Pink hue on side of iPad and some part is not responding to apple pencil

Hello.
I own an iPad mini 7 for about 5 months and the first screen protector I bought was a Paperlike 3. I hated it because it was so scratched by my pencil pro in so little time.
Then I bought the Belmont Kent (that I have till now) and it’s much better, it’s barely scratched but the problem is that is mate and makes the screen very “dirty” I mean no crispy.
Is there any better screen protector for writing that has a more crispy effect? I know about the removable ones but I don’t like the idea.
What other suggestions do I have?

i think my ipad a16 battery health is concerning. 88% at 249 counts and i started noticing it recently 2-3 weeks ago it was 89% at 233 cycle count and its only been 10-11 months of use. tho i do use it everyday, its not heavy work just notes, netflix, youtube playing in the background. just recently started playing genshin and it did heat up the ipad and now im going to stop as its concerning me how fast the battery percentage is draining. is it that bad to get it checked?

My grandfather uses WhatsApp exclusively on his 9th-gen iPad (iPadOS 27.0, WhatsApp 2.26.42.74).

It was originally linked to an Android tablet, which eventually died. WhatsApp kept working on the iPad for a while, but after about two weeks, it logged him out.

Here's what we've done:

• Restored the October 10 Google Drive backup (4.6 GB) using an Android emulator on my Mac.
• Relinked the iPad via QR code. WhatsApp works again, but roughly two weeks of conversations were lost.
• Checked the iPad settings. There's no option to make it the primary device or configure automatic chat backups.
• The login screen only offers QR-code linking, not registration with a phone number.

The Android emulator is now the primary device, but it's running on my Mac, and I can't realistically keep it running or regularly open WhatsApp just to maintain his access.

Ideally, we'd like WhatsApp to run entirely on his iPad, without depending on another device. Getting a separate Android phone isn't really an option.

I've read that standalone iPad registration was introduced in July 2026, but I can't find it in the app.

Has anyone managed to make an existing linked iPad the primary device? Is there a way to enable phone-number registration without reinstalling WhatsApp?

Also, does standalone WhatsApp on iPad support automatic backups to iCloud or even better Google Drive?

The main goal is to prevent another automatic logout and avoid losing weeks of conversations again.

I need to record audio on a website using Safari on my iPad. Recording works perfectly when I use the iPad's built-in microphone.

However, when I connect my external microphone (DJI Mic Mini), the website doesn't seem to detect it. It appears to continue using the iPad's built-in microphone instead.

I'd like to know whether this is a limitation of Safari or iPadOS/iOS when it comes to recording audio directly on websites.

1. Does Safari on iPad or iPhone support external microphones for website-based audio recording?

2. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or successfully used an external microphone to record audio on a website using Safari?

they're like cluster of air bubbles but i dont have any screen protector on right now (removed them 5 minutes ago.) i thought they're only in the screen protector but no, it's lcd. omg help

I’ve used iPad Pros for years, and honestly, iPadOS 27 multitasking has been incredibly frustrating.

I own an 11-inch M5 iPad Pro, an iPad mini, and a MacBook. I don’t need my iPad to become another Mac. I primarily use touch and Apple Pencil for studying, reading, drawing, and productivity.

Remember how effortless iPadOS 18 was? Just drag an app into Split View, stack multiple Slide Over apps, swipe them away, and bring them back instantly.

Now I’m constantly fighting accidental window resizing, conflicting gestures, intrusive window controls, and the loss of Slide Over stacking. I’m spending more time managing windows than actually working.

I’m NOT asking Apple to remove Windowed Apps or Stage Manager. They’re great for keyboard and trackpad users. Just bring back classic Split View, stacked Slide Over, and the original touch gestures as an option in normal full-screen mode. Let both systems coexist.

I love my iPad Pro, but powerful hardware means little when basic multitasking becomes frustrating.

More features should mean more choices, not fewer.

Does anyone else miss the old touch-first multitasking?

My IPad every once in a while stops responding to scrolling attempts, or “X-ing” out of a page or even shutting down. Anyone else have this issue and if so, is there a known fix. Thanks, LM

So I sold my iPad Pro M1 on eBay and I quickly went into the settings and hit the erase all content and settings and it started doing its thing while I cleaned the screen and got the packing read… I was in a hurry and I don’t think I ever saw it complete and I just realized it’s still in my “find my”now that the post office already has it and it’s off to its new owner. I went in and requested that it erase remotely but it needs to be connected to wifi for that to happen… how can a new owner even connect it to wifi without gaining access. I definitely don’t want to send some stranger my passcode or make it a nightmare for said buyer to setup.

When I updated my iPad mini 7 to iPadOS 27, it took something like 36 hours (plugged in) to index, according to the notification in system settings. I kept my iPad Pro on iPadOS 26 and used the min as a “guinea pig”. Now that 27.2 is out, I updated the Pro M5 and after about 7 hours (plugged in) the notification has disappeared. So I guess it’s done. Power of M5 over A17Pro chip?

I am unable to join the Network Called: “Fritz.” On my IPad. Based on the Setting, it is Temporarily available On My IPad. This an WIFI Network is To Join This Network and I hope Apple will update this Network for future user to Connect it. 

I was thinking to buy an ipad lately. Probably the basic A16 which is for $650 plus taxes.

Who is going to buy this iPad for $900. The starting price is bad for $700 and to get the goodies it’s starts at $900 to $1100. There’s no 120Hz on top of that, I know some people are fine with 60Hz but it’s still crazy.

Yes it’s smaller and have anti-glared but I think iPad Air M4 is better, that’s my opinion but you might prefer the smaller size.

TO START I AM IN 11th GRADE Let me explain, I have been using my dad’s 5th generation iPad for a while now. I have been saving up for a month now and I have earned $1,000. I want to either get an iPad Air (most likely refurbished) with a Magic Keyboard, or a MacBook Neo. I want to be able to use it for school, play a roblox game called volleyball legends, play with my wireless xbox controller (omg), and watch content. I don’t know if I should spend extra on a 13 inch iPad or just buy the 11 inch. I am aware the MacBook Neo would be MUCH MORE cheaper but I am ok with even spending a little bit more than 1,000 dollars since my next paycheck comes in Thursday.

Received my iPad 11 today. After getting it all set up, I tried to send a text message with the phone number that Verizon assigned to my device and it’s not working. Tried to access the Verizon app on the iPad, and I get a screen that tells me I cannot access the app from my device, which I thought was pretty weird. They told me to login through my Internet browser, which I did, and got another screen that said cannot access page from this device. Am I retarded or is this for real?

On paper the iPad mini 8 is the overhaul we've been asking for: 8.5" OLED, A20 Pro, IP67, 5.4mm thin. Then you get to the price and the refresh rate.

The mini was $499 in 2024 and $599 after the June memory-cost hike. Now it's $699 for 128GB. Go 256GB with nano-texture and cellular and you're at $1,049, still on a fixed 60Hz LTPS panel with no ProMotion.

That's hard to justify in late 2026. The base iPhone 17 has had 120Hz ProMotion since last year, so this isn't about hitting a price point. OLED also makes 60Hz more noticeable for a lot of people: pixels switch almost instantly, so there's no LCD smear masking the frame steps, and scrolling looks juddery. Meanwhile the A20 Pro has GPU headroom the panel can't show.

Now look at what launched last Friday. The iPhone Duo opens to 7.6", runs the same A20 Pro, has 120Hz on both screens, and gets Pencil support later this year. At $1,999 it needs a reason to exist.

Then there's the other flank. The 11-inch iPad Pro is $1,199 after the June hike, and for a lot of buyers the reason to step up to it is the 120Hz OLED. The Pro still has the M5, tandem OLED, Face ID, and Thunderbolt, but plenty of people buy it for the screen.

A $599 mini with ProMotion would undercut both. A regular iPhone plus a great mini covers most of what the Duo does for way less money, and it hands you the Pro's best feature for a lot less too, in a smaller body that's IP67. At $699 and 60Hz, the mini is a weak Duo alternative and no threat to the Pro.

Who's left to buy it?

- Casual readers balk at $699 and grab a discounted mini 7 ($559 right now) or a base iPad.
- Enthusiasts who wanted OLED and A20 Pro won't pay $700 to $1,049 for 60Hz. The ones willing to spend more just buy the Pro.
- Enterprise buyers (pilots, field techs, clinical staff) need IP67 and 1,200-nit peak brightness and aren't paying out of pocket.

We've seen a version of this. The 12 mini and 13 mini had noticeably worse battery life for only $100 less than the standard model, sold poorly, and were replaced by the 14 Plus in 2022 (which the Air later replaced). Apple never had to explain anything; the sales numbers did it.

My guess is we're watching the first step of the mini's exit.

Don’t know if this post will get taken down, it keeps getting flagged before I post but I don’t know where else to go. Is this a normal amount of storage for the operating system and system data? It takes roughly 40 GB. I hardly have anything on my iPad, disabled my photos (wiped my iPad and didn’t allow photos to sync with my iCloud so now I have just a few photos on this thing), and have tons of storage on iCloud but I can never update because I only have less than 8 GB available at all times. Does anybody have this problem and hopefully a solution?

Realised I only use it for light web surfing at home anyway, so might as well switch to a cheaper one. And I like the old form factor.
