trans acceptance/experiences in emory?

hi, I'm a high schooler considering whether or not to apply to emory (I really like emory from what I've seen), but I'm not sure if I could go there bc of its location. the american south is not particularly good for trans people (in terms of both legislature and sometimes the people), and I'm wondering what I should know abt it. would I be able to medically transition? what would be the social implications of living there as a trans person??

(for context, I live in massachusetts)

Has anyone taken NBB 361W? Workload, difficulty, and professor experiences?

Hi! I’m a current junior considering taking MBB 361W next semester, and I was wondering if anyone here has taken it before.

I’ve heard that the course is pretty challenging, so I’m curious whether it’s actually as difficult as the course description makes it sound. How heavy is the workload, and how much time did you typically spend on assignments and preparing for class? Also, what other courses would you recommend taking alongside it to keep the semester manageable?

I also noticed that the class only has 8 seats. Does anyone know how competitive registration is and whether juniors realistically have a chance of getting in?

Lastly, I’d love to hear about your experience with the professor. Are they approachable and supportive? I’m also pre-med, so I’m wondering whether this is the kind of small class where you can build a strong relationship with the professor and potentially ask for a medical school recommendation letter if you do well and actively participate.

I’d really appreciate any insights or advice. Thanks in advance!
