by next Friday I have to be able to hit the alpha zone with at least 7 rounds untimed 12m distance. I’ve had great feedback from instructors and we ran thru some prac qualifications. passed all the 4m ones but when it came to 12 my shots went low and left. Some completely missed.
Im trying to not think about the bang but I feel like my mind resorts to it and I anticipate. Any tips? I noticed when my instructor mentioned saying squeeze squeeze squeeze in my mind i shot on target but I just ended up going back to being shit by overthinking. This is day 2 on the range.
Glock 22.

I'm getting into the hobby and keep seeing ads for hunting rifles that advertise threaded barrels. I understand the threaded art the end bit to add accessories, but these are literally twisted like on the exterior for the length of the barrel. What is the point of this? Is it an advantage or a lazy way to make the inside threaded to shoot straight?

What’s up guys. Starting to build a tool box for general firearm maintenance across different platforms mostly ar-15 and ak’s . What tools are non negotiable and any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have no idea what the hell my boyfriend wants for Christmas he texted me on his lunch break I’ve asked for more information or pictures of what he wants for his guns but I have yet to get a response but I also want to surprise him but I don’t want to buy an expensive scope he can’t or won’t use because of the quality. All the information I got was a vortex or a Leaupold scope a 12 power or better I’m wanting to spend no more than $400-500
If this isn’t a good sub to post to my apologies o want wanted some advice since I don’t know much about these things

Hey all! Can't find any resources so I figured I would come here to get info and get picked on lol. I'm building an ar9 and want a forwarder for more comfortable blast direction and avoiding having to adjust or replace too long handguard. Does anyone know if these are legal or will get me a visit from 3 letter agencies? Saw online and instantly felt like a honeypot based on looks. I'm in CO, so it's already restrictive enough. So I don't want to gamble on the gray zones at all. Tube is completely hollow but does have large diameter endcap. Thanks in advance for any guidance. I appreciate it.

What issues might one expect to encounter in the process?

Backstory: I am man enough to admit that when I was a youth i did a lot more shooting tons of trap shooting and a lot of rifle too. Well about 4 yrs ago I bought myself a 30-06 as a nice birthday present wanting to get into long range shooting. I want to take it for deer/bear/moose but ive been out of the game for a minute.
Question: any of you guys have tips for getting comfortable again with the higher caliber? Not in a position to buy a new rifle and I do really like the rifle on top of that. Its just so funny to me that I have almost 100 pounds on myself from back then and im worse at controlling the recoil and steadying the scope. I am considering a brake bur idk what to look for.
Know im a bit of a dip for this one, but hey worth an ask for some tips or drills I figure. Dont want the rifle staying as a range puppy forever.
Few notes: I live in Canada so I could get a brake but not a supressor. Good hunting but shit gun laws.

I have a smith and Wesson Sd9VE. Last time I shot it was well over a few years ago and I do want to shoot it aging but haven’t oiled or cleaned it. Should I do that soon also what precautions should I take? I don’t want a mishap and the thing explode in my hand cuz I’m an idiot. Thanks.

Disclaimer, this is not my current carry ammo. This is some old Sig Elite that I set aside when I noticed some setback. 1-5 may still be new new it's right around 6-7 that it's visibly shorter, but that may also just be a manufacturing variance.
Where do you draw the line between being safe to send down range vs throw it in the squib bin?

I'm trying to suppress uncommon guns. I started with a Walther P1 with the locking block system. This time it's a gas delayed blowback Vector CP1. Barrel removal was a little tricky since there is little to no documentation. But it got done.

Tuesday catch-all post for all the questions, comments, rants, etc. that don’t belong in their own thread or the designated Politics thread
Do you consider firearms and firearm adjacent hobbies to be your main hobby, or is it a side hobby to you? What is your main hobby, or side hobby, that isn’t firearms related?

Pretty much what the title says. There’s a lady I know that is trying to get rid of her late husband’s guns. There’s 3. These were the only 2 I could ID from the information she gave me. The third one looks to be a bolt action with an archangel stock on it. That’s all I know but they seem to all be lower budget options.
Does anyone know if the 2 that I did ID are reliable and if so how much would be a fair price if they are in good condition?
