You MUST have EVIDENCE or AN EXTERNAL, DOCUMENTED WITNESS that your topic exists/existed.

  • Do NOT post to ask about something you remember seeing but no longer remember the name of. Those posts will be taken down ASAP, no exceptions. If that is the purpose of your visit, please instead visit communities such as r/tipofmytongue, r/helpmefind, r/tipofmyjoystick and other related subreddits. Something is not lost if you don't remember it, that's just a lost memory. We don't count those.
  • If you are searching for a YouTube video or something similar (i.e. Tik-Tok, Vine, etc.) understand that it is VERY UNLIKELY that it has been backed up. If you have the link to the video, try looking for it here http://findyoutubevideo.thetechrobo.ca. If it's not there, you're probably not going to find it. Not saying it's impossible, but please understand how slim the chances are.
  • When making a post, please be sure to include context for what you're looking for, why, and it's significance. People are more likely to help you look for something when you give them a reason why it matters in the first place. Also try including links to possible leads and references to information on the subject.
  • Your post must exceed 150 words. This is a rule that has constantly been challenged but we are still standing by it for the time being. Do NOT repeat text to simply fill the minimum or type garbage. That's just going to get your post deleted. Please view the guidelines at the sidebar for title formatting, resources, and deeper specification on what makes a good post.
  • NSFW and NSFL media will be looked at with close speculation. Conversations about NSFL media especially are discouraged and will often likely end in being removed.
  • We are NOT the judges on what should be considered "important enough" for a post. If you complain about too many people asking about YouTube videos or commercials, too bad. If what they are looking for is not publicly accessible and no copy has been located, it counts as lost media. This is final. We are not making judgements on what is interesting enough to count for this subreddit. We will continue to include YouTube videos and things like it. If you don't like that, please consider finding another community.

If you have many disagreements with how this place is ran, please feel free to leave.

EDIT: If you have a question do NOT comment on this post, please message the mods directly using modmail. I retired from moderation since this post. Thank you.

Television Why are British soaps so hard to find complete archives of? [Talk]

I understand why the 60s-70s often aren't accessible. People weren't recording them yet and it was still the scrapping era, so unless one diligent person was recording audio those are probably gone. But 80s outwards, how come there are only a handful available at a time? The big three: Eastenders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale were (and still are for some) huge culturally. Yet I've never been able to find an accessible archive. Britbox holds a rolling selection of classic episodes, but it is a limited selection at a time. It seems extremely strange to me.

Is anyone aware of a publicly available archive that's complete or mostly complete?

Internet Media [fully lost] "WTF, Pokemon" Web Series

This was a show that started back in the late 2000s/early 2010s, mainly on YouTube and Apple Podcasts. It was a web series that covered bloopers and errors from the english dub of the original Pokemon anime. The creators were also part of the Show Me Your News channel. Both channels ended up being hit hard when YouTube started cracking down on copyright issues, resulting in the entire series being removed from the website. So they moved over to bliptv, which was ultimately shut down sometime around 2015. They have a facebook post from around that time with a google drive link to download the series but it's been privated since then.

I've found their old blip page on the wayback machine, but as far as I can tell there is no way to watch the series. Honestly I was surprised to find as many traces as I did. I requested access to that old google drive link but don't have very high hopes of ever hearing back. Very nostalgic bit of old school Pokemon media, shame to see it disappear like this.

Audio [fully lost] wandywood - One Step Closer removed song

I loved listening to this song but now I don't even remember what it sounded like, I would be really glad if someone could find it, or someone who's still in the possession of the song to upload it

I've been searching for it for a while and it appears that it's basically nonexistent on the internet. It was removed possibly due to copyright issue. Here's the original link:

Youtube [Partially Lost] Aviator Gaming's videos

Aviator Gaming was a Minecraft channel made by Zach Letter which mostly had a lot of roleplays where he and his friends would act out stories in the game. Some of these roleplay series that I can name include Newlyweds, Yandere University and Glenwood Prep, that last one of which was by far his most ambitious due to being in complete Machinima format.

Eventually he abandoned this channel around 2019 to focus mainly on running his own Roblox game company Wonderworks Studio with his wife and fellow youtuber Megan Plays.

In 2025 though Megan had discovered that he cheated on her with Leah Ashe, who is another Roblox youtuber and notably also Megan's (former) best friend. Naturally this lead to a lot of backlash for both of them and Zach would divorce Megan, and this year Megan made a video discussing her thoughts on the situation and how it affected her, just bad stuff all around. I recommend watching her video to understand it.

Anyway, back to the Aviator Gaming channel, Zach would start getting called out on Twitter for some let's just say questionable clickbait in some of his videos, especially when he sexualized some of his friends. In a panic he just up and deleted every single video on there despite having not touched the channel in about 7 years.

Only a small handful of his videos have been saved on the internet archive, including the entire Glenwood Prep series, but the sheer amount of content he made on that channel means this is probably around 1-2% at best.

I watched some of his series when I was a kid, and while I don't have any respect for Zach now, it's still a bummer that so many videos from back in the day could just become lost media in one fell swoop, so I ask if anyone has archived any of his other videos.

Link to his channel: AviatorGaming - YouTube

Audio [fully lost] 2011 Pray For Japan iTunes Compilations (Vol. 1 & 2)

Hello!

Back in March 2011, Japan suffered a terrible disaster between an earthquake and a tsunami. A lot of bands and artists got together on compilations on different platforms to fundraise some help.

iTunes had 2 different volumes of compilations called "Pray for Japan Vol. 1" (released May 4th) and "Pray for Japan Vol. 2" (released June 4th).

Unfortunately both compilations feature some music that was not released in any other way (be it the song themselves or the versions of those songs), and none of them is accessible anymore since 2015 approximately.

These were the links to them:

https://music.apple.com/jp/album/pray-for-japan-with-music-vol-1/428878111
https://music.apple.com/jp/album/pray-for-japan-with-music-vol-2/430267995

This blog post has the tracklist and cover to both of them:

https://wearestrangefolks.blogspot.com/2011/04/pray-for-japanwith-music.html

I have looked for them in every way I could think of and decided to take the search here. If this is not the proper place to ask but someone can point me in the right direction plz let me know!

Video Games [partially lost] Searching for Warzone/Линия огня game from playkot

Warzone (Russian title «Линия Огня») was a Flash base-building strategy game by Playkot, played on Facebook, VK, Odnoklassniki, Mail.ru and Fotostrana around 2012–2017. You built a military base, trained squads, upgraded units and fought turn-based missions and PvP.

The servers are long gone, and the web client was never archived: the Wayback Machine has none of its SWF files, and neither do Flashpoint and the other archives we've checked. I'm reconstructing the game from what survives (the iOS version's files, videos and screenshots), and the core gameplay already works. What's missing is the original web client and its graphics.

If you played it, the files may still be on your old computer:

  • Facebook Gameroom (desktop app) — its cache folder;
  • the browser cache of Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Yandex or Internet Explorer from those years;
  • old backups or disk images of that PC.

Flash files in caches usually have no name or extension, so they're easy to miss. I have a small read-only script that finds Playkot/Warzone SWF files in a cache folder: it doesn't change or send anything. Happy to help anyone check.

Useful markers if you search yourself: playkot, warzone, cdn.playkot.com, bc-fb-sc1.playkot.com, preloader*.swf.

Even a partial cache helps. Thanks for reading, and please share this with anyone who played!

Films In The Dark (2000) [found]

Hi everyone, I wasn't sure if this is the correct place to post this but this horror movie I really like was kinda lost media for a moment and people were unable to watch it but luckily I had a copy so I just wanted to share that story and also another update regarding this. So I post/comment frequently on a few different film subreddits like r/horror r/foundfootage r/Letterboxd etc...and I came across a film titled "In The Dark" from 2000 on a Letterboxd list about foundfootage movies. Now this is not a found footage horror movie but it is SOV (shot on video), which just means it was entirely filmed using consumer grade cameras. This is very similar to how found footage movies are filmed a lot of times but again it is not a found footage film. I was very intrigued by the plot of the movie and I decided to track it down to watch it for myself. The movie was only available to watch on YouTube, apparently this movie was only released once during a festival and after that it was never released again to the public. However when I first watched it someone had uploaded a copy to a YouTube channel approximately +10 years ago (~2016). So I did what I always do with films that don't have any possible way of uh "purchasing" them or owning a physical copy, I ripped it off of youtube and uploaded it to my plex server :p Then maybe a year goes by after I have uploaded the movie to my personal server and I am browsing reddit one day and I see someone on r/foundfootage asking about "In The Dark" ! So I reply to them and let them know about the YouTube video and what to search to find it. You had to search either "in the dark Richard Laymon" or "in the dark Clifton Holmes" as Richard was the author of the book the movie is based on and Clifton was the director. They replied back to me and said they tried both of those and they still couldn't find it, so I tried myself and it after looking all over the place it looked like the original video had been deleted ! I was genuinely shocked because this movie had been up for over 10 years, didn't have that many views at all and I was so lucky to save a copy of it myself before this happened. It seemed like such a wild coincidence at the moment. So I go back to the person I was talking to and let them know that I had a copy myself and I would upload it online and I would share the link once its available and I did but I then ended up having a mass amount of people reply to me asking for the link as well xD So I then put a stickied post on my profile with the link to the movie and I edited my original reply saying to everyone if you want to watch it just go to my profile. That post is still up on my profile with the original link as well but I have found out today that there is an Internet Archive page for In The Dark (2000) ! When I was searching for the movie after the youtube video was deleted I could not find anything, so this must have been upload afterwards. This Internet Archive page includes quite a few things that my link does not, such as subtitles and a torrent download. So if you are planning to watch the movie I would recommend checking it out here - In The Dark :D I will be leaving up my original post on my profile with my link but that will just be as a backup link in case anything were to happen to the IA link. If you got to end and enjoyed my rambling of this movie, I would highly recommend you check it out, it is such a fun watch! Plus its October, perfect time to watch something spooky right ? 🎃

Youtube Youtube Video Titled "Humbus" [partially lost]

The video is titled "Humbus" by the creator "timotainment" and to the best of my knowledge relesed 3/19/2020. From what I have heard from my own research is that many of his videos were privated due to copyright issues with the text to speech voice he used, this being one. I have found the link(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6-o317dU6M) and searched archives but was unable to find it. I have attempted to DM the creator on multiple platforms to no success.

The reason I am looking for this video is because I really enjoyed watching the creator since 2017 and the word Humbus just kinda stuck with me, so I've been using it as my username on many platforms since I got my first Nintendo Switch on Christmas 2021. I don't know the exact date the video was privated but when I wanted to see the video for nostalgia, it was already delisted, and now it's been a personal mission of mine to find the video.

I know the odds aren't great but any advice or help would be appreciated too!

Television [Fully Lost] "Nobody's Perfect" (1980–1982) – British adaptation of American sitcom "Maude" starring Elaine Stritch

The ITV sitcom Nobody's Perfect was the British adaptation of the 1970s American sitcom Maude starring Bea Arthur. It starred American Broadway legend Elaine Stritch and actor Richard Griffiths. Stritch had found success in Britain with the sitcom Two's Company on ITV in the 1970s. Nobody's Perfect is impossible to find now. It ran for two seasons, 14 episodes, on ITV. It was supposed to come out on DVD a few years ago, but it was sadly cancelled due to the company folding.

Does anyone remember this show or actually own it?
I thought Two's Company, which can be viewed in full on YouTube, was terrific.

Video Games [Found] Bootleg SpongeBob coloring game recovered from an old iPad 2 (.imazingapp backup live on Internet Archive)

Hey everyone,

I was doing some digital archaeology on an old iPad 2 using backup extraction tools and managed to recover a weird, unreleased bootleg coloring game centered around SpongeBob SquarePants.

The last known activity on the device for this app was around 2024, but the app itself feels like it came right out of the mid-2010s mobile era. It has a lot of unique, weird quirks:

  • A distinct bootleg start screen featuring green and blue paint splattered across SpongeBob's face.
  • Heavily glitched, low-quality background music playing on a loop.
  • Drawing mechanics that use unusually thick white outlines around the artwork.

I successfully extracted the app's files into a compressed .imazingapp package and uploaded it to the Internet Archive so it's fully preserved for the community. Anyone with an older iOS device or the right management software can download the backup file to inspect the directory or try to restore the data.

You can check out the metadata and find the download links right here:

Let me know if anyone manages to crack into the code or test it out!

Youtube [fully lost] Lyric Video to I Look in People's Windows

My mom and I loved this video. It's tacky to be obsessed about finding a fan-made lyric video, but we loved it. Taylor Swift's I Look in People's Windows from The Tortured Poets Department isn't a single or a track many people pick, but it's sweet and soft and...

Anyway, I have what I think is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPCHMsUkjh0

It was better than any other video available. The shots looked like stock videos, but the lyrics floated forward at the perfect tempo on the little repetitive lines.

Wayback and finder aren't pulling it up for me, and one of those things you pay for "confirmed it was private"

Are there other things I haven't tried?

This video was made private months ago. I went through every fan chat/group I could find, and I'm unsurprised by how useless that trek was. A single other person commented on one of my comments, but saying 'yeah, I remember that. It was cool' felt almost chat-bot-y.

If I can't find the video/channel through the basic tools, can I get anything from this link? And if the link is useless, does anyone know a good editor program? Because I've gotta do my best to replicate it.

Youtube [Fully Lost] Youtube channel: Animated horror stories 2020-2021

I first saw it in 2020, The channel's name was N.O Studio and they uploaded horror stories that were animated.

The ones I remember was a woman trying to lose weight with this scale but it backfired, making her way to skinny, I knoe there was a part 2 which the guy placed the scale to pay off some dept he had to pay and some woman got her revenge on him. The other one was of a girl who wore a cat collar, then started to behave like a cat before becoming one and getting kidnapped by her crush, and the last video was of a group of guys stuck on a boat in the middle of the ocean. One of them had a magical fishing rod that can lure fish but it came out of someone's mouth, it's revealed that the sole surviror used that rod and it drained the other guy's soul killing them.

The screenshot I have was from early 2021 and that was the last time I saw the channel. I don't know if the channel got terminated or the individual or group just deleted the channel.

I looked on YouTube and there are no reuploads, there are similar looking videos but not the one I'm looking for.

Their subcount was private when I first found the channel in November of 2020 but was made public in early 21.

Found [Found] [I think] Audrey Marie Santo Documentary called "The girl who makes miracles"

I recently found a way to watch old, deleted YouTube videos through a website that uses the Wayback Machine. Out of curiosity, I checked some videos I had saved to my Watch Later playlist almost 15 years ago and stumbled upon a documentary about Audrey Marie Santo. I believe it originally aired on Channel 5, a British television channel, sometime in the 2000s. I haven't been able to find this exact documentary anywhere else, although other documentaries about Audrey exist. I'm sharing it here in case anyone is interested in this old piece of television history. You can watch the archived video here.

Dubs Spanish dub of the 3rd season of the Mézga family? [Found]

Hello, so like a year ago I got my hands on the 3rd season of the Spanish dub of the Mézga family. Apparently it is lost, only the intro survived but like a year ago I got a VHS tape named "Las aventuras de la familia Mezga." Does anyone remember this dubbing? And do you think it is legit? It looks like it but I cannot find anything about that tape online. I found it on a weird German website and I bought it for like 30 euros. I would really appreciate any comments, because I wanna know if this is legit or not.

Other [PARTIALLY LOST] Searching for Lost Chinese Magazine Features of Park Eun Hee (Rigina) from T.G.

Hello everyone! I'm looking for magazine issues featuring Park Eun Hee during her time in China.

Park Eun Hee was the human member and vocalist of a cyber idol group called T.G. There has been no news of her since the 2010s. She was also known by her stage name, Rigina, and is listed as Park Jung Hee in some sources.

Thanks to the Wayback Machine, I managed to find low-quality versions of some of her magazine shoots on the Web Archive. I'm looking for the full-resolution versions and the magazines themselves, including their contents, but unfortunately, I haven't had any luck finding them.

At one point, Park Eun Hee was promoting in China and trying to build a career there. However, after receiving a rather negative reception, she left the industry without ever releasing the solo album she had promised.

Aside from these magazine shoots, if there's anything you'd like to know about Park Eun Hee or the other members of T.G., feel free to leave a comment!

Internet Media [fully Lost]Clevernoodle's snyphurr saga

YouTuber Clevernoodle used to make this saga along with other youtubers about his tf2 freak: the snyphurr, even though there's recreations of the saga, but it prefer the original ones, i have fond memories of the prequel snyphurr 0.
I remember that it all started on a desert map, there was this character called dr jarate and his minions, so then he threw the body of an injured sniper and it turned into the freak we all know, so jarate made a bugle instrument in order to call him but it was stole by a vagineer.
i wonder if someone has a recovered copy of that

Audio [Fully Lost] Looking for “Gesus Is Magic” by the 2006 Michigan band Mouth Sounds

I’m looking for a playable copy of “Gesus Is Magic” by an early-2000s Michigan post-hardcore band called Mouth Sounds. This is a specific older band, unrelated to Neil Cicierega’s Mouth Sounds mixtape or the Charlotte indie-pop act that used the name in 2017.

The surviving MySpace album page lists the song on This Is Not A Demonstration., dated March 12, 2006. The spelling is Gesus with a G, and the listed length is 1:56. MySpace identifies it as song ID 24604875. A June 2006 State News article also documents Mouth Sounds playing (SCENE) Metrospace in East Lansing with Kissy Face Fashion Faux-Pas and Rescue Squad.

The MySpace player shows the title and length but will not play. Its linked audio returns an access error. I’ve checked the Wayback Machine, the searchable MySpace Dragon Hoard index, Internet Archive, YouTube, SoundCloud, and Soulseek collector listings without finding this recording. I’ve also asked a MySpace music archivist and a member of a band on that 2006 bill; those inquiries are pending. I remember a fragment that may be from the song—something like “bomb ... dropping dream ... in the city ... as she sleeps”—but I’m not confident of the wording.

If you were in the Michigan scene then, saved MySpace tracks, or have old CD-Rs, hard drives, or show recordings, do you recognize the band or have this song? Even a reliable lead to a former member or a copy would help. Please identify the source and version if you find audio; the same band name now points to unrelated music.

Music [partially lost] home movies DvD extras OST

so I've been rewatching Home Movies (TV Series 1999-2004) and while looking up a clip of my favorite joke in the show, the landstander, to send someone I found the following
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY2l-tAmO9c
and I really would like to be able to grab the song in it to use as background music for some TTRPG sessions I run. while well documented I can't find the song or any variant of it in any playlist of the ost online. as noted in the video this one specifically is from the season 2 DvD, the first disc to be exact
https://animesuperhero.com/homemovies/DVD3.htm
the video we do have credits, David SanAngelo for writing and art, but not music. so there's not any confirmation on who even made the songs, or were they come from. for all that's know they could be royalty free. however that is unlikely as home movies does a lot with music, most episodes having their own song, and a variant of it for the credits in a lot of cases(completely rerecorded in a different key/tempo/ect)

Animation [fully lost] A TV show from 1992 called “Farmer’s Boy”

So over a year ago, I posted something related to the 1974 ABC specials cartoon called "The Magical Mystery Trip Through Little Red's Head" and someone pointed out a similar woman named Sally from a 1992 cartoon called “Farmer’s Boy,” and I tried to find information, and I found nothing about it.

The commenter in that post, Bashboy07, replied with “Yo is that Sally from that 1992 cartoon Farmer's Boy, that aired on WSTO TV in Stoughton Wisconsin? That's like super old media, basically lost media at this point. Sally was like a teacher character to the main one, which was a little boy named Thomas Greenstalk. The show was like a agriculture show, where Thomas wants to farm but he lives in the city and doesn't know how, so every episode Sally would teach him about different crops, and it would show real taped footage of the farming process, then the episode would end on Thomas returning home from school.” He also recalls Sally’s catchphrase being "A day in the sun, is a day full of fun.”

Has anyone else remembered this show, or was it just him? Is it even real? I mean, there can be plenty of Little Red lookalikes around somewhere.

Hi! i was doing some digging on Fairground Ride Airbrush Art! specifically on Paul Wrights (RIP) work. he was a pioneer in the fairground art era which we are sadly losing due to generative Al so i feel as if it's important now more than ever to be able to archive all we can of this era that will soon be lost to time!

i found this link to an old CD of his early work with 300 photos on it! and i can't seem to find a rip of it online anywhere or any photographs from said CD. it would be really neat if we could find it and be able to preserve his memory for the long term !:)

if anybody has any information or leads it would mean the world !

Television [partially lost] Video that goes along with this news article, Foul-Mouthed Phone (Funny)

Foul-Mouthed Phone (Marked as partially lost, since the article is archived)

I saw this news segment when it aired on local news channel WSVN 7 in Broward County, Florida. It was the segment on a segment called Help Me Howard. According to that article, it is from December 3rd, 2008. I remember it very vividly, because what transpired was absolutely hilarious.

A mother, Miya, was angry because a talking toy phone that her daughter, Makyla, owned wasn't what she expected. Makyla had gotten the phone the previous Christmas, although she didn't play with it immediately. She set it aside for a while and played with some of her other gifts first.

Some time later, something quite unusual happened: Makyla started using a certain no-no word. Miya, having overheard her one day, grabbed Makyla and yelled at her. "Where did you learn that word?!"

Makyla, upset, explained that she'd learned it from the toy phone, which she had recently started playing with. "This one [the toy phone] says it!"

A video of the toy phone being used is then shown. A hand runs over the numbers, pressing each one. The phone speaks the numbers out as they are pressed. Predictably, the phone says, "One!" "Zero!" "Three!" and so on.

That is, until they reached the number six. When the hand pressed it, in very clear English, the phone very unmistakably goes:

"BITCH!!!"

I was in a group with about 9 other people while watching this, and every last person in the group got a really great laugh, myself included, right then and there.

The news segment continues on. Miya asks whether this is someone's idea of a joke, and whether a toy like this is even legal. Howard Finkelstein, the presenter, explains that it's not illegal, but a breach of contract.

The video was on the website back in the day. I'm hoping it's hidden somewhere in the code. I'd love to see it again, just for the sheer hilarity and ridiculousness of the whole thing. I'm sure a lot of other people would get a good laugh from it.
