Palaver The only true actor that could play the man the myth, the legend, Eddie Dean.
If only a movie could have been made 20 years ago when Aaron Paul was in his 20’s

It very nearly overcame the wills of both Jake and Callahan - some of the bravest people in the universe (WOULD have if not for Oy), was clear that it wanted them both to die, and all this while the thing was not only still in its protective ghostwood box, but in King’s special safety bag!

If you had to enter one of Stephen King’s classic haunted buildings, which threshold would you cross?

Okay so I’m at this part where Blaine gives the answer to the riddle “There is a thing that nothing is, and yet it has a name. It's sometimes tall and sometimes short, joins our talks, joins our sport, and plays at every game."
and I was so happy I guessed the answer 🥹 that is all I wanted to say sorry guys 🥹 🎀

I just finished my first journey to the dark tower and have found myself relating everything around me to the dark tower, Ka, and the Ka-Tet. And naturally, I heard “Behind Blue Eyes” by The Who while at dinner. I listened closely to the lyrics and couldn’t help but feel as if it were written about Roland Deschain.
“No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes
And no one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be fated to telling only lies”
The parallels of that song and Roland don’t stop there. I feel that the whole song embodies him.
Are there any other songs that you’ve felt the winds of Ka from?

I still vividly remember reading book 7 in high school and Eddies death. I had to put the book down for two days before I had the courage to pick it up again. Eddie’s death hit so hard because for the first time, the Ka-Tet felt mortal. Until Eddie’s death, My naive high school self thought the Ka-tet would make it together to the tower.
But then I hit Jake and Oy. I actually sobbed at OY’s death.
Eddies death broke the KA-Tet. Jake’s death broke its heart and OY’s was the death of its soul.
Realizing Roland’s obsession over the Ka-tet causes his penance of living the journey countless times. It’s such a bittersweet but fantastic ending. I think it’s one of King’s best conclusions.

Not Dean Norris, but Stephen Graham. All y'all had valid opinions about Cort, but he has it. Fists and brains down.

It just made me think of the cover of The Waste Lands

And pleasant nights...
Finally decided to peek through the keyhole. Wondering if anyone would recommend focus on certain themes or chapters, no major spoilers just recommendations? Trying to juice the last bit of unread DT.

‘The story of their fellowship ends here, on this make-believe street and beneath this artificial sun; the rest of the tale will be short and brutal compared to all that’s gone before. Because when a ka-tet breaks, the end always comes quickly.’

I’ve been reading the Dark tower for over 15 years, very slowly and enjoying my life picking up the series every now and then. Ive just finished Wolves of the Calla this summer, but I skipped Wind Through the Keyhole, because at the time I started it didn’t really exist so I figured I’d read it after I finish the series.
But now I kind of want to go back and check it out before things get even more serious as I was going to start Song of Susannah,
Any suggestions what’s the best path ?

I only hope some magnificent woman describes me as such one day.
This is my first time reading wizard and glass, to avoid any spoilers I’ll just say this flashback section is struggling to keep me going 🥸

Everything. His mannerisms, age, appearance, accent…he’s one of the best characters on the show lol and he is in Dark Tower, also.

I’m about 15-20% through the book, and wow, thus far it’s really an amazing piece of literature. I’ve only just recently got into reading novels for pleasure and I’ve never really read Stephen king before…he’s such a great writer.
The coolest thing to me so far is he’s already managed, at least in my mind, to craft an antagonist I find terrifying, yet the antagonist has not to yet to my knowledge killed anyone, or hurt anyone; while also crafting a protagonist who I register as such, who has massacred an entire town, shot his former lover in the face, and committed another disgusting atrocity.
No spoilers!

I feel like context doesn’t matter to people anymore. Like Marge is really chasing Randall Flagg down the street with the chancla in some people’s minds or am I just a dummy?

‘At the end of her life she was aware of heat but not pain. She had time to consider his eyes, eyes of that blue which is the color of the sky at first light of morning. She had time to think of him on the Drop, riding Rusher flat out with his black hair flying back from his temples and his neckerchief rippling; to see him laughing with an ease and freedom he would never find again in the long life which stretched out for him beyond hers, and it was his laughter she took with her as she went out, fleeing the light and heat in to the silkily, consoling dark, calling to him over and over as she went, calling bird and bear and hare and fish.’
