Smith and Wesson model 14-3, aka the K-38 Target Masterpiece. Inherited from my grandfather after he passed, and he bought it for his father before him. Keeping it in the family was a priority for me. Shoots like a dream.

Bullet Setback: Where do you draw the line?

Post image

Disclaimer, this is not my current carry ammo. This is some old Sig Elite that I set aside when I noticed some setback. 1-5 may still be new new it's right around 6-7 that it's visibly shorter, but that may also just be a manufacturing variance.

Where do you draw the line between being safe to send down range vs throw it in the squib bin?

Just picked up this shotgun in 28ga and wanted to post something about it because there is not much available online. The fit and finish is great; although I would say it’s slightly lower than modern Berettas when it comes to wood and metal fitment. It kind of reminds me of the mid 90’s Berettas in that aspect. I was worried it would be about the same quality as a Franchi and it’s miles aheah. Aside from that; the adornment is fantastic for the price. The engraving is classy and sharp but you can tell it was all done by a laser. All operations on the shotgun are smooth and the safety do not auto reset which I personally love. The trigger is very clean and crisp with a minute amount of uptake. I’d say maybe a hair less nice than my Brownings. The gun points like the high end field Berettas which makes sense since they are both Italian. The shotgun can take 3” shells but unfortunately the factory IM and Full chokes are not steel rated. That is something I have noticed from some Italian guns. The shotgun is based on some of the Rizzini systems and is robust. It ejects shells well. Overall I think its a great hunting shotgun for the price. I am really impressed.

I don't know jack about these things, but when the local older generation is offloading things for under five Franklins you have to step up.

Any opinions, feedback, or other options are welcomed but I am thinking about going with either the 507 comp, Defender XL, or 507 Pro Max.

Thoughts?

Barrel extension

I'm trying to suppress uncommon guns. I started with a Walther P1 with the locking block system. This time it's a gas delayed blowback Vector CP1. Barrel removal was a little tricky since there is little to no documentation. But it got done.

Budget 9mm pcc rifles?

Looking to get a basic 9mm rifle mostly for use on the range but potentially for home defense. Looking for suggestions.

I like the looks of the basic Ruger PCC and Henry Homesteaders (traditional rifle look) but I'm not opposed to getting one that has the AR look.

My preference is to keep the price in the $500-700 range and avoid rifles that are straightforward and simple to strip and clean.

Will just use the iron sights on it. Don't intend to put optics on it.

I currently own an M&P Shield X handgun but I don't think any rifles share that same magazine.

Looking for some guidance on selling a collection

Hello all,

To try and keep things brief: my mother is looking to liquidate a modest collection of firearms: handguns and rifles. She has records from their purchase, most of the original cases and packaging, and many of them were seldom, if ever, fired. The collection was amassed during her marriage, and now with the passing of my father - she needs to sell off to pay bills.

It seems there are a hundred different auction and consignment sites available, and I have no idea who is reputable and safe to use. I am currently compiling a list of her collection and researching recently sold prices for comparison.

Is it worth having the guns individually appraised? Does anyone know of a reputable service in Texas?

Is it worth paying for the Kelley Blue Book - it looks like there are other, free options available. Am I safe to guess at the condition of a gun, or do I really need a gunsmith to look things over?

I appreciate any guidance, thanks for stopping by. I'll be in and out throughout the day, please be patient if you have any questions for me. I'll try to monitor this as closely as I am able.

**If there is a better place to ask this, so that I don't run afoul of rule 7, please direct me there. I don't want to cause any issues, I'm just looking for info.**

What’s the best PCC/PDW

• Upvotes

Hey Guys I wanna get into a Stribog SP9A3 G for a couple reasons.

📍They take Glock mags so compatibility is huge and if shit hits the fan you can find a Glock maybe almost anywhere.

📍I heard you can change the lower on these so you can upgrade the trigger and pistol grip.
I want a Geissele Trigger like I have on my rifle and want to try on a Kung Fu Grip people seem to dig it.

📍Also I like how small it is and I want to keep it that way nice backpack size PDW. That’s why I was looking into getting the same Collapsible Brace that’s on the B&T APC9.

📍I can’t stand to drop 3-5k on a 9mm PCC and stribog how more time on the market I’ve heard so more time for updates and innovation. Anyone rocking anything like this?

Thanks yall.

I keep anticipating the shot how can I get in the right mindset?

by next Friday I have to be able to hit the alpha zone with at least 7 rounds untimed 12m distance. I’ve had great feedback from instructors and we ran thru some prac qualifications. passed all the 4m ones but when it came to 12 my shots went low and left. Some completely missed.

Im trying to not think about the bang but I feel like my mind resorts to it and I anticipate. Any tips? I noticed when my instructor mentioned saying squeeze squeeze squeeze in my mind i shot on target but I just ended up going back to being shit by overthinking. This is day 2 on the range.

Glock 22.

Too much gun need advice

Backstory: I am man enough to admit that when I was a youth i did a lot more shooting tons of trap shooting and a lot of rifle too. Well about 4 yrs ago I bought myself a 30-06 as a nice birthday present wanting to get into long range shooting. I want to take it for deer/bear/moose but ive been out of the game for a minute.

Question: any of you guys have tips for getting comfortable again with the higher caliber? Not in a position to buy a new rifle and I do really like the rifle on top of that. Its just so funny to me that I have almost 100 pounds on myself from back then and im worse at controlling the recoil and steadying the scope. I am considering a brake bur idk what to look for.

Know im a bit of a dip for this one, but hey worth an ask for some tips or drills I figure. Dont want the rifle staying as a range puppy forever.

Few notes: I live in Canada so I could get a brake but not a supressor. Good hunting but shit gun laws.
