From there I got emancipated and moved into my own place, I dropped out of school to afford bills, and started hrt 5 days after my 16th birthday.
Since I started hrt I have had to take several month breaks in between for numerous of reasons, like money, insurance, legislation, pharmacies refusing to give me my medications because I was trans, and because of homelessness
I moved out of the Midwest to New England where I lived for a year, where I went homeless again and was off hrt for a while aswell.
From there I met an amazing girl whom has become an incredibly important part of my life, I moved to cascadia with her now, I've been on hrt consistently, I haven't struggled with homelessness, I haven't gone a day without eating, I've gotten my GED with plans to go to college, I have a decent job (23/hr with 401k, health, dental, etc etc) and everything has been absolutely amazing.
I understand that life can be hard, it can feel like it's putting you on pause over and over and you feel like you have to keep restarting. You got this, if you keep working towards making yourself happy you will get there.
And if you ever doubt anything about your living situation, family issues, etc. what I found that helps me the most is by telling myself "it will work out" because it always does.
