I’m having an issue where certain contacts saved in my iPhone are showing up as phone numbers only in iMessage instead of their contact names. The names still appear correctly in my Contacts app, and this only seems to affect certain contacts, not everyone. I’ve already tried deleting the affected contacts and re-adding them, but that didn’t fix the issue. I’ve been back and forth with senior Apple tech supports and did a whole bunch of tests/troubleshooting, but nothing seems to work.
Has anyone experienced this or knows how to resolve it? This has only happened to me as soon as I switched to the iPhone 18. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

My iPhone 16 pro keeps using the wrong sim line. I checked all the settings (default voice line in settings, preferred line per contact set to “always use”, change settings and restart the device, etc) but it still uses the wrong sim line… I’ve searched Apple community and online, but there’s still no helpful answer, anyone knows how to fix this?

So yeah, I accidentally dropped my iPhone 15 Pro Max into a pot full of sunflower oil.
The oil was at room temperature (not hot), and the phone was completely submerged for about 2–3 seconds before I pulled it out.
The screen and touchscreen were still working perfectly fine when I took it out. I immediately turned it off and wiped off as much oil as I could with a cloth.
I haven’t turned it back on or tried charging it since.
I know it’s IP68 rated, but I’m not sure how well that holds up against oil rather than water. I’m mostly worried about oil getting into the speakers, microphones, USB-C port, or even the internals.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? Should I just leave it off for now, or take it straight to Apple?
How screwed am I? Any advice would be appreciated!

As titles says. I have deleted photos and apps, but still I can’t update apps or take photos. I can’t even send photos by sms. I don’t know if that has something to do with it. It’s an old phone, iPhone SE.

My iPhone 13 was in the washing machine for about one minute. When the washing machine stopped, I heard something moving inside. I checked and found my phone. In the washing machine I also used a laundry detergent pod, and some of the liquid came out into the water, so the water was not clear.

I turned my mobile phone off and I plan to leave it off for at least 48 hours before turning it on again. However what should I do now? Should I take my phone to a service shop before trying to charge it? Should they check it and replace any parts? Or should I just let it dry for a few days and see if it still works?

Has anyone had a similar experience with an iPhone? I would really appreciate your advice.

Hi everyone! I have an iPhone Duo, and I’ve noticed that when I swipe down to open Notification Center, it brings up the entire Lock Screen interface, as you can see in the video.
Shouldn’t it open as a smaller notification panel on the left side instead of covering the whole screen?
Is this normal behavior, a bug, or am I missing a setting?

TL;DR How do I keep shared calendars from turning themselves back on in the iOS Calendar app?

I have Outlook 365 at work (exchange acct) and have shared that account to my personal iPhone 17 Pro with only my calendar turned on so that I can see work obligations in one place with my personal calendar.

In Outlook, everyone on my team has shared their calendars with each other. These calendars show up in the iOS Calendar app as expected. I have un-checked all of them and turned off the option to have their events block my availability.

However, periodically one of these shared calendars will randomly turn itself back on and start showing notifications. I go back and turn it off again and it stays off for a while, but today I had two different ones do this a few hours apart.

Has anyone else run into this? How did you solve it?

I'm trying to add emergency contacts to my Medical ID. Seems easy enough

However, my wife has multiple phone numbers: her cell phone and her work phone. She gets bad cell service at work, so I wanted to add her work phone as a number as well. However, it seems like you can only select ONE number for an emergency contact.

I was wondering if am missing something or if the workaround is to create a separate contact for her other number?

I bought an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a cracked back, but all its functions seem to be working normally. WhatsApp audio messages, videos, voice recordings, and calls on speakerphone all work fine. However, when I make a call while holding the phone to my ear, my voice becomes very quiet, then cuts out completely, and subsequently returns to normal—it keeps fluctuating. I would like to know if this issue could be related to a drop the device may have sustained, and what might be causing it.

I can’t update my iPhone. Every time I sign in with my password or even click forgot password to change it, it says an unknown error occurred. The same occurs when I try to sign into iCloud. as such, I can’t update any apps because this is also something I need to sign in for in order to be able to do.

I’ve just scanned a car manual on my phone into PDF through the PDF scan tool in the iPhone files app. 800 pages! As it has a limit of 24 scans per file I’ve broken it into 23 groups of 20 or so pages. I need to merge these files all together into one file. When I select them and then press create PDF it just glitches and does nothing as the file is so big. I was able to get them into one document by selecting all and sharing to print and then sharing again to create a PDF which was a smaller file size like I need, BUT!! When I share to print they all go out of order. Page 1 becomes like page 230 which is useless to me. Any ideas how I can merge multiple PDFs into one and keep the pages in order. Thank you!!

I check my spouses location periodically (yes they are aware and we both choose to have location shared). I usually check it from messages and it would show drive time. Lately its started showing walking time which is not helpful when they are hours of driving away. Find my still shows drive time. Is there a way I can change this or is this apple assuming i want walking or driving based on how I check ?

iPhone 18 pro on i0S 27.0.1. Every night at midnight the phone sounds a full screen alarm at midnight despite having (1) no active Clock alarms, (2) entire Sleep Schedule disabled, including the toggles in Health (3) no alarm apps or shortcut automations, (4) close review of notifications, and sounds turned off, (5) close review of calendar events, sounds turned off. I have also deleted all other alarms, restarted phone, prayed to my gods, etc.

The only thing left seems to be a full wipe and fresh install app by app, I'd like to avoid that. Grateful for any assistance.

Is there a way to connect my headphones to my Iphone and use the head phones for audio but i use the mic on my iPhone instead of my headphones.
So that when i call someone the audio stays in the headphones but the mic being used is my phones mic instead of the headphones ?

A few weeks ago my iPhone (13 Mini) randomly completely wiped all my events from my calendar. I barely found anything about this while researching. Everything I tried did not work and eventually I gave up.

Today the same thing happened with my contacts! Completely wiped!! All gone.
Again I tried to load backups and all. Checked other accounts that I had connected and reconnected them. Nothing.

I do have to note that I have only little storage left. (1-5GB)

Anyway, I just wanted to make this post because I somehow find almost no one with the same problem. Is this a known issue? I don’t get how this can happen and you find almost nothing about it.

I have a habit when I’m mindlessly scrolling – usually TikTok – to text interesting posts to myself so I have them to go back and research/reference later. AKA I have a shit ton of TikTok links sent to myself. 😆 I’d like to be able to export them all, put them into a spreadsheet, so I can watch them again and file them in certain categories so I can search for them if and when needed in the future. I get it, I’m a neurotic weirdo, but at least I love myself. ☺️ Point is I can’t manually pull them off my phone by connecting directly to my laptop. I found one service that will let you do it 10 at a time, but it also costs each time. Are there any options via an app, a website, or even a workaround I can do old school to pull all of those text messages into one file? I don’t even care if I get two of each, the sent and the received. That I can handle, I just want them in a file I can organize.
