Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I’m just curious who is everybody using as a mobile carrier ???! Rogers is just so expensive that I cannot afford it anymore. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Hubby finally caught his first buck solo yesterday after years of trying. He's been with other hunters a couple of times and is learning to skin and butcher himself, so I can't promise high quality, but we have no use for the hide personally when he's done and no one we know directly to give it to. I hate the idea of it ultimately going completely to waste and would love to give it to a craftsperson, especially someone just starting to learn tanning!
He and a friend are going to start working on it this evening.
Free pick up north Edmonton.

Hi everyone!
I’m a wildlife photographer who’s recently decided to explore a different side of photography, and I’m hoping to find a few people who would be interested in helping me build my portrait portfolio!
I’ve always been drawn to photography that feels a little more whimsical and imaginative. I love the idea of creating photographs that feel like they belong in a story, whether that’s something mystical, medieval, fantasy-inspired, or even a little dark and mysterious.
I’m thinking beautiful natural settings, forests, soft lighting, interesting outfits, cosplay, and anything that feels a little out of the ordinary. I’d really love to create photographs that have some personality and tell a story, rather than just traditional portraits.
That being said, you don’t need to have a fancy outfit or a specific theme in mind! You’re welcome to wear absolutely anything you’re comfortable in. We can work together to come up with ideas based on your outfit, interests, and the overall feeling you’d like your photographs to have.
A little about what I’m offering:
I’m looking for three individuals, couples, or small groups who would be interested in a completely free photography session around Edmonton and the surrounding area.
Each session will include 10 individually edited, high-resolution photographs, and we’ll work together beforehand to plan a location and general theme. No modelling experience is needed!
I also want to be upfront about the fact that I’m still learning.
Although I have experience with wildlife photography, photographing people is something I’m only just beginning to explore. I’m comfortable behind a camera, but posing, directing, and bringing these creative ideas together with people is something I’m hoping to improve on.
I’ll be putting as much care and effort into these photographs as I would with any of my wildlife work, and I’ll do my absolute best to provide images that we’re both happy with. I just ask for a little patience and understanding while I find my footing and develop my style.
That’s a big part of why I’m offering these sessions for free. I don’t want anyone to feel like they’re paying for an experienced portrait photographer when I’m still building that experience myself.
I’m really excited to try something new, meet some creative people, and hopefully make some beautiful photographs along the way.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please feel free to comment or send me a message! I’d love to hear a little about you and any ideas you might have.
Thank you! 🤍

I'm trying to look for physical games for the Series X. Other than big box stores (EB, BB, LD, WM), the only other shop I know is Nex Wave Games. Are there any other used/new game stores in town?

I've been looking for Khao Piak Sen around Edmonton, but have yet to find a Laotian restaurant with it on the menu. Does anyone have any idea of where to find this dish?

I used to go to Matrix salon for my hair when my stylist was there. It's been years, so I'm genuinely curious what the salon is like right now? Is Kelly still the owner?
I need to get an all over trim and my undercut reshaved. I've had some terrible cuts and worried I'll get another one.

My girlfriend is a new driver and she's just getting her license (GDL) this week and we're looking at buying a car, so getting quotes from multiple insurance companies. My question is, should we get a comprehensive/collision plan or just the mandatory coverages, not any extras?
My dad is suggesting only the mandatory coverage but I'm not sure just because she is a new driver. She's gone to a driving school and I'm also going to pay for a defensive driving course soon, she's also been driving with her dad/sister a lot in the last year or so.
The type/year of car that we're looking at will be around $10k-13k. She is 27 years old. So as far as I've researched, she won't get the extra insurance premium for a young, new driver.
Sorry for the longer post, just wanted to give as many details as possible for a more accurate suggestion from you lovely people.

Basically what the title says, I know there’s many good Japanese food places around town, but I’ve been specifically craving mitarashi dango since my Japan trip and would love to find some that isn’t refrigerated/frozen.

All right, Edmonton... Anyone remember a game programming summer camp for kids at the Space Science Center in, like, the mid 90s? 95 or 96 maybe? The instructor was a tall dark-haired guy and he'd built or customized some kind of 2D scripting engine. I remember playing MUDs at a networked lab and we toured the Bioware office on whyte shortly before they released the first Baldur's Gate.
If anyone knows who that instructor was, it'd be cool to say hi.

I traveled to Edmonton to play Lacrosse as a touring side from Australia. I was in Edmonton for a few days. We visited the Mall which is something we didn't have back home. I became a member in 1988, looks like the place closed down a year later.
I can't remember this place but I remember the amusement ride inside the shipping centre. My 13 year old self was blown away

Does anyone know what that noise in NW Edmonton is. It sounds like fireworks in the distance, but nothing can be seen, and it's been going on too long. My neighbor thinks it's a train derailment, but I don't see smoke.

Edmonton City Council and the Premier received this leaked email from the VP of CBRE about his opinions on infill. In it, Mr Schmidt thanks the Premier for her actions interfering in municipal business while also telling council not to ruin his neighbourhood by "making it cheaper". Instead of "ruining it" he expects Edmontonians to work harder, save more, and "aspire" (because Edmontonians do not work hard enough to survive as it is). He also sees urban sprawl as the only path forward and just build a few more police stations and firehalls, neglecting to mention that the city cannot even afford to build the infrastructure it needs now for it's current suburban sprawl.
The point being from Mr Schmidt, just work harder, aspire for more, and maybe lay off the avocado toast or some other BS like that. Thanks for the tips!

I love the idea of using the pedways in the winter, went to a movie and had drinks at District 102 last night! was great.. so questions:
Do you live in a pedway connected building/what is your experience?
Is the new "station lands" pedway open yet?
Is the city ever planning to try and keep the pedways open later? would love to go for walks on cold winter nights and check out shops/entertainment
I know their is rogers, landmark, some restaurants but any other things in there that are cool on evenings/weekends?

So I was looking for a part-time job to do alongside my school. I first got hired at a FedEx warehouse and went there for my first day. I waited 20+ mins to get the manager (who was supposed to meet me at the door). Another new hire came too and was waiting with me (he was Indian). When the manager came ( who was also Indian) he just walked and we followed. The manager then proceeds to ONLY TALK TO THE GUY ( he literally only looked at him while talking and completely ignored me). He told HIM what to do to get a password and I was left to figure out things by myself. Long story short I couldn’t get the password and the manager started talking to the guy in Indian ( presumably about me). He ended up sending me home rudely and was very dismissive when I asked for help. And while I was walking out I noticed that everyone LITERALLY EVERYONE that was working there was Indian. I ended up quitting right away and didn’t bubble it to the hiring team because the guy that hired me was also Indian and I couldn’t bother wasting my time on something I already left.
Now I thought I was done with this bs and that was a one off experience.
Until I got hired at this other (also big corp but name redacted because I need a job smh) place. And I realized that this place was just as bad. So far only Indians work with me (except for security who’s black). And they EXCLUSIVELY communicate in Indian even over the walkie talkies and while I am actively standing with them. Now I don’t know what to do about this because even at this place all of the managers/ district managers are also Indian 😭. And I feel so left out by that and especially feel self conscious because they could be talking shit about me right beside me🥲.
Another piece context is that I myself am non-white and my name is ethic (which now that Im thinking about it, I think is the reason they are hiring me because both of these jobs I got without interviewing).
Please don’t feel like this is a safe space for bigoted racism, I myself have Indian friends and they are amazing people. I just want to discuss this and see if anyone else has a similar experience and get any advice on how to professionally approach this.
Thanks
P.S I KNOW INDIA HAS MULTIPLE LANGUAGES, I don’t want to make assumptions (stop commenting on this pls)

Good evening!
My partner and I recently moved to Edmonton so I could go to school. I lived in an avenue living apartment for 4 years in Calgary and I was naive to think it would be a similar experience here. We moved into an AL townhouse and things have been… rough. We have called and sent multiple emails. We get told on the phone that someone will call us within 24 hours. (We’re still waiting for our first call back from August ) not once have they called back or responded to an email.
Honestly we’re tired. We’re only here for a couple years, we don’t want to move. We want Avenue Living to actually give a fuck.
How do you get their attention?
